  • what´s smarter roland sh201 or this one...?

  • one of my friends uses the sh201 and I think that both are great sounding synths, the sh201 is definatly easier to use for quick programming and making custom sounds, but it is more expensive. You can get similar sounds from both and I would say go for the microkorg if on a tighter budget, but if you have enough funds definatly go for the sh201

  • the korg microkorg so good

  • i heard jump ha

  • 3:04 to 3:12 was awesome!

  • dude whats the song at 0:25?

  • can you just play four notes at the same time??

  • the polyophony of the microkorg is 4 notes,

    so yes

  • i like that first sounds im sure you got that from a original funk jam

  • Herbie Hancock's Rockit

  • miiiinnnntttt

  • 0:22 love the beck song!!

  • what are the presets for the 3rd set??? that is dope!!!

  • wats the 3rd song

  • Hurray for BECK!!!!

  • Where it's at!

  • This is torture for people that don't have one! Baha.

I'm getting one next weekend. I'm so excited about it.

  • Didn't realise it was capable of making quite convincing combo organ sounds too!

  • yeah! i loved the herbie hancock at the beginning!

  • cant wait till i get one :)

  • You Change Sound And Can Record By

Its Midi Out Cable Input/Output Then Connect It To Your Computer And If You Have Other Equiptments Like A Mini Recording Studio In Your Room Or Something You Can Make A Whole Song.

  • Does the small keys on it make it harder to play or does it get in the way?

  • makes it faster

  • Micro Korg

  • can you actually like play a song on it and then play it back... does it record like that?

  • Unfortunately not, you can't record playback - only the parameters of the patches you develop.

  • It doesn have a loop function or anything where you can record and play it back

  • have you used it as a processor for other insruments? like running a guitar or even plugging in an ipod? also how's the vocorder?

  • You can plug an iPod into the audio input and manipulate it like you say (there is actually a video tutorial here on YouTube showing you how to do this), but I haven't tried a guitar yet.

  • can you record stuff on then save it?

someone please reply i need to know!

    Thx

  • Yes, just push "shift" and the "8" key at the same time then twist the "cutoff" dial until it says "off" and then push "store" twice and it's saved :) It was hard for me to figure out too; I had to watch a tutorial.

  • That will save the sound. You can't actually record what You play.

  • As in you can play something and save it? like a loop? Iv had mine about a month but havn figured it out completely and it would be cool if thats what you mean?

  • ableton live. or a boss loop station pedal. or any DAW if you only want to save midi.

  • search youtube 4 'ableton live looping'

  • i think you can record it on computer and save it as a loop. then play other stuff to go with the loop on the keys

  • hey dude awesome video! im thinking of getting one of these for my band.

A question.... can you play things record em and save them?

  • is that a little beck reference around :40? good taste, amigo

  • Just bought myself a Microkorg, and its ace, but i cant for the life of me work out how to play one sound on top of another like they do in the demos, can anyone help??? cheers!

  • also does it have an arpeggiator and is there a way to modify the notes in the arpeggio ???

  • it does have an arpeggiator and u can modify the different patterns it uses to arpeggiate the notes like up and down and random ... but u can not individually select what notes to arpeggiate or not

  • You can switch each arpeggio step on or off.

  • can u use this as a midi controller?

  • yes u can use it as a midi controller but if u want to use it with a computer u hafta get a midi to usb cable because it doesnt have a usb midi output

  • if i use a digidesign mbox which has a midi in and out that will work right ( with a regular midi cable that is)

  • yep i think it should work out

  • Where can i find a cord to go from my microkorg to a laptop?

Like are they both just usb's on both sides?

  • if you get a 1/8th inch size audio cable then connect that with a 1/4th inch converter jack to the headphone output of the microkorg then connect the other end to the microphone input of ur laptop u should be able to play it and record through ur computers microphone input

  • Korg Micro X OR Microkorg???

    Cheers :)

  • Microkorg

  • Both :D (I have, anyway :D)

  • how do you make synth pprogrammes because im really thinking of getting a microkorg

  • does the korg have a piano setting

  • it doesn't have a piano sound programmed

  • hi men! can I ask a question?..

look.. i'm thinking of buy a microkorg, cause i love how it sounds!! .. also i play guitar so i have a doubt!

can i connect my electric guitar to an out-put of the microkorg to maybe play the guitar with the effects of the microkorg? i would be gratefull if you answer me :)... thx!!

  • yess you can definately plug in a guitar into the microkorg and get some pretty cool effects out of doing this.

  • thx men! jaaj i think i will buy it so! thx again :D

  • so you can also connect your korg to an amplifier immediately then?

Or do you always have to use a computer?

  • you can connect it to an amplifier or a computer

  • Please what is the third and fourth song names, i forgotten, i know this riff i'm sure :)

  • the third is Where it's At by Beck and the fourth is Green Onions by Booker T and the MG's

  • getin my special edition microkorg synth wed ...so excited!!!

  • cool stuff

  • thats a good ass syth for its price

  • You got my attention as soon as I heard Beck.

  • getting one of these today. looks like i won't be dissapointed!

  • In one of my projects we have couple of these too. I was surprised at first, and dulled lil later on. Surprised that it can sound pretty good, but then even with tweakin i think it all the time sounded the same ya know. It became really really dull. perhaps i was just shitty @programming it but that's how i feel. I would get better like ion if i'd want to use modelling ones.

  • sweet

  • does anybody know of a webpage or some place that has microkorg patch "recipes" so one can only copy the parameters to get a particular sound?

  • Thanks man!!

Because of this video with it embarassing thin sounds I won't ever buy myself a Microkorg!

  • hey!

    rockin chameleon at the beginning!

  • what program do you use to record on your computer??

can wait to get my korg!!!

    good job.

    5*s

  • -thanks!

i use ACID XPress by sony. you can download it for free off of their website.

  • wow thanks man..

  • Can you please tell me what the settings are for the sound at 2:28ish-2:50ish? Thanks you.

  • the first string sound is B.68 the second is A.68

  • tell me how to make the sound at 5:46-5:56

    i need to know

  • A.43 brah!

  • what amp are you using? what watt is it?

  • in this video i had the microkorg connected directly into the computer and used a recording program to record the sound.

  • When u played this sounds are you conecting the korg to a computer ?

  • yea it was connected into the audio input in my computer and recorded using a program.

  • Ok thanks man !

  • WOW that was some nice sounds !! Im thinking of buying one but do i need to plug it in to the computer to hear the sounds ?

  • you can plug it into any kind of speaker system or amplifier to hear the sounds

  • are there any dreamy pad type of sounds you can get out of this?

  • ya u can get some pretty cool pad sounds. There are some good preset ones and it is also good for making them.

  • daaaaaaaaaaamn these sounds are good .. i have got to get me one of these

  • Herbie RUles ;)

  • It's one of the best sound demos of Microkorg on the whole YouTube. Great job!

  • thanks!

  • did i hear someone play a little bit of Devo in this? hmmm? hmmm

    so whip it...whip it good

  • du du du du du- du crack du crack

  • ive just ordered th elimited edition reverse keys microkorg !!!

  • how ha5rd is this to learn?

  • its not to hard and once u know all the controls and how to edit patches its really fun

  • this thing is so much more capable than this demonstration... :/

  • chaa this was when i first got it so i didnt really understand the full editing capabilities, now its crazy what patches you can make with this thing

  • hmm... this synth rocks anyway

    nice playing, dude ;)

  • question: can u play drum with it, too?

  • no it doesn't have any drum sounds or loops

  • great synth i'm gettign one on ebay before long

  • i love the devo part, great demonstration, ill probably buy one of these because of this

  • yea the microkorg is an all around great synth

  • i'm getting the motif xs but I'm getting this too.

  • man u gotta show me a guide of how to get the settings from 6:55-7:18! ASAP! Awesome stuff!

    Peace....

  • yeah good call with the rap beats thing, cos when i get mine me n my mates wanna make some comedy rap things, i was jst gonna use some of the drum fx n go over them, good idea?

    Peace....

  • yeaa this synths pretty much good for anything so that will probly work out good

  • i'm a synth noob with a noob question. does this have speakers built in or do you have to plug some in. if so what cheap ones would you recommend?

  • the microkorg doesn't have speakers built in but getting speakers depends on what u want to use them for, if ur gonna play live then i recomend roland amplifiers, but just for practice at home i use regular computer speakers

  • i agree.

i got a cheapy amp from under my bed.

the sound quality was pretty pants.

then brought out my hefty roland amp.

    so much better.

  • is that the sound of lock stock & 2 smockin barrels that u paly on 00:50??
