@CeCePearl3000 The length difference after this one year was 4inches and I trimmed about 2 inches. Therefore my hair grew 6 inches per year and that's pretty normal.

I would recommend getting a trim every 6- 8 weeks to remove split ends. Cutting the split ends helps the hair grow much faster, and it keeps it nice and healthy. c:

Normal hair grows about a half an inch a month. Just massage your scalp gently with your finger tips while you're shampooing. Doing this will cause nutrients and blood to travel to your scalp, thus causing hair growth.

You can grow it out and you don't have to style it if you don't want to. I'm growing mine for the first time in my life (male) and I've been enjoying it. It's lame at first (awkward stage where it won't lay down), but I'm almost 2 years in now (from basically bald) and it's about shoulder length and is much more manageable now. I just let it lay loose. If you want to ponytail it that's really easy too, once it gets a little longer. You should give it a try if you want to.

I'm growing out from a mid-short bob. The longest part in the back was past shoulders but I knew I wanted one length hair so I bit the bullet yesterday and had it all cut off to level with the shortest sides to even out a wedged bob with hidden layers. @ebie4ever You can't do anything to make hair grow fast, sadly. Scritching helps. That's using the pads of your fingers or your wide tooth (preferebly bohn or horn) comb to gently rub your scalp to stimulate blood flow. Either way it's good for your scalp. It won't be a noticeable speed up, but if you notice how finger nails grow faster than toenails, blood flow does make a huge difference.

@lickmesillyu I have an average growth rate. About 0,5 inches a month. I do nothing to let my hair grow faster, I simply do not cut ;). Maybe the growth looks like more because I'm small (about 5'2") ;)
