OOOOk so i have a problem... I dont know how to remove the pages from the main screen in this version... Anyone can help me or tell me how to remove them?
@Justinas98 When you say "pages on the main screen" maybe you are talking about icons on the screen. They should be able to be trashed (removed) the normal way of "long-pressing" on them and drag down to the bottom of the screen to the "trash" can, then let go in the trash... then the Icon will be gone. Is that what you needed?
@Justinas98 I don't know how to remove "pages" from your phone's OS - what others may call "screens". Perhaps you need to Root your phone so you can apply whatever interface you like to your phone, but I don't "go there" when it comes to that level of messing with the phone's OS. Maybe others here can help, but not me.
do you know how to undo an update on the adroid 2.2.1??? i updated my phone recently and now its extremely slowwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!! I want to go back to the original version...! any advice???
@azicladi Not sure if you can "go back" to a previous version. You could try calling your service provider re. that, but chances are you can not. Look to see if there are any apps running all the time now that you want to disable. Check into Advance Task Killer (I have videos on it) - that seems to help some people not only save battery life, but if may help you figure out which app to remove that might speed things up. Good Luck!
@atdandanyou nope, There are too many variables to track down lags for every phone. Glitches: I think all software that interacts with other software (i.e. Apps) will appear to have glitches at some time. This video was made to simply try to tell others what main things happened with this update.
@jkxxabuxx Short of "Rooting" your phone (if you are not sure what that means, then I would not suggest it) you can check to see if your phone is waiting on an update here: Menu>> Settings>> About Phone>> System Updates.
If you see that there is a system update waiting for your phone, you can select it there and download/install from that screen.
I hear that "official" GB could work OTA but I don't see Motorola wasting time on the D1 anymore. I would say there will be a full working GB rom by the end of January...so I hope!
@baby464blue Yup, the new Droid 2.2.1 system was pushed out to the Original Droid a while ago. Look at Settings>>About Phone>>System Updates and you should see the option to update.
If yours is already updated, then you may be asking about Priority Inbox. If you don't use Priority Inbox on your Desktop ver. of Gmail, then it will not show on your Droid Phone. Gotta have it on the desktop ver. first, then you can add it to your phone. Click the link to my article about it in the description.
Just figured out a new use for the "Reply Inline" function in the new Gmail. It let me copy some text that was sent as part of an earlier email.
Selecting text from within an email thread is a bit tricky (on your phone), but choosing the new "Respond Inline" button, let me scroll around some "earlier" text, then select it, copy it and reuse it elsewhere. Just a tip on how else you might use it. ;-)
i dont think 2.3 will officially make it to Droid. Root will be the only means of 2.3. The Droid Eris was said it would never officially get FroYo, but for root users, it is running Gingerbread. I would say there will be full, stable rooted Gingerbread roms for D1 by Christmas
I tested the 2.2.1 before it came out. I came from root to get it, and frankly, I was very disappointed. Only improvements I saw were the launcher was a tad snappier, and some junk to the amazon mp3 apps, which is just useless bloatware. I went back to root and not looking back, especially since Gingerbread will be here in the next few days.
@jdailey19811 I hear you, but for the average Droid Phone user (that doesn't look for updates, but takes them as they get pushed to their phone) this update is one they want to know about and see what changed since it "showed up" on their phone. Gingerbread is not going to "show up" on people's phones for a while.
@Robertsmith2002 Good chance a lot of the components that did not change did not get a new ver. no. so i wouldn't worry about it, as long as what you uninstalled & reinstalled was Swype and not the System, then I'd say UR good.
@Robertsmith2002 Can you Uninstall and then Reinstall Swype?... I've read where that helps fix some update issues with Swype ... depending on the phone.
@Vangoh32 Another little goodie that I just discovered. An improvement in the Google Search Widget.... lets me choose a particular App on my phone to search within instead of just All Apps on my phone. Pretty useful to narrow down the search if you ask me. I wrote up a UseMyDroid Tip about it on my website.
@VideoLeadsOnline Do you mean "which" should have been "wish" and a little double "to" action? Not to worry, once we post these, we can't edit. I think we can guess at what you meant meant!
Thanks for the update. I am using the HTC Incredible and haven't gotten my 2.2.1 update yet...but I did update my gmail like you said I could. Works great! I agree with Video Leads Online, the reply all improvement is great.
What I like most about the changes to Gmail is the fact I can Reply All from more places... I was one that would hit Reply, start putting in text, and then which I could change to to a Reply All... now I can without starting over. Nice!
Cool, this video looked a lot like the previous one you did on the topic, but I see where some stuff has been added in the video to clarify that point re. Desktop vs. Cell Phone version of Gmail. Plus I like how you zoom in now on the official Gmail Update alert text, makes it easier to read. I'm watching you!! Thanks!
This version of the Android 2.2.1 update has some added info re. Gmail Priority Inbox needing to be on your Desktop Gmail system 1st before it works on your phone. Find the "Priority Inbox" feature in the "Gmail Labs" section on your desktop Gmail program. Enjoy!

Robertsmith2002 1 year ago
@Robertsmith2002 Not sure what you mean. Is it swype ver 2.2? or the Android 2.2?
If Android 2.2, then the phone may mess your Swype up again when it updates to Androd 2.2.1 again.
