  • Such an inspiring speech President Obama, Your inspiration is applicable to all Dads and Dads-to-be All around the world. Keep those positive and encouraging messages coming our way :) Best Greetings from Malaysia!

  • We can't simply write these problems off to past injustice; those injustices are real, there's a reason why our families are in disrepear, and some of it has to do w/ a tragic history, but we can't keep on using that as an excuse. feel me, Mike Ganas?

  • 26 million fatherless kids. 4 million motherless kids.

How many CHOOSE to abandon their families, vs how many are devoted parents FORCED OUT as innocent defendants in NO-FAULT divorces?

There are tens of millions of good parents who DON'T NEED to be convinced to "step up", they need to be Empowered and ALLOWED to help raise their kids!

If men and women should be equal, WHY do Democrats tolerate inequality in divorce courts?

  • very good video.

  • Obama is a truly talented speaker. Read his written speeches, you absorb the details and subtle writing under the speeches must easier. His ability to use metaphors and allusions are masterful in a way no one can doubt. I do not agree with all of Obama's policies, but if you are rebuking only his ability to write and speech, it is mistaken. He integrates ethos, pathos, and logos perfectly in a mixed balance into his speeches in a way that rivals the Greeks themselves.

  • someone needs to tell him that correlation doesn't mean causation. just because you don't know your father doesnt mean you'll go steal and kill. this speech is uninspired pandering. the president has to do more than say what everyone wants to hear, especially if it's the same thing we've been hearing forever.

  • So we should treat the extremely high crime rate of fatherless children as a coincidence. Barack was acknowledging some of the root issues of which the crime rate is a symptom. Should that be ignored, when it obviously plays a factor.

I think it's obvious there's not an automatic cause and effect, but the statistics certainly indicate something, and Barack shows by example that someone can grow up without a father and be successful. He also understands that the chances are against it.

  • a message he holds dear to his heart

  • I love to hear this man talk. Compared tot he joke that is called McCain, how can he not win?

I agree with almost every stance he has. Why isn't it november yet?Not that I can vote for him, being dutch and all. But if I could, I would.

I thoroughly enjoyed this speech up until the last minute or so. Why put the faith of Jesus Christ above all others? A generalization about having faith would have been enough in my opinion. And I believe there's a little statement about it in your constitution.

  • This is one of my favorite speeches by thee thus far! Oh yes, you are definitely one of my biggest Heroes. Please listen to this video and take heed; adhere African men, pretty please!

Mahalo Mr. Obama, for this inspiriing, essential speech.

  • This man speaks with such senserity. I just look up to him & respect him so much. He's like my freakin' idol :]

But i think he's setting a great example for all men but african american men in particular. He's living proof that anything is possible. And for that i thank him.

    Obama 08'

  • I'm not an American, so I cant vote, i wish taht I could vote so that I would give it to Mr Obama, so I ask of all you Americans to vote on Barack Obama in November

Love USA, not the government of USA b.t.w.

  • Learn how to spell before you write.

  • God bless America

  • I hope Obama wins! please let him win!!!

  • Change We Can Believe In!

God Bless The US of A and Barack Obama!

  • Unfortunately, there are those who judge the motives of a man like Obama as sinister but those of us who have the heart to love and understand all people see this man as someone special.

  • obama 08

  • Yes, Patty518, Obama was speaking of all fathers who have abandoned their kids. But he ignored the MANY kids whose fathers did NOT CHOOSE to leave, but were FORCED OUT. His assumption that absence = abandonment is as wrong as it would be to assume that low A-A voter turnout in 1840 was 'proof that they didn't really want to vote'. MILIONS of devoted dads need nothing more than ACCESS to their kids, equal protection of their fundamental parental rights.

  • If fathers are so "critical" then why do the family courts allow Parental Ailenation(PAS) to continue and say it doesn't occur? Why are dads "MIA"? Many moms (not all) with custody deny dads their court granted parenting time called possession or "visitation." Often, it's women leaving men. When a man is current on child support then there's no money for an attorney to enforce his God granted rights. Stop this CRIME against us now! Help us with our right to be involved with our children.

  • chills up my spine.

  • American in general need to reasses what should be considered and achievement and how much celebration is required. Where else in the world is passing 8th grade any sort of achievement. Glad someone is willing to tell the rest of America how naive it acts at times.

  • excellent speech. Please consider the following suggestions. Assure that the family court system is fair for both mothers and fathers. Stop labeling men felons for child support. Make requirements of education, job training, visitations, parenting classes, counseling manditory for both parents give fathers raising children same assistance, and opportunities as mothers. make the system fair. deptors prison never worked.

  • Excellent Obama with outstanding capacity,i can't wait to see you be the president

  • Please God don't let McCain win this election :)

  • If Obama wants to be a great leader or president he has to talk about painful truths. Bush, McCain, or any social leader should say the same.

  • What a great speech. I love that he is so honest about a difficult subject. He gained some major points in my presidential vote!!

  • This speech was as difficult for Sen. Obama as tying shoes.

Sadly, he gave this speech in order to attract the ears of non-Black voters who are under the [impression] that it's a difficult topic.

He would have been much more [courageous] if the subject of his speech was the particular demographic to which those ears belong...

  • As a Canadian, It seems like Stephen Harper is becoming like Bush everyday with these Taxes. If I was American I would vote for him. I hav never seen a politian speak with so much clarity in how he wants to change things, and how honest he is about his stengths and weaknesses.

The only thing I am concerned about is ppl. who are counting the votes. Remember, Obama doesn't have a cousin Mayor in Florida to get him the winning vote like Bush had in da 2001 elections against Al Gore.

  • Brilliant, inspiring, and just plain correct. Senator Barack Obama is a gift to this nation - we all need to realize how special this moment is and work with him to better this world.

  • Obama is soooo right! As a teacher, I've seen parents renting limousines when their child graduates from grade school. It's utterly ridiculous given they have a long way to go. Afterall, what can you do with an 8th grade diploma? You can't even get a job. Yes, a hand shake or a pat on the back should do. All the money some parents spend on celebrating 8th grade graduation could be invested in a money market acct or CD to help their children pursue further education beyond high school.

  • Good luck from the UK, America.

  • You can't pass a bill banning 15 year old gang bangers from buying guns. We allready have that law. Your plan is to take mine away. No thanks. I'll keep mine. You deal with your own kids. Teach them not to hate others. Especialy in the church.

  • This speech is very powerful for our community HOWEVER it is NOT just the young men who are the problem. Woman in the AA community need to stand up and be the women we're MEANT to be.

Not just having a child for a boyfriend who you KNOW is still acting like a boy and not a man.

We women deserve better and so do the children.

Mother's wouldn't have to be raising the children by themselves IF they had stood up and not just did the baby mama route.

2 sides, it has to be an equal effort.

  • I love obama and will be there to nake my vote count. We must save america. We have let past politicians tear this country down and now we must unite and take a stand and VOTE FOR OBAMA.......CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN....

  • "It was then i realized that it was my obligation to BREAK the cycle".

    Obama 08' All The Way

  • Is anybody else a little irked that he's campaigning at CHURCH? I'm glad that he's bold and willing to talk about this issue, but his speech has no biblical content. Only some of his points elude to some Christian values. (He mentions Jesus/God once in 23.5 minutes)

Barack, I'm encouraged to hear that you have good family values, but your speech makes me wonder if you're using the church as a mask to hide behind. I don't get the feeling that you're genuine about the faith you proclaim to have.

  • Wonderful!!!

Don't forget those single Fathers too!

    OBAMA '08

  • He's inspiring me to be a better person!! If he was elected President, I have a feeling that the African American community won't be as cynical and pessimistic!! Not only Blacks, but people of all colors! I'm happy he's getting most of the black votes!!

  • im voting for u

  • Good speech.........

  • A politician telling it like it is wow what a great opportunity for our country

  • Go Barack! I love this speech.

  • How awesome this would be if it was played in our schools and community centers. This man is not ashamed to tell it like it is, not as politician, but as a MAN. Please pray for him and his family during this awesome and historic time

  • My brother told me about this speech. How wonderful this could be it ALL

  • Obama 08

  • I am not African-American, nor am I a US citizen, but America kind of dictates what the rest of the world does so I am showing my support for this man. If the republican government get another term, you can wave goodbye to freedom and hello to another war. I believe that this could be your oppertunity to make good with the world. Lets hope it's not too late and that every vote is counted.

  • I'm not black, but I think we can all relate to what he said at this church. That was one of his best speeches, since it truly came from the heart.

  • Amen!

  • Vote for Obama 08!

It is possible to fix corrupt things.

  • obama would be a pretty cool comedian.

  • The reason I decided I liked Barack Obama was that his website mentioned his plans to reduce fathers that run out on their families. Neither Clinton nor McCain even MENTIONED the issue. As a teen whose father has never been around and never paid child support, it meant a lot to me that he actually realized how devastating it is to feel like your father doesn't think it's worth knowing you.

  • Sometimes i just picture him as a regular person with just his opinion nothing more,no one telling him what to say or how just one man and his views, and thats when it hits me,WOW he would make a GREAT PRESIDENT!

  • The man is always up lifting in all his speeches and he has a certain way of just inspiring you to do the right thing.I mean you cant help but feel the trust he gives and he adores his family thats great!!!

  • I've never listened to one of his speeches in it's entirety......I am sooo amazed. It's only because I've never gotten the time too....like right now I'm suppose to be getting ready for a baby shower....and you know what I may be a little late, but it's well worth it!

  • I can understand a marriage going sour resulting in the negative consequences that befall the children. I can't understand having children with no plan to get married. This should be the thrust of Obama's criticism.

  • Obama is amazing, I pray absent fathers take heed. Too many children are suffering through childhood without their fathers. Children need and deserve their fathers. America needs good fathers!

  • Thank you Obama for showing that not all black people are gangsters and thugs. There are those of us that believe in hard work and education.

  • I am all with him, except the ending, obviously. But that does not matter, the point is valid, with our without a god.

  • YES WE CAN!!!!

  • I've barely hit my 30's but by the end of the 2004 election I gave up on politics and was losing hope for my country. Mr. Obabma's positive message of respect and change has made me remember everything there is to love in America and how much potential we have to help make the world a better place. We need this man right now.

  • Thank goodness we've finally got someone to say it like it is! We need this man as an example to young people. Thank you Barack!

  • Sigh. He had me until the last minute or so when he had to bring religious nonsense into it. I know he was speaking at a church, but after all the wonderful rhetoric about personal responsibility he then had to fall back to imaginary beings.

  • phenomenal speech! can't wait for him to be President...go Obama!

  • Dear Barack,

how will you take them out of Iraq? I need to know because my brother is in the war. and i miss him very much!!!!!

  • I want to be like Obama

  • I support Obama 100%, but sometimes the childish and irresponsible behavior comes from the women. It's happening more and more these days. Either way, it's wrong. This black man is going to be involved in every aspect of my son's life as long I'm alive. Doesn't matter that me and his mom are not together. Great speech.

  • I definitely support Obama. He's the only choice for America. Also, I completely agree that fathers need to take a more active role in their children's lives. Of course, that goes for the mothers, but he gave this speach on father's day. For the record, there are responsible black fathers out there, such as myself. There are instances where the women are the childish and irresponsible ones. No matter what, it's wrong. Great speech Mr. President.

  • Hopefully Obama will inspire a generation enough to where we do see true change when it comes to fathers abandoning their children. Fathers leaving their children and not taking care of them is all too common in the African-American community. Go Obama for setting a good example and telling the truth point blank.

  • Only one thing and one thing alone stands in the way of me supporting Obama. That first time I heard him speak, I knew he was special and I admired him instantly. But I cant support him because Im pro-life and he is not. Just like most people, we have beliefs in life that we just cannot compromise. I wish him luck and I'll continue to admire him as a person but I hope he loses in every state and county and precint possible.

  • America wake up, if you believe in change not only from the top (ie the Predident: VOTE FOR BARACK) but from within, change you and you can intrinsically change the world. That is what the basis of all his speeches are about, don't use your background/history as an excuse but as a reference to make change possble. Men wake up, here is a man telling you, do better from which you came from, be the change you want to see in this world. TALk ABout Barack,I just hope we are all on board a nation.Nice

  • hey Barack, I got good news for you. you and your family are going to be able to spend more time together after November. In a real nice house on Pennsylvania Ave. !!

  • Another courageous and important speech by Barack Obama. Thank you God for Obama. OBAMA 08'.

  • I really don't like Obama, but his speech was true. I'm rather glad that he touched on a subject that I have dealt with my whole life, and will continue to deal with.

My father never took responsibility, he probably never will.

    RaeRae<3

  • Barack,

I'm happy for the history you are creating but I have concerns about you such as "Where was Barack during Jena 6? Where was Barack every time a young Black man was gunned down by the police?". Don't be a Bill Cosby. Don't go all PUBLIC with your concerns in the Black community by criticizing us. Yes, my father was a loser, but don't be too opinionated. Being raised by white people, you had privileges, the average black does not.

Make sure your messages are balanced.

  • Thank you Barack for being such an inspiration to me, as a young black british man. My mother raised me as a single parent, but black men need to start stepping up to the plate and taking responsibility and breaking the cycle!

  • This guy will turn this counrty around in a very positive way and as articulate as he is unfortunately he wont be president. Good Job Obama!!!

  • Look I love you Barack and all but dog child support is taking a chunk out my ass! And I still see my hard earned money not being spent on my child but on whatever her mother decides to spend it on. I shouldn't have to ever see my daughter in shoes that have holes in them when I pick her up because that's why I pay child support. Everybody screams support the mother but what of us dads out here trying to do the right thing and getting no justice from the courts or CSE?

  • also...I must say, while I dont know how he can possibly make men stay in their childs life, I do hope he wins, he definatly seems like a good man and I love his ideas and morals

  • This is a very good speech.

  • while I agree with him 100%

how does his speach have anything to do about changing it? If he gets in the whitehouse, how can he make that change? He talks change and we need it, but he cant change these deadbeat dads

  • Funny he did this in the black church- the nucleus of the black male dysfunction.

  • How come when a black man speaks about what other black men are doing--the truth, people find fault or instantly attack. The rev. wright comment was ignorant. Barack is a hellava man that is going to heal this nation and everybody knows it!

  • some of these woman are just to blame also, some men and woman dont want marriage, if you look at some of these court shows where the young mothers dont know who fathered their baby(both man and woman are the blame,as a Christian there are more divorces with Christians than any other faith out here. Both parents need to be active in their child/childrens life.I am a father who agrees with much of this video.God bless america and the single fathers too!

  • WOW EXCELLENT POST TY 4 SHARING

  • Did I just hear what I thought I heard? Did he actually tell all those people that change isn't gonna just come from the government? Did he really say that WE have to be responsible too? And this man is a democrat? I must say, I'm impressed.

  • not only does this man make americans have hope for the future ,he makes the whole world have hope as well .If he dosnt become president The whole world will suffer.GOOD LUCK AMERICA AND VOTE OBAMA

  • Obama knows his material first hand, he understands the plight of people but tries to encourage us to better as it should be. I love his logic and the heart of this next president and his mate. I LOVE YOU OBAMA/MECHELLE

  • Obama for President!!! McCain has no personality..he is just blank!

  • you have my vote. we need a leader like you instead of bush junior that is running against you.

  • Barack Obama's integrity is really showing in this speech. He really reminds me of my father and his views on fatherhood. Giving your child love and being there for support is most important.

  • hey were is rev. wright? we need his racial comments to lighten up this speech lol

  • hmmm idk, probly having dinner with McCains controvertial pastor.

  • Rev. Wright is no longer an active/full-time preacher at any church.

  • what i like is he says he didnt have a father figure but infact he had a grandfather help raise him maybe grandfather was a little to light for him.and his grandmother was a "typical white person".

  • Thank you so much for having the guts to speak on it, about black men's role in the black family! Thank you so much from those of us that grew up without a father in the home! My mother struggled alone, even thou my father was a successful black man.

  • WOW! .. "We need famalies to raise our children. We need fathers to recognize that there responsibility does not end at conception ... Any fool can have a child!"

  • Mr. Obama,

This speech is good, but its too polarized and absolute. The kids are due a relationship with both parents. Regardless as to whether mom and dad work out in their relationship/marriage, the child is due a relationship with BOTH parents. The father should want it... and the mother should allow it.

I applaud your efforts, and cannot wait to see you move into the white house. Thank you for continuing to challenge the mindset of Americans with your dreams.

    DeForest Mapp, MBA

  • I have to ask, did you comprehensively listen to the speech? Your comments are way less than objective. As a matter of fact they appear to be very personal. His speech was not polarizing. Of course kids need a relationship with both parents. However, he was addressing deeply rooted issues, mainly men who are abandoning their children. I challenge you to listen again and more attentively.

    Peace

  • I think he's saying children deserve a relationship with both parents, but is talking especially to fathers since it's father's day. Over 90% of single parent homes only have mothers, so he's hitting on a pretty serious social problem. You may be right that some mothers don't allow a father to engage with their children, sometimes for good reason, but too many fathers abandon their children. It's great to have a leader courageous enough to say it.

  • Yes himkdm1, I agree since it was given on Father's Day, the focus in this speech on this day was on the role of the Father in a family. It was not meant to negate the role of Mother's.

  • IT WAS FATHER'S DAY!! That's why this was directed toward Fathers. C'mon...

  • There is NOTHING polarized about this speech. The stats show the major problem is the absence/lack of engagement of fathers in black homes. I see that as a black father. I am fortunate to have a great father. I pray I can be a good father to my kids and good husband to my wife!

  • speak my AFRICAN AMERICAN BROTHER. OUR COUNTRY'S NEXT PRESIDENT. ALL ABOUT CHANGE AND PEOPLE AND LOVE..I LOVE THIS MAN

  • No one else is talking about this. Obama, you are an inspiration to this country. If you're not elected president, it would be a serious injustice to the American people.

  • True man of wisdom and he is definitely on point for change which is needed today. ;-0

  • Obama for president!!!!!! please oh please Americans, lets wake up!

  • I really hope Barack Obama will be the next president of the USA...

how can u vote for McCain?

Vote for Obama..he has great views on the future of the country and the world too!!

  • the only reason they have gone this far is because they have put their trust in Jesus Christ.

I'm so glad there's a leader like that.

  • lots of Respect For President Barack Obama you inspire and give me hope.

  • WHY RELIGION!

  • I'm SO glad he spoke on this issue. I'm a black male that grew up without a father but THANK GOD I had strong black women to raise me to be who I am. I've never been arrested, college educated and have a career as a teacher to TRY to be a role model to other black males in our community. Unfortunately that is the problem in our "hood" too many of us are having kids and not being responsible. Every day I see parents in the hood irresponsibly having kids and not wanting to care for them, its sad!!

  • after being raised by strong black women, you showed your GRATITUDE by marrying white women and degrading black women!!!

  • now here is a man speaking the truth. If anyone thinks Barack Obama doesn't understand what real change means then they don't know how well this man has a grasp on reality as millions of people see it everyday. Sen.Obama clearly understand some of the core issues in the African American community and many others facing Middle Class Americas like myself.

He's got my vote, that's for sure.

  • Don't get carried away with that eighth grade graduation! You SUPPOSED to graduate from the eighth grade! (LOL) LOVE IT!

  • This is my favorite speech of all his great speeches! I hope he makes accountability and responsibility cool!

  • He would have made a good pastor. He'll make a great Prez!

  • "you're supposed to graduate from the eighth grade"

    haha

    love this guy

  • This man tells it like it is. There is no doubt! He has articulated what the new American family should be and what it should have been, unfortunately, we haven't had great examples of leadership with any morals. We've got to bring our families together so that our children can feel the love and support they need to succeed in life. Please let's do this for the kids, it's imperative! If we don't just remember, the kids will take care of us someday when we get old . . . that could be bad, j/k

  • EUamerican, whether you have a living wage job or not, you're going to have "moral problems". It's not a black and white situation.

  • i remember in the start of the campaign race many blacks said he was not black enough or some said he just can't win, and the whites who said he is not experienced enough, america is more than black and white or democrat or republican its our citizens who make a difference, families who remember that saying it takes a village, communities looking out for one another not just for themselves. father's Day is not important as Mother's day it seems.its a fact divorce is high in christian homes

  • Art is suppose to imitate life,in some young people they want to imitate grangstar rap or violent movies(negativity).today woman can make more money than their spouse, some men make enough enough money to keep their head above water many need education and training to compete, yes i agree with responsibility that is a must not just for your family but for your country also.america is moving on the backs of the working middle class and working poor while the rich get richer

  • Change in America takes not only Obama, but the American people motivated and eager to make change themselves...

    Can't wait for Obama 2008!!!

  • Fantastic speech, this Man is a breath of fresh air! sitting watching this at home I also had to join in to give him a standing ovation!

  • We need change, the Republicans will not change a thing, I was a Republican till I saw how they are leading us down the drain.

I am voting for Barack Obama, because McCain is following Bush's policies.

  • i agree!!!! this speech touches my heart in so many ways.....

he gets it! what an amazing family this is.

    YOU WAIT AND SEE!!!!

THE TIME IS NOW! - BARACK OBAMA

  • Experience is great.

But if I'm not inspired by my leader, then I might not believe in them.

Obama inspires reform and change and that is why I like him.

  • President Obama is absolutely incredible! I cannot wait for that swearing in in January!

8 years of pure brilliance ahead!

  • WE CANT LIVE MAKING 8 dollars a hour!!

  • Why is everything with Obama about "African Americans?" I mean seriously he already had 95% of their vote for the nomination, which is now 100% in the general election. Tell me, shouldn't he be addressing ALL FATHERS whom abandon their children? I mean cmon, who's being racist here? There are abandoned children all over the world, neglecting race. If he wants equality, he should address it as such and practice what he so earnestly preaches.

  • You're missing it. Totally...

  • He did comment on the rest of the population of children who are abandoned. His emphasis was on the black community because, as he pointed out, it has the highest number of children that are being brought up by single mothers. It is not just Obama who is saying it; you can look at statistics to confirm it. He is courageous to bring this up and to discuss how the lack of support from fathers has negative effects felt throughout the Black community.

  • Obama needs to address the Court system ,,about how unfair they treat the man also...And its not just some black man ,,,its also black women,,and white man,,and woman also,, thats the problem..Not being married,,Sin ,,is what break families down..I think some just think blacks an easy target.and just blame it on us,,its funny

  • Exactly! I'm tired he used this to elevate the politically correct atmosphere and not focus on thanking the fathers who do a great job. And I've seen enough father bashing nonsense .

  • I have big ears and no experience , vote for me!

  • truly a great speech. and i realize he's giving it in a church, but he just got done talking at great length about personal responsibility, and he ends it on a note of knowing you can succeed only with the help of god. i think enough strength comes from a solid family, w/out having to throw god into the equation. but i love obama. he really is inspiring

  • Obama missed one tiny detail:

Too many fathers are never asked whether they ever consented to pregnancy and delivery, before asking for child support and parentage

  • A father consents at the time of conception.

  • Too many fathers could have used a condom if they didn't want to risk getting their partner pregnant. Birth control is the guy's responsibility, too.

  • I think its his best speech ever ... Wow

  • This man can really inspire people to do the right thing. He has to win. America, vote for Obama!!!

  • self help is the best recipe for all races. great speech!!! we r the ones... weve been waiting 4!!! us blacks shouldnt lean on welfare... or call a white man racist if the disagree with our views. there r racist! but 4 every racist is 10 others people that r great american people! hate and anger brings us down. let us all do our part in this great nation! yes we can!!! obama 08!

  • Any man who not only speaks from his heart with fierce intelligence and compassion, but also cites Chris Rock deserves to be president; he should have finished w/ the punchline: "What you want a cookie!?!"

  • i love this man! he is so awsome!

  • 5:22-5:32 it rhymes lol

  • this is the next preisdent.

    im g0ing t0

    k33p 0n

    prayin thAt

n0 weap0ns fromed against him shall prosper!!

    g3t it big 0bama

  • i almost feel bad that he's going to be crushed by McCain. just kidding, i don't feel bad at all.

  • I hope you're rich if you vote for him

  • I'm sure you worked hard and you deserve it finish and make yourself and your family proud. good luck

  • Every speech I watch he inspires me to do better and to be better. He can have faith in God if he likes, but I have faith in him.

  • a lot of 'amens' in this video. funny.

  • Didn't you listen to the speech? Get the bottle of water for yourself! Take responsiblity!

  • The problem with families in especially the inner cities is not some "moral problem."

The real problem is the need for LIVING WAGE JOBS! Because without a LIVING WAGE JOB one cannot keep a family intact. Also, the foundations of stable communities are LIVING WAGE JOBS!

We now need to gov't to help bring about change by creating LIVING WAGE JOBS so the people CAN have intact families and community stability...

  • Baloney. No other ethnic group in the inner cities, even when you control for income and education level, has such a high proportion of births out of wedlock. It's an enormously complex issue, but I suspect another factor is the hyper-masculinity and cheuvanism celebrated in Black culture via rap videos and calling women "bitches".

  • To EUamerican: I agree with on that and take it one step further. The welfare system is one of the biggest culprits of single parents household. I know this because I was working in a low wage job which did not allow me to rent or buy a house. My wife thought that we would qualify for welfare. She applied, she was accepted but there was a problem. Me. She could not have a male living in the house.

  • Excellent point.

  • ur right but i have to disagree... i was blessed to have both parents in the home and my dad didnt have the best job in america but he was there every time i had a game, or just when i needed him. money doesnt make a father lover and determnation makes a father. he loved me regardless he didnt have money to buy be the best sneakers but he was there for me in other ways and for that i truly love him.

  • What an excellent, effective speaker. Contrary to what some ppl say, that is an extremely important quality for a leader. But I think many Americans have forgotten what real leadership is.

  • I completely agree.

  • lol look how often this guy uploads vids... he s a freaking youtube geek!!!! nerd..

jk i hope this guy wins he seems like a good guy =]

  • There's nothing weak about being kind, thoughtful, & considerate. i want a president w/the character & leadership skills it takes to lead out country. As we all should know from Bush, expirience alone does not bring about real change. Inspiration, Persistance, Intelligence, & Expirience brings about real change@~!~!~!~!~!~!~~!~!~

    Obama 08'

  • This man has a true understanding of how to affect change. Not sitting around, watching TV, complaining. Change begins with each of us- at home.

  • Obama should tell scientests to make cars that run on water

  • then we wont have water...:9(

  • he brings up alot, i say, ALOT of great points...BUT, lets just see what happens in 2009/ when he is elected, because many promises always go unanswered

  • I AM A BIG FAN! I HOPE HE WINS!!

  • Ain't nothing but the TRUTH!

  • i will cry to if this mack daddy is elected

  • Americans are so lucky 2 v dis guy, i hope u ALL realise it.I wish we had someone like dis in the UK

  • how can you not vote for this guy?

  • Obama erased pigment from my mind. No more black or white. Just truth, justice, and change

  • Were just human beings that want better lives
