To my opinion the film would have never worked so well and gained "cult-status" if QUEEN would not have contributed the wonderfuil music.

I'll say this there are times you should see a good actor in a b-grade film to see their acting abilities. There are some films I have seen that are not some actors best reviewed roles but if they give it everything they got then you see true acting ability. Incidentally Vultan must be a good leader because he leads from the front.

The greatest action scene in movie history, a perfect storm of elements; laser blasts flying everywhere, Brian Blessed shouting and hitting people with things, and Queen rocking out so loud in the mix that you can barely hear any sound effects or dialogue. @katlarX that's the whole point! Throw a big budget at a B Movie and what you get is this. The design and the script are so right and played utterly straight-faced to make it better. Brian Blessed claims it to be one of the most fun things he's ever done - and the fact that he's playing the thing he pretended to be as a child. Clearly done by people who loved the story and wanted it to be fun. A big dumb grin of a movie - and they don't make many of those now.
