THIS IS AN OLD STYLE MILITARY COUP OF 1960-70-80's 100%ilegal, unacceptable in this centure.militaries and rich family in power, no way any more. THE INVASION IS COMING SOON BY ALBA.
"Todays events are painful as we see leaders of the hemisphere take solidarity with Zelaya and abandon a whole nation. It is called betrayal. Nevertheless, we Hondurans must pay the price of being shunned, if we are to learn to look after ourselves and not continue living on an international pseudo charity that carries high interest rates, both moral and financial." - Mario Mendoza, Tegucigalpa
Zelaya was 24 hours away from being in a position to tear up the constitution and rule indefinitely. The Honduran Supreme Court and Army rightfully took Mr Zelaya out of office before he could do this. Why will the world not applaud the government for standing against this man?
the coup is justifiable if you are 1. white 2. rich 3.rightwing 4.anti-democratic 5.anti-latin american 6.anti-human rights 7.anti poor- the truth is that over the last decade latin america has become democratic and the pueblos voice is being respected, the poor masses (because of decades of rightwing dictators) are being represented by leaders such as Chavez, that is why most of these elections have been landslides in favor of the left- this coup is a desperate act of the dying elite
its like every liberals wet dream came true and Bush refused to leave office. the military handed power over to congress directly after the coup. Your recycled opinions from talk show hosts and stupid friends shows the extent of your intellectuality.

Way to go. You are trading rational debate for the subject/motive shift fallacy.
If it was justifiable it was justifiable for everyone based on reason and logic. Saying it was only justified for "rich white right-wingers" is divisionist rhetoric designed to turn people against each other rather than discuss this reasonably.
We support our new government. I am from Honduras and I have to say that the world is not listening to us. There are currently thousands of people protesting against Mel Zelaya.
Take a look at the local news paper. See it by yourself
Zelaya broke Honduran law by ordering a Referendum to extend his rule. He wanted be a President For Life. The Honduran Supreme Court did the right thing by ordering the military to oust Zeleya.

The Coup was justifiable.
Zelaya was trying to become a Fidel Castro, a dictator for life.

If there will be a foreign invasion, the Military and people of Honduras will resist, no matter how unpopular he is.
