I did this type of stuff in the 1990's. Microsoft SPeech SDK and Text To Speech Engine, you can use a better voice to make it more realistic, don't need to stick with the older robotic sounding ones.

AIML fails on processing actual calculations and analyzing results. I replaced all files on the AIMLBot with SQL Stored Procs. Now I have a system that rudimentary processes data. I am trying to get it to be more result oriented to become a true AI assistant. Has anyone used Data Mining techniques with the ALICE engine instead of AIML?
