  • Beautiful!!

  • EXCELLENT!!!

  • great :)

  • This song is so much fun to do, it's amazing. =]

  • great loved it, everything, how it looked, the clapping the singing was also AMAZING!

  • Oh man, I'd forgotten about this song. I was a soprano on the left, and although we'd learned the tune and the words earlier, Dr. Powell told us to basically just watch him because we were going to be singing off the cuff.

So we never actually knew what we were going to be singing next; we had to wait for him to mouth the words he wanted. That's why there's a little bit of a delay on everyone clapping in the middle--we didn't know it was coming!

  • lol i like the drums...we always did it a capella..its a diff feel

  • This is a song that every choral singer should know/sing/or have heard in their life.

I'm glad you did the clapping in the middle, it brings something special to the piece.

  • how do you you get the lyrics im trying to learn the song

  • They were taught to us by the director. They are:

    "Gabi, gabi bash abaz awan.

    Gabi, gabi bash abaz awan.

Si yoshiwa kona, si dal ubuz awan.

Si yoshiwa kona, si dal ubuz awan.

    Praise the Father, Liberator, Lord.

    Praise the Father, Liberator, Lord.

He frees all the captives and gives the hungry bread.

He frees all the captives and gives the hungry bread."

    Hope that helps. :)

  • I am not sure who posted this, but I needed to hear it to prepare for a concert tomorrow. This is a beautiful South African song!

  • This is absolutely AMAZING.

  • YES!! GOOD!!! I sang this at a choral festival in September 2007 held in Mississippi.

  • I wish the audio was better in sync so I could see how exactly Dr. Powell worked out the clapping section.

  • The clapping was considered "free" - he gave us no directions - just to clap as we desired.

  • yeah I love how it sounds organized anyway...

    this was so much fun
