In the early 1990s me my brother and neighbor saw a RECTANGULAR craft with multicolored non blinking lights under it. It moved silently and had to have been 1000 foot across it was huge. This was in Illinois about 17 miles from St.Louis. My question is what the hell was it?

i saw a triangular object in the sky , in the UK just last week . on 19th January 2012 . Not quite what i see here . What i saw was very angular and lights eminating from the edges of object (lights were as bright as a full moon) .

I love all these naysayers who come onto the most impressive UFO videos and proceed to tell you they are unable to identify it, but then continue to offer their authority on what it isn't. In addition, its appearance is unconventional, so we know its abnormal, increasing the odds of it being experimental like you submitted, or even paranormal, most likely one of those two.

So given its appearance, the odds of it being conventional are reduced, the odds of it being experimental are very much increased, and the odds of it being paranormal are also increased. Why rule out paranormal when its odds were just increased, for no reason other than no miracles occurred

@dtoma555 Your logic suggests anything flying that 1 can't immediately identify CAN be assumed paranormal. Search "experimental aircraft" on google images; take a look at the results. None of the highly unusual craft are paranormal, although all of them are abnormal in relation to conventional aircraft. Paranormal implies the object defies logical normality. It's not abnormal for stealth/sonic NASA/military planes to be triangular. Blurry, out-of-focus footage of a linear aircraft doesn't = ETs

To be honest I think I'm just traumatized from other videos where people are way more guilty of excluding the paranormal, when the object is the absolute form of abnormality, the very height of what is weird and unexplainable, and they just automatically say Experimental Craft, couldn't be alien they dont exist. They might ultimately be right in the end, but their philosophy excludes options that they can't rule out. UNSCIENTIFIC

I hate to rain on your parade, but "there's no FAA lights on it" because planes don't turn on their regulation strobe lights until it gets dark. Not to say this isn't some sort of unknown experimental aircraft or something, but your main point of conviction doesn't apply here. It's an oddly shaped craft; i'll give you that, but i don't think it's alien, or anything paranormal. It's not doing anything that defies normal capability of everyday airplanes, or physical law so I wouldn't get too hyped
