Hy Blixoz.I just buyed a macbook pro 13 inch and I have the same problem with that high pithced sound noise. The sound appears when the fan it's going up to 3000 rpm or more. Can you tell me how did you fixed this problem? It's very annoying
It turns out that you can't do nothing about it., I've been comparing with many MacBook Pros now and they all sound like that when the fans are spinning fast.
This isn't normal. I occasionally run Windows XP in bootcamp for a game or two. The MBP becomes a bit hotter and the fans spin a bit louder (im guessing around 3400 RPM) than normally in Mac OSX 10.5.8 but nothing excessive.
bloody hell they are ramped up! my machine has never done that under load. Especially at 63degrees. If you havent got it, download smc fan control, its free and you can control both fans independantly.
my late 06/early07 macbook pro has an x1600 256mb card and im not sure what the problem is, but the fans run at 6000 and even using smcFanControl i can not get them to quiet to like 4000 or 3000. It just does nothing.
@nositiocerto I have a MacBook Pro unibody, 13", and I use a laptop cooler all the time. Even though it's not blowing into the fans, it's cooling the bottom metal, which then cools down the components inside. I know it from experience myself.
this always happens to me when playing a game, or running windows.. just running windows nothing else. then i tried playing portals, it got soo hot the mac crashed itself..
Ive installed all the drivers for it. windows works perfect with no problems, its just when you run anything the fans will kick in and get loud, then crash.. Im not sure if my windows copy is the problem, i just need to find someone to lend me a vista copy and ill try that. When running macosx the fans dont kick in as loud, though the computer gets hot. We dont have an local apple store here. Id have to send it away.
Ill look into that, Id just like to play my windows games again. I have Windows XP SP2, the backlight on the keyboard wont turn off in windows also.. Ill have to do a reinstall of Windows 7, or Vista. Well currently my computer has the temperature monitor on, Lowest temp is 32Celsius, highest is 80Celsius. And I hear no fans, so Xp is running hotter then that..
i also play wow and fan is pissing me off

@nicedayforme Try resetting the SMC, it helps with power management and hardware utilization.

Sounds weird, have you checked for dust?

Maybe try a laptop cooler, there are many different kinds though so just look around.

Sounds like you should take it to the apple store and have someone look at it. :S Did you install the boot camp drivers?

Sounds weird... But hey, if you you are looking for a another windows you might as well try out the Windows 7 RC.
Anyways, I'm running vista in boot camp with no problems what so ever - sure you can hear the fans, but my mac doesn't crash =/

thats normal??? really?

The Nvidia 9600 graphics card makes the MacBook get hot as a dick, so the MacBook overcompensates by sending the fans into overdrive.
