  • I never have a definite style, should I try to build it or do you think it will come naturally to me??? I used to post videos here, but I reckon I got to improve my playing before posting again. Thanks for your videos.

  • @claitontesch As you work on technique, ideally style evolves on it's own. Thank you so much for your comments.

  • What kind of piano do you have? It sounds very good.

  • Nice sound and playing. I currently use the New York Grand from Kontakt 4 on my song "I Need You". I really like the tone of the sample.

  • how much better is the sampled piano than the cp300's piano samples? if you direct line in record one?

  • hehe without socks.. but chillin good

  • Me gusta mucho como tocas, ¡¡¡Enhorabuena!!!

  • @sapillo6 Thank you!

  • I love your style and your voicings, muy mucho! I hope to play like that again if I can ever get my back fixed. It is hard to play without a left hand. I do the best I can with two fingers of my left hand. You never know how much you appreciate them, till you can't use them. Oh well, I enjoy listening to you. It is medication for my soul!

  • Love your mellow sound. All on the same page musically. Love it when it all comes together like this.

  • amazing.

  • This piece is really good. I am very impressed. Who ever wrote this should be very proud. I have spent so much time studing Rachmaninoff, this music is exactly what I needed to hear (not to take anything away from the Rach, my all time favoritie). What I'm trying to say is...this was very refreshing. Job well done sir.

  • I love the pedal release noise! Awesome! Which do you prefer between Galaxy and Ivory II?

  • love those silky chords - sparse and supportive - alot to learn from your playing 7note

  • Absolutely lovely mate.

And might I say, what an INSANE setup you have there. Very jealous! (I've actually just decided that I'm going to aspire to have a similar setup!)

  • ....sounds like Bill Evans!

  • This is Great!

  • Lovely playing and a very helpful tutorial. Thanks!

  • You should make an album!!!!! Wonderful playing. Very soothing and enjoyable!!!! Would definitely buy it!

  • Worderful, like always

  • hi, beautiful!!! do you have from your version "music sheets"???

    greeting Bruno from Switzerland

  • Wonderfull stuff, thanks

  • I Like a lot your playing, it is very fresh and balanced. Thank you. My Jazz Piano teacher use to tell me I have a "problem": I have a bass player in may head and some times I sound like playing with a trio, any way I enjoy it a lot and finish playing with a band for many years, now 25 years later, I am trying to catch up again and relearning from 7notemode. Thank you.

  • What kind of voicings are you using at 0:50 ? It's like many notes very tight, very beautiful but i can't see your hands...

  • @musiquemusicmuzik I think, from bottom up, it is : A B D F# A and the second chord is A B D E G. , third is I am coming down on a G maj 9 chord, putting the sixth, E, in there at part of the time. I'm going to do a tutorial on this sometime soon.

  • @7notemode Thank you very much =) I'm impatient to see that tutorial.

  • @7notemode Would you? I would really appreciate it. I love this song so much. Thank you.

  • That Galaxy Vintage D sure sounds like a real piano, man. Good choice.

  • Wow. Such gorgeous harmonies! Clean playing. This is so great, but your playing style is dying for some type of accompaniment (bassist/drums especially) though.

  • I can never comprehend how you improvise these songs. =x

Just wondering, how is the Galaxy Vintage piano's bass? I was fond of the tight-stringed bass of Synthogy's Steinway and was wondering if I would be satisfied with the Vintage's bass. Thanks!

  • @TheIshter The bass is very adjustable. The demo's on Galaxy's website are representative.

  • You have a talent, a big one, I enjoy all the chords and voicings played in this video, nice to hear you play.

  • Nice playing, such a relaxed style you have. I liked the tune in the bass bit, and the block chords especially.

I got into jazz through playing the Shearing arrangement this tune,it turned me on to jazz harmony.

The Galaxy piano samples sound good, but is the pedal release a bit loud.

  • @davebeeboss Thanks, Dave. I love the Shearing! Volume of the pedal sound can be modulated or eliminated as can damper sound.

  • Great Sound Tom, beautiful voicings

  • @PianistaItaliano Thanks, Alfonso!

  • Awesome! I love your sense of time, impeccable!

  • @hwsanchez Thx!

  • Beautiful. Thank you for posting.

  • I like that paying, it is wonderfull. Thanks for sharing! sincerely Matze ;-)

  • Hmmm, very nice!

  • I just realized it was the sound of the pedal, like a real grand piano, cool ;P

  • wonderful playing, and the sound is very nice, which programme do u use? is it via USB?

  • The great Steve Allen once said that the song Laura, was one of the most perfectly constructed songs ever written. Tom, you've proved him so correct and have naturally taken it to a different level.

    Wonderful.

  • @jimbomed Thank you so much, Jim!

  • I have no words... bravissimo!!!

  • Man, I wish we were in the same town!!!

  • omg, this is heavenly...

  • Superb.

  • Super nice touch!!

  • A true piano master on a legendary sampled instrument. What else can we wish? Thank you so much for sharing your inspiring and experienced playing. *****

  • @idaveit Thanks for the wonderful comment!

  • Very clean playing! I wish i could be as clean! do you use a metronome?

I like the sound very much, a lot of 'melody-dynamic-power' and warmth.

are there some bad sides of the vintage, which one cannot hear in this video?

  • @stocksam I used a met for part of it, the other part not. I really like the Vintage D. It is a very expressive instrument.

  • Oh, Tom -- this is scrumptious! This appeals to

people who love lush sounds as well as those

who lean toward clean. A dreamy interpretation.

Favorited! Warm wishes from FL, ~Terry

  • @BocaFriend It's good to hear from you, Terry. Thanks!

  • Super, what accomplishment ... thanks for sharing! God Bless!

  • So fantastic harmony!

  • Beautifull!

    Your playing is so inspiring.

  • @Benspinner Thanks, that is really nice to hear.

  • super ;-)

  • You're a laid-back Keith Jarrett. Much of this has gotta be a natural gift but I wish you would have the notes shown as you play them, 7-note.

  • @mrdandrea Ha! Thanks for the KJ reference. I listened to his Paris/London recordings today in the car. I think I will do a tutorial on this one, so notes will be forthcoming.

  • How did you acquire such harmonic skill?

  • @ltbmuse I enjoy playing around with tunes and trying different harmonic approaches. It just evolves over the years.

  • Where could you have possibly learned all those LH voicings and double-handed melodic playing?

  • @tjjazzpiano From everyone who did it before me...Oh and Lennie :-)

  • This is so good. I shall listen again this evening, with the lights low and a brandy in my hand (well, in a glass!), and I shall escape into a world of freedom for the duration of your performance.

    I appreciate your talent.

    Mike

  • @Delmontedel Escape Freedom and Brandy. Sounds great to me! Thanks.

  • Simply beautiful...thank you

  • your playing leaves me both happy and sad. i adore listening to you play however i am constantly reminded how much i wish i could play like you! i play averagely well, not very good at sheet music. but i have no idea where to start with the sort of chord progressions you use!

  • @13456495819887651657

Hé ,. . you don't need to be sad - He is awesome - both in theory and in feeling of the beat - Hearing Oscar doesn't make you sad, . . I think
