FDR spending the way out of the Depression did not work. I am a democrat, but the reality is, the moment he pulled out government money out of a stagnant economy, it crashed. It proves that his policies did not work. As morbid as it is, the event that got us out of a Depression was the weaponizing of the economy during World War II

And it pulled us out of the Depression. They could have never fired a shot with those weapons, just purchased them and parked them, and the resulting economic boom would still have happened.
Why do people think the shooting and the killing was the prosperity? It wasn't the war, it was the mass purchase of goods that ended the Depression

you seem to have one great misconception in this. weaponizing the economy doesn't mean buying a lot, it means producing a lot. The war did not pull us out, but FDR's new deal was a failure. And they didn't purchase and park the weapons. They purchased and USED the weapons. I suggest you read the American Pageant by Thomas A. Bailey. The man was a very unbiased historian. There's a reason that it has been used as the US History AP book in California for more than 30 years

Depression = No one buying or producing
Weaponizing = govt did all the purchasing of weapons, foodstuffs, etc.
Firing the guns only added ammo sales to the deal.

Capitalists crashed the economy, which was what got FDR elected in the first place.
They did it again under Reagan/Bush with mass bank failures and bail outs, which helped Clinton get elected (and helped make Ross Perot a viable candidate as 3rd party).
Republican capitalists did it again, crashing the banks and bailing them out with W. Bush, which REALLY helped get Obama elected.
