It would've been epic if they added the barn at the end. I am crazy about symbols. The barn symbolized the start of their friendship, thus, "one stormy night." This movie reminds me of a relationship I have with a person. I would risk my life for him. I wish wolves and goats can live in peace. The Bible says that the wolf will lay down with the lamb in the next life. That would be like "One Stormy Night" come true! :)

@ropeburn2 Mei is voiced by a male actor in the Japanese version of the movie. In the original books, Mei was never given a specific gender. So I kept Mei male in the movie, to be true to the movie version of the story.

Goats' horns don't discern male from female, except in mountain goats, whose horns grow around the back of their head to form that battering-ram helmet.
Hated the ending. Gabu and May ended up running away from their problems. Running away is never the answer. Even though it worked out of them the whole story fails because of it.

And sadly, sometimes running away *is* the answer, if you want to survive in the face of idealisms that could prove lethal to you. Whilst it's noble to think all challenges should be faced, the world doesn't always work that way...

If Gabu and May cared about each other more then anything in their old home then it would be understandable, and in support we don't know much about May's and Gabu's friends. @AflacMan13 The dialogue has been tweaked just a little to make it slightly *less* suggestive than the direct Japanese translation, but most of it is a faithful direct translation with some paraphrasing to suit the existing animation.
This was such a good movie! I applaud the voice over team! and the original animators and writers! This movies was so good and would have been such a bother to have read subtitles and not be able to witness the true beauty of the animation. Thank you!
@EdTheBadass Well, the amount of time passing after the avalanche is unclear, but by the way Mei says, "It's spring already." We know it's been a while since he jumped into the river. He does have Amnesia, some people survive avalanches, but I guess he hit his head or something. :3

@CaptainRedWolf Personally, I like this story better than "The Fox and the Hound", because there's something really moving about the two friends' determination not to let anything break their bond. Though it's sad that Copper was torn between his human master and his fox friend, it's always angered me that he would turn his back on all their childhood memories so easily, that he'd come to enjoy hunting and would seek revenge after Chief got injured while trying to kill his old friend. :(

I think of this as a very gay history... I'm not saying it's bad, in fact, I think it's nice, but is hard to believe a friendship like that, coz the "we'll always be together" is more like for someone who is in love.

I think of this as a very gay history... I'm not saying it's bad, in fact, I think it's nice, but is hard to believe a friendship like that, coz the "we'll always be together" is more like for someone who is in love.
Anyway, as a lot of people, I also cried at the end. Amazing history, and the voices were excellent. I haven't seen the japanese version, but I think I'm gonna keep this one. Thanks for the movie, and congratulations !
