hi i spoke to you at the teslathon !!! that coil is a very low frequency for such a small one ...your going to have to have either a large tank capacitor or a large primary or even for best results go for a combination of the two once yu put on a decent top load your looking at a frequency of about 100khz in my coil to reach 100khz i have 60nf and 15meters of primary coil get back to me if you want to know more
I would love to and will someday soon, however this Economic crisis hit home, and im currently layed off. Typical, tons of time and no cash!!! It's also very hard to get supplies where I live so everything has to be ordered in......thats why I asked about wire size and length.
You can make them out of a junk Microwave, it has All the wire you need in it. There is a fan at the back with some, what must be 0.1mm wire (just do 1000-ish turns. And the Micro Wave Oven Transformer has the primary windings needed.. Apart from that you need an old CRT Monitor for Capacitors, transistors and the flyback transformer.
Sorry to Hear you got layed off but you could put your time to good use are your good a finding discarded items.
ey man, if you wanna check out CNA jobs or classes in your area you can make a decent income to get yourself back on your feet, i dont know if this helps, thats what i have been doing, its a tough job but it brings in the money for a decent life. just a suggestion,
I was working at a large steel mill, last 3 years working in structural repair. With any luck the demand for steel will rise soon and I will be recalled.
well, its Certified Nursing Assistant, its a job where you help people get dressed and cleaned, eat, and go to sleep. i work at a nursing home, or you can work in a hospital or even private care at someones house. i was just suggesting if times are getting tough, this is a very reliable job, even over time where i work! well i make enough to support my tesla research and i thought maybe that could help you out too. good luck with you tesla work, i hope this economy fixes, its kind of scary!
I have been looking at some courses, but the jobs available for careworkers is already outweighed by the number of graduates. Canada could always use more careworkers, but the government funding has been cut back so nurses are loosing thier jobs... Yeyyyyy Socialism....
Thanks, it is on a cardboard tube that is 3mm thick and has an outside dimension of 55mm.
The wire is 0.25mm and I planned on 1100 coils to make it 1:5 ratio, but I took it up to 300mm because thats where my ruler ended, lol. should have been 275mm ish.
1200 Coils at 55mm is 66000 = 66 meters Long (wire) I think that right any way.... I think thats why it took so long!
its resonant frequency is 270kHz not MHz on the title.
It is a little known fact that Tesla de-tuned his coils for demonstrations to astound the public with massive lightning demonstrations. That was not the intension of his design but a by-product that made for a good show.
270 MHz ??? kHz

Hi, I have a 7.5kV 60mA Supply. I typed it into a tesla calculator and it said that 0.0255uF was the highest I could go...
Ill PM you the figures, Cheers.

The direction of the winding for the recieving coil shouldent matter, if the resonant frequency is the same,

great job, wireless?

Cheers, Can you email a sketch of that circuit?
Im going to build another coil exactly the same to try it wireless, I think you have to wind it the opposite direction though.
Thanks

Recycle dude, you can do it!
Paul.
Let me know.

Thanks for the info. I will try to gather up some discarded parts.
The only hard find will be the power supply, that was a neon sign transformer right??
Can101276 3 years ago
Ask store that sell then if they have any old ones....

You can use the CRT Flyback Transformer from a computer monitor...

CNA jobs or classes ???

What are CNA jobs??

What are the dimensions of your coil, and how much, and what guage of wire did you use??
It does look very professional !!!
Congrats!!

I heard that too, the transmission of energy was purely invisible and you need two Tesla coils at least for shields etc..

;-) Should be good, I have bought a variac today so theres only a few parts I need to get now....
