DiGiorgio's bass was virtually non-existant on that album, which has always been the one thing that disappoints me every time I listen to the album. I wish they would re-release it with a better mix to show Steve off a lot better. He was at the time and still is a hell of a unique talent, and should be treated like one.

Yeah, I thought that too. I saw an interview a while back where Eric had said that James joined in the recording fairly late, so he didn't write very many parts meant for soloing, similar to "Demonic", an album I like except that Gene Hoglan's snare on it sounds a bit boingy. They finally got the drum sounds right on "Formation" though.
