I never have a definite style, should I try to build it or do you think it will come naturally to me??? I used to post videos here, but I reckon I got to improve my playing before posting again. Thanks for your videos.
I love your style and your voicings, muy mucho! I hope to play like that again if I can ever get my back fixed. It is hard to play without a left hand. I do the best I can with two fingers of my left hand. You never know how much you appreciate them, till you can't use them. Oh well, I enjoy listening to you. It is medication for my soul!
This piece is really good. I am very impressed. Who ever wrote this should be very proud. I have spent so much time studing Rachmaninoff, this music is exactly what I needed to hear (not to take anything away from the Rach, my all time favoritie). What I'm trying to say is...this was very refreshing. Job well done sir.
I Like a lot your playing, it is very fresh and balanced. Thank you. My Jazz Piano teacher use to tell me I have a "problem": I have a bass player in may head and some times I sound like playing with a trio, any way I enjoy it a lot and finish playing with a band for many years, now 25 years later, I am trying to catch up again and relearning from 7notemode. Thank you.
@musiquemusicmuzik I think, from bottom up, it is : A B D F# A and the second chord is A B D E G. , third is I am coming down on a G maj 9 chord, putting the sixth, E, in there at part of the time. I'm going to do a tutorial on this sometime soon.
Wow. Such gorgeous harmonies! Clean playing. This is so great, but your playing style is dying for some type of accompaniment (bassist/drums especially) though.
I can never comprehend how you improvise these songs. =x
Just wondering, how is the Galaxy Vintage piano's bass? I was fond of the tight-stringed bass of Synthogy's Steinway and was wondering if I would be satisfied with the Vintage's bass. Thanks!
The great Steve Allen once said that the song Laura, was one of the most perfectly constructed songs ever written. Tom, you've proved him so correct and have naturally taken it to a different level.
A true piano master on a legendary sampled instrument. What else can we wish? Thank you so much for sharing your inspiring and experienced playing. *****
@mrdandrea Ha! Thanks for the KJ reference. I listened to his Paris/London recordings today in the car. I think I will do a tutorial on this one, so notes will be forthcoming.
This is so good. I shall listen again this evening, with the lights low and a brandy in my hand (well, in a glass!), and I shall escape into a world of freedom for the duration of your performance.
your playing leaves me both happy and sad. i adore listening to you play however i am constantly reminded how much i wish i could play like you! i play averagely well, not very good at sheet music. but i have no idea where to start with the sort of chord progressions you use!

Nice sound and playing. I currently use the New York Grand from Kontakt 4 on my song "I Need You". I really like the tone of the sample.

And might I say, what an INSANE setup you have there. Very jealous! (I've actually just decided that I'm going to aspire to have a similar setup!)

Nice playing, such a relaxed style you have. I liked the tune in the bass bit, and the block chords especially.
I got into jazz through playing the Shearing arrangement this tune,it turned me on to jazz harmony.
The Galaxy piano samples sound good, but is the pedal release a bit loud.
davebeeboss 1 year ago
@davebeeboss Thanks, Dave. I love the Shearing! Volume of the pedal sound can be modulated or eliminated as can damper sound.

Very clean playing! I wish i could be as clean! do you use a metronome?
I like the sound very much, a lot of 'melody-dynamic-power' and warmth.
are there some bad sides of the vintage, which one cannot hear in this video?
stocksam 1 year ago
@stocksam I used a met for part of it, the other part not. I really like the Vintage D. It is a very expressive instrument.

Oh, Tom -- this is scrumptious! This appeals to

who lean toward clean. A dreamy interpretation.
