As a long time fan though, I think this record is the first time she's consciously embraced country. Jann's always had more than a little country in her, but I think that was always downplayed on purpose to... I guess maintain her traction as a "pop" artist. In that sense I'd venture to say that yesh... she is finally free from that.

Yes, she's country! Geez. She co-wrote the song in NASHVILLE, for chrissake! AND was a headlining act at the Canadian Country Music Awards in 2009. YES, Jann' music is country -- a very good kind of country.
