I have seen a lot of the DSI and currently own a nintendo DS. If you want a simple, easy to work system without many new, fun functions, a DS is a good starter system, but if you want a lot of fun extras that could possibly get confusing at times, then you Definately want a DSi

every game i've pleayed in Nintendo handhelds (Game Boy, GBC, GBA, DS, DSlite) save the game in the cartrigade, they don't use a memory card like home consoles. If you play the same game in a DS, then a DSlite, ant then a DSi, your data won't get lost.

@dyldyljkj19 i have a dsi and ive had a ds lite but i think the lite is more comftable and the screen size difference is not that big.the ds lite has a longer battery life. if you have gameboy games you need ds lite since dsi dosent support gameboy games. as much as i know there are NO dsi games only ds games that can be played on the ds.the camera isnt THAT good but u can have some fun with it.so i like the ds lite more but theres a new console :the Nintendo 3DS! the games are 3d!!

@dyldyljkj19 theres also an sd card input on the dsi so you can play with music that you can import from the sd card. so teh dsi isnt all that much. oh yeah and in pictochat theres colors but its only a line that changes colors when you draw something :( thats pretty much all i know you dont have to agree with me but i like the ds lite more.too bad i broke my lite when i went crazy when i couldnt beat a sh*tty game and threw it on the floor and broke the power switch D:

No. Unfortunately the JPN Model is purely JPN language and browser and doesn't feature a US or EN capable language pack. The Good thing over the US release though is more modes and functions on the JPN model than that of the US version.
