  • I have a thing called "throat singing" in which one person can produce two tones. Is this throat singing or more than one person?

  • @ferret8001 Nah, he's double-tracked his voice. It's the same with the instruments - you can hear the different instrumental layers.

  • such a pity hurdy gurdies must be so expensive

  • LOVE IT. Just marked it as "favorites". Listening again.

  • LOVE IT. Just marked it as "favorites".

  • I love this, sir can I ask for translation of lyrics or something please, Im really interested :)

  • This is beautiful. Thank you for sharing it on Youtube. :)

  • One of the best songs i´ve heard for long, i can´t understand it, but it sounds beautifull. Keep on the good work :)

  • Keep it up!!. Setup a paypal account and ill buy a few for sure!

  • I'm starting to be fascinated with hurdy-gurdy. Kind of one-man-band, isn't it?

About this video - what can I say? Nothing's better than slavic music - very romantic sound.

One question - is it made entirely of softwood?

    Regards from Poland.

  • @Max0Inq I don't know about his hurdy gurdy, but I actually have a polish craftsman down as the person I want to get my hurdy gurdy from when i get one, and on his site it says he only uses softwood for the top, with hardwood for the back and sides. oh, and he is called Stanislaw Nogaj just so you know. he does a hurdy gurdy like this one called the Dziadowska Model.

  • @rabbitspliff Have your already decided what model you want to buy? And when?

Just for your information: Dziad used to mean wandering musician (something like like French troubadours... minus romantic love songs I guess) in the early medieval. Later dziad evolved to beggar, often homeless or from some minor rural communities. Until 20th century dziady were connected with some form of music but nowdays nobody link them with it. The word dziad also seems to be out of use.

  • @Max0Inq yeah, the english translation of Stanislaw Nogaj's website says his Dziadowska model hurdy gurdy is based on the beggar's lyre from Wolyn. The Dziadowska model would be the one i want to buy, with a diatonic keyboard, 1 melody string and 3 drones. I can't afford it yet so it could be a while before I can get it.

  • @rabbitspliff Wouldn't be chromatic keyboard better? I mean, diatonic is good for beginning but after you gain some experience you may want to go further.

  • @Max0Inq hmm... I know having diatonic would limit what I could play, but for what I want to play it would be fine, and it's cheaper than chromatic... Now that you've brought it up though, I'll think about it... I guess it'll depend on how much more it'll cost.

  • @rabbitspliff I think the best you can do is to talk with Nogaj himself. You know, hurdy-gurdy is not so popular instrument and people who make them usually make very few in contrary to guitars or violins that draw much more buyers and their makers need to have some spare.

I believe Nogaj won't mind if you tell him you want a fair-priced instrument with chromatic keyboard. For sure this is not a thing that can't be handled. Specially for such skilled craftsman.

  • I like this song... but, can you put the lyric please?

  • If you sell a CD or DVD, Kunaki is great for packaging and duplication.

Here's a tip to get more from Kunaki...

I always have Kunaki ship directly to me. That way I can include bonus CD / DVD content in with every order I sent to a customer. I always send a couple bonus items that are related in some way to the original item purchased. I have lots of upsells on CD and DVD which makes this super easy. It's also extremely powerful and effective. People love getting more than they ordered!

  • nice. 5 stars.

  • this song is balsam for a soul ...

  • One of the most beautiful songs ive ever heard!

  • Danke für die Liebe in dieser Musik

  • @MiroslavGrosser

Das ist Russian, nicht Deutsh! :]

  • THE BEST OF THE BEST

  • Awesome 5/5

  • gran sonidoo!!! relax total!! muchas gracias por darnos a konocer esa musicaa!!! bonito!!

  • красота!

  • Beautiful!

  • nice XD

  • GREAT VOCALS!!!

  • The strap on a hurdy gurdy is to be placed around your back, not your schoulder...

    Great tune though xD

  • Actually, the first medieval drawings and paintings of the hurdy-gurdy doesn't show a strap at all, so don't you think it's up to the musician to decide what is most comfortable?

  • You say somethin there... :P may be

  • burn...lol nice dude.

  • I like the arrangement! Question: what are the words?

    Cassy

  • the split vocals scared me at first, i wasn't expecting it lol.

    great song :)

  • А как называется этот инструмент?

Много русской народной музыки слышал, но думал что это дудки или жалейки. :0

  • Колёсная лира.

    Душевная музыка.

  • Outstanding!

Thank you for this precious piece of sounds from heaven.

  • instrument et chants...magnifique !

  • Great, great job. I'll buy your cd as soon as i have some spare money.

  • I noticed that the melodic ambitus was a sixth. Perhaps this is an example of a hexachordal tune, perhaps Medieval? I also note there is but one phrase, no antecedent or consequent (periodic) structure. Fascinating music.

  • Everyone just buy the album! You get all this great music anytime you want it. Search for it on iTunes.

  • Хорошо Андрей, мы благодарим Вас за распределение этого видео!

Это приятно слышать вас петь и играть шарманка, мне нравится этот традиционные русские песни!

    Amtiés de Rosy ♪ ♫
