First of all, you'd be supporting The Protomen. Second, you get the full experience; the album's insert has the lyrics along with liner notes that contain the setting and what is happening during each song.
For some reason Mega Man appeared to be more emotive than other video game heroes, which is strange because he's a robot and his facial expressions ranged from :| to :O but I think it was the plots that appeared to be happening around him that made him seem so emotive, the missing brother, the worried father, the loyal dog, the empathetic sister, and then his slight facial expressions in the opening sequences. He was one of the best characters on the NES.
It's a reimagining of a story, but, the story didn't even really exist in the original games, it was just sparse text and pantomime, and you had to make up stuff like character motivations and internal conflicts on your own. It's not really BASED on the ACTUAL Mega Man canon, it's just based on an interpretation of the story one might've had. "It's the story that could've been there but wasn't." There's just really no elegant way to say it because it's a complicated type of derivative art.
I guess when you put it like that, it really was the best way to explain the concept with minimal verbiage. However the old story telling of video games was wonderfully simple compared to the some of the newer styles of too much plot or extra dialogue to try and cover up mediocre gameplay. Ah the elegance that was the side-scrolling era.
This song is somehow so powerful. I gotta download this...

No, dude. Buy the album itself.

So, definitely buy the album instead. :D

I meant like buy it from their MySpace...
But you've got a point about owning the real album.

Ah, I see. Well, that's cool too. I just think you wouldn't get the whole experience. Y'know.
High five to you though for not merely downloading it, though. :D

This is pretty badass. I've always loved Mega Man above all other video game heroes, for some reason. He is just the epitome of awesome.

Hear that boom? That was my brain exploding out of my ear from the sheer cool of this video.
I also soiled myself but that was completely silent. No boom. But caused by coolness as well.

"reimagining of a possible interpretation of the implied storyline" lol?
Aside from that, cool concept.
