  • Coal power plants in the U S produces 52% of our electricity. We try and shut these plants down, you ppl go home to a dark house. You think wind, or solar gonna take the place of coal your wrong. And yes they do store the co2 some place 10,000 ft in the ground ( in some locations ) and engineers are coming up with new ways to fight against the co2 emissions. Coal isnt going anywere, i'd be more consirned about the nuke plants eposing there spent rods, there is no place to put them.

  • Coal companies claim they capture all these deadly chemicals. Ok where do they put them. No it does not go into concrete that is a bigger lie than the first one. one plant is 100 rail cars a day. That is a lot of ash. You would have to build a two lane highway to the moon. Sick idiots.

  • How do you know when the coal company wonks are lying? Their lips are moving. They do not filter anything. Ask them where they put all those bags of toxic chemicals? OOOOOppps A bunch of baby killing liars. These men will burn in hellllll

  • No kid the only thing you are going to catch is cancer that eats your insides out. Do you really think these worthless cowards actually care. What they just decided it was a good idea to stop dumping billions of tons of toxic sludge into the air and water-your an idiot

  • You mean take your mind off killing babies. Yes, you worthless cowards. You kill babies and you peddle your toxic sludge and then have the gall to lie about it. You men will burn in helllllll

  • the coals so clean I can fish in slow motion!

  • When I hear the words clean coal, I think of the word oxymoron, then I just think of the word moron.

  • For five to ten miles around our coal fired generating plant cars, patios and roofs are covered in a fine black ash. The plant owners and the state say it isn't coming from the plant. There is no other industry here except that plant. There is no ash showing up outside the ten mile radius. There is very little ash opposite the prevailing winds pattern. Everyone knows the plant owners and state are lying. Local residents were able to stop a second generator from being built.

  • ur "clean coal" plant is super critical BS

u cant make coal clean it will always be dirty...so stupid

  • Propaganda :DDD very silly

  • mmmmmm mercury adds a nice flavor to that fish Thank you coal industry Dirty secrets - keep kidding yourselves

  • Where do we put the unclean stuff they strip from the coal? Clearly the "old dirty coal" isnt the same as the "new clean coal" right? So "dirty" stuff is condensed and stored somewhere, right?

  • Clean coal is a hoax. It is about the air AND the water. As far as the one who said "...all the trees we could save"... you obviously dont know we get coal by blowing off tops of the moutains and pretty much leveling the landscape, in turn TREES ARE LOST! AND LANSCAPES AND WILDLIFE RUINED AND KILLED!

  • This video certainly exemplifies the vague nature of the term "clean coal". The units built at Council Bluffs might be great at removing "traditional" pollutants like SO2 and NOx, as well as boosting the heat-to-electricity efficiency of the plant, but carbon dioxide is still emitted to the atmosphere and the coal still has to be mined (CO2 is extremely difficult to eliminate, mining impossible to eliminate).

  • People WTF is going on? CLEAN COAL IS NOT AN AIR QUALITY ISSUE,IT IS AN WATER QUALITY ISSUE! Have the ozone discussion all you want. The EPA has NO regulations on the ash dumped into "red pits" and the clean coal strageties only take more out of the smoke and concentrate it in a new form of ash. IT IS TOXIC AS ALL GET OUT! contains almost every toxic heavy metal including arsenic and lead. Entire communities have seen new "unknown" cancers. CLEAN COAL IS NOT POSSIBLE EITHER WAY. wake the f up!

  • What theyre saying is that they have found a way to burn coal cleaner. Using filters and other technological resources. Theyre even talking about possible wireless electricity for the future. That would be great! Think about the all the trees we could save, not having to have power poles every 100 ft or replacing them every 3-5yrs. Our tech. is come a long ways since the begining, we have created things that would help save the planet and the future of mankind but rght now cost too much.

  • Coal is the answer. It's one part of the answer.

Watch out for those dudes blasting coal as "dirty" and dangerous. They just want to push a Global Carbon Tax down your throat.

  • Those folks'talking points that coal is bad sound much like the post WW2 propaganda by Big Oil and GM that electric Trolleys in all the major cities were useless. There is nothing wrong with the new technology Big Oil will lose $Billions! It's either nuclear like France or clean coal technology, and conversion of American coal resources into liquid fuels. Smells like the strategies of the idiots telling us the "war" in Iraq, would be paid for by Iraqi oil production.

  • he wont be eating those fish for much longer if he knows whats good for him...

  • what do you mean? fish is really healthy

  • yes fish are good for you but not if they are from a polluted body of water?

  • Clean coal is a LIE. Some plants can be cleanER but the only good reason to construct one of these cleaner plants is to REPLACE an older dirtier plant. Every time you build an additional plant you just make our environmental problems worse by increasing CO2 emissions faster, blowing up mountains faster, creating more water shortages, and prolonging the myth of high consumption lifestyles.

  • DurrrrHaaah!!! Coal is not a Renewable Resource, when it is gone, IT IS GONE!!!

  • This is BULL. There is no such thing as "clean coal". All coal is dirty. They are saying that MAYBE in 20 to 30 YEARS, they will find a way to burn coal cleanly. IT DOES NOT EXIST TODAY, and this is just another way coal and oil companies are lying to the public.

  • They plan to build a coal fired plant here in my town. It will produce 0.435 tons of lead and 0.037 tons of mercury per year.

1/70th of a teaspoon of lead will pollute a 25 acre lake.

Good advice for that kid would be to not eat the fish.

  • If you're going to spend thousands on a glossy video, for god's sake be clever at least. The problem with coal is not with fish!
