We don't have to enjoy them dude, everyone has a different taste. But even if I don't enjoy Dream Theater, I won't go to their page and say "(insert band) is better", unlike some retards.
I'm open to all types of metal and rock, and trust me Dream Theater fans are into great music. but having simplistic guitar playing GREATLY effects the quality of the music for people who've been listening to music for years. it makes it very boring and annoying to hear somebody playing the same notes over and over again with little variation.
true enough, but when you focus on the music as a whole as opposed to just the guitar, you may find that the repetition suits the song. take The Call of Ktulu by metallica (i'm sure you know it) for example. i think the same goes for this song, but that's just me.
and does it have any effect on the quality of their music?..... NO. but first, some of the riffs are pretty awesome and there are many great melodys in their music. and second you have to remember that the guitar player is the singer at the same time, but still he makes a awesome job.
oddleif stensland sounds so much like warrell dane. but its not necessarily a bad thing. i am a huge nevermore fan and i still like communic and think that they are awesome. even though he sounds alot like warrel the music is what really sets it a part and he is not a dead match to warrel its really his tone more than his style. but the music is very different from nm. not quite as technical as jeff loomis and company. lol. but still overall very good.

but yeah, AMAZING band. going to bloodstock 08, and im looking forward to see them the most, out of all the great bands playing (iced earth) which says a lot.
This CD is at the CD/DVD/game store near my house, I'd best get my ass over their, this album is great.
