I love Aniki because he also believes in the B&B formula (bomb and boomerang). He also supports my theory that Link's upB is a great move to surprise a dodger with.
I don't like knowing there are Aniki vids because my friend is stealing all his moves without knowing it. Those surprise angled bombs and boomerangs keep annoying me so hard in friendlies xD
1:59-2:03 Dude! Link's F-tilt totally pwns Marth's recovery. Aniki had Korius practically at his mercy, too bad he screwed it up. Love that and gotta remember that.

The Marth seemed to have trouble against the Link on this particular level. Link's projectiles gave him more versatility it seems. Also, Aniki recovers amazingly well with Link...bombs + grapple he can come back from almost anywhere.

Aniki is not the best player just because he has beaten Ken. And shouldn't a different stage be played? Dream Land has too much interference with Whispy blowing one side all the time. A stage like Battlefield or Final Destination should be played.
Perhaps aniki isn't very good at finishing people off, and is making up for it by having a superb projectile game. OR, he doesn't like edgeguarding, and wants to avoid having to edgeguard as much by doing finishers at higher percentages. OR, he just naturally harrasses people with projectiles, and their percentages happen to be high at the end of his combo that leads to a finisher. What i'm saying in this last possibility is that it could just be his rhythm, so to speak...
aniki's link is bad ass! hmm... i play y.link but their moves(power) are different...
ie link's D-smash hits the opponent and he goes up, y.link's D-smash hits the opponent and flys left or right off the platform... link's F-smash (1st hit) makes the opponent fly off, but the second hit makes him/her go upward... y.link's F-smash (1st hit) kind juggles the opponent for the 2nd hit to make them fly left or right off the platform... etc.etc.etc.etc.
BEAUTIFUL! Aniki looks like a pro guys. Balder 06 does have a point. HIgh damage is meant to kill the enemy getting the damage higher is good, but in the mean time your own life is in danger.
As a Link player, I am very impressed with Aniki's fighting level and the way he use the character ability against a foe that it's two or maybe three times faster. I have been watching his fights since some time ago and the only thing that bug me is that he take too much time to hit the final blows. Korius damage at the end of every life was: 188, 143, 192 and 189 respectively while Aniki's damage was: 121 and 150.
good point, but i believe he sometimes lets dammage get so high to taunt opponents, like in the aniki vs ken match he gets ken to like 200 dmg so eh can upthrow him for a kill on his last stock. Or it may be because his opponents expect him to go for finishing moves, so he throws in weak ones to throw them off. Ultimately thsi is just my guess >.<

No it hasn't. It was put in the game so that characters wouldn't air dodge through the stage. If there was no wavedashing, THAT would be a physics flaw.
And in any case, Link doesn't need wavedashing. Aniki plays smart. He uses techniques based on whether they work, not on whether they're flashy or "advanced."

He nearly pulled off a near impossible recovery (when his chain hooked on, I thought he was home safe, but then Marth up-smashed on him). The knock off the platform occured at 3:06 and the KO at 3:15.

What the pros do is they drop of the edge (by pressing down or away from the stage) and then jump while doing their aerial. Timing is a little tricky, but it's worth learning.

how do u get out of stun in midair without attackin or jumpin???? cuz i saw link do it when he couldnt jump then he air dodge and grabed to the side of stage. i just want to know how he got out of stun in midair if he didnt have another jump and also without using attacks
lol but link is more of a melee attacker imo. Link's power is seriously strong compared to y-link's, and that's why young link's projectiles are stronger. Although it is smart to fight long ranged he does have a master sword for a reason.
Marth has a surprisingly hard matchup against good links... It's really hard to get past the Rang and Bombs with a lot of characters the first couple times you play it.
Yall really wouldn't be saying Germ is that great if you watched more of his entire matches. The mass Item spam styles of link seems to do a lot better than more melee oriented styles of link :x
But we play almost exactly the same (I even use white Marth), but I'm better with spacing/tippers and playing smarter against projectiles and *occasionally* (still working on it) L-Cancelling.
But comparing this to Ken's Marth I can see how L-Cancelling helps so much. Wow.
3rd. Does anyone know how old these matches are? I believe they were originally put up on Jack's site like, over 2 years ago, so they're at least that old. Both players are now most likely substantially better. You can't argue over such old material. That's all...
2nd. All this gabber about Germ and Aniki. Aniki's better. Germ isn't that great. Every single noob in the world worhips DBR and Germ b/c they released kool combo vids. Germ has never placed, 'cept in local tournies, and has gotten beaten by all the top players at one time or another. And besides, Germ isn't even the best Link in the US. Aside from Azen, who doesn't count, Ricky's better than him too.
Alright, few things to clear it up, since everyone seems to always wanna argue: 1. Ken is the best b/c, as they said, he has the best mindgames, which are for the most part unseen. After a certain point technical skill doesn't even become a factor anymore. You try playing him. I garauntee you will get 4 stocked.
oh and 1 thing... if aniki is an item fighter, then why doesnt he play young link? all his items are stronger than link's :p well thats what i think xD
You think correct my friend, only worse thing about Y.Link's items is his Hookshot doesnt go as far. Preffereably i would choose Y.Link over Link as well, but hes harder to short hop with.

That was amazing...bomb-tech -> hookshot. If only Aniki would have made back onto stage, I would have believed that to be the most spectacular Link come-back I've seen. Now, I know why bomb-tech is so important...
Do you people really know that much? How can you compare pro players like that? Stop judging emptily. BTW I was amazingly impressed by Ken's playing from the 1st time I saw it. His mindgames are superb. I played a lot of attention since I wanted to get pro myself (getting there, need more experience).
That's because most of Ken's proficiency is rooted in mindgames and reading his foes, not the brand of tech skill shown by, say, Chillin or Darkrain. Those are things that you have to look real hard for in a video, and you'll be lucky (or very observant) to find them.
And GERM is sheer tech skill. 4-stock by Isai, anyone? If Aniki could thrash Ken when they first met, I doubt GERM is anywhere near Aniki's level.
IMO, i've always seen ken as overrated, and still think that way. You watch his fights and they aren't impressive at all, i don't know how he manages to win MLG tourneys.
Aniki and Germ are the best link users, but exact opposites. Germ is easily the better melee fighter while Aniki is easily the better item user. I think that would be an interesting fight, but Aniki would most likely win because he can keep his opponents at a distance

Basically it is a move that abuses the physics of the game. It makes it look
as if you slide across the ground, when really you are airdodging. It looks
like you are sliding, but really it is just using a low angled air-dodge to
stop your jump so close to the ground that it is impossible to see. You need
fast fingers to wavedash, so those who play fast characters (Falcon, Falco,
Fox) may already have the speed to pull one off.

3rd. Does anyone know how old these matches are? I believe they were originally put up on Jack's site like, over 2 years ago, so they're at least that old. Both players are now most likely substantially better. You can't argue over such old material. That's all...

2nd. All this gabber about Germ and Aniki. Aniki's better. Germ isn't that great. Every single noob in the world worhips DBR and Germ b/c they released kool combo vids. Germ has never placed, 'cept in local tournies, and has gotten beaten by all the top players at one time or another. And besides, Germ isn't even the best Link in the US. Aside from Azen, who doesn't count, Ricky's better than him too.

Alright, few things to clear it up, since everyone seems to always wanna argue: 1. Ken is the best b/c, as they said, he has the best mindgames, which are for the most part unseen. After a certain point technical skill doesn't even become a factor anymore. You try playing him. I garauntee you will get 4 stocked.

oh and 1 thing... if aniki is an item fighter, then why doesnt he play young link? all his items are stronger than link's :p well thats what i think xD

You think correct my friend, only worse thing about Y.Link's items is his Hookshot doesnt go as far. Preffereably i would choose Y.Link over Link as well, but hes harder to short hop with.

aniki's way of playing is just special, almost no advanced techs (i like the dbr evolution, but do they EVER shield roll?? not that thats a bad thing :p) just also i think a item fighter is more skilled than a melee fighter :) PS Germ doesnt suck they are both good :p

Yea Aniki doesnt use almost any advanced tactics but he has mind games like crazy, Also Germ is just really fast with link so yea.... I dont know who I'd take (Aniki vs Germ) but It would be a good match

I found that amazing too, he dosnt wave dash and he HARDLY ever rolls. its amazing , his style contridicts all teh advanceed pros And I think thats why he always wins.

wow aniki uses his boomerangs and bombs for mindgames and set up VERY well. impressive how he doesnt SHFFL or wavedash, maybe cuz link has a pretty poor wavedash.

That was amazing...bomb-tech -> hookshot. If only Aniki would have made back onto stage, I would have believed that to be the most spectacular Link come-back I've seen. Now, I know why bomb-tech is so important...

Do you people really know that much? How can you compare pro players like that? Stop judging emptily. BTW I was amazingly impressed by Ken's playing from the 1st time I saw it. His mindgames are superb. I played a lot of attention since I wanted to get pro myself (getting there, need more experience).

That's because most of Ken's proficiency is rooted in mindgames and reading his foes, not the brand of tech skill shown by, say, Chillin or Darkrain. Those are things that you have to look real hard for in a video, and you'll be lucky (or very observant) to find them.
And GERM is sheer tech skill. 4-stock by Isai, anyone? If Aniki could thrash Ken when they first met, I doubt GERM is anywhere near Aniki's level.

IMO, i've always seen ken as overrated, and still think that way. You watch his fights and they aren't impressive at all, i don't know how he manages to win MLG tourneys.
Aniki and Germ are the best link users, but exact opposites. Germ is easily the better melee fighter while Aniki is easily the better item user. I think that would be an interesting fight, but Aniki would most likely win because he can keep his opponents at a distance

Wow, you're an idiot. Aniki is top 3 in japan, and it seems you were not even watching the match he only "camped" when there was 5:10 left in the match and was only 10 seconds long. He only did it to rack up damage quick.
