  • Proper tube length is determined by tube ID and testing. Lots can be outside of the boat to get C of G correct. Either the tubes are outside or the boat is longer which adds more drag and weight. The steam has to cool and condense long before it reaches the end of the tube or the engine will not run or soon stop running. Reading about how a putt putt engine works will help you understand why. Thanks for watching and the comment. PP4V

  • Why is length of the tubes so long ? Especially outside the boat ! The tubes makes extra resistance and the steam is getting cooled off before it reach the end of the tubes.

  • "I am Doctor Evil and today i will show you my putt putt boats."

sorry couldnt help it, awesome boat!

  • @qwert0t No need to apologize Doctor and thanks for watching. Now send links to all your friends.

  • are you justin bieber's Dad ??

  • @TheCandyRebellion No. I'm his twin sister Justine.

  • where can i buy that engine?

  • @MegaHammer97 the first engine used btw

  • @MegaHammer97 I build them. Offer me enough money and I will build one for you.

  • BOOOOOOORIIIIIIIIINNNNNGGGG

  • @ne1ist After polling the 34,638 viewers of this video 34,636 said you should make and upload a video before even thinking about making critical comments. Then we will all judge your work.

  • @ne1ist - then don´t watch it... simple !

  • are string attached in front to give it circular motion

  • @samalert Yes. So it does not run into the side of the pool. Thanks for watching and commenting.

  • @PuttPutt4video i was really flabbergasted that a very intense research is done on putt putt boats and each crafted so well . I ADMIRE ur HOBBY and DEDICATION. nice watching your video :)

  • @samalert Thank you again.

  • @DEVIGO06 Hello from Canada. Yes it is and thanks for viewing and commenting.

  • nice....

  • @454charing Thanks for the kind comment and for respecting the oldies. That's nice.

  • ZZZZzzzz!

  • @FourDollaRacing man respect the oldies

  • @454charing I do! Just rufflin' the feathers a bit...

  • nice you need to make one huge but light boat and add as many tubes as you can it would be really cool and fast.Or why dont you try to make a boat out ofthese tubes????

  • @TheDownloadfreegames Interesting thoughts. Some technical difficulties arise. The curves, length, diameter and quantity of tubes affect performance. Too many tubes bent into a boat shape would not likely be a better or lighter boat.. Drag from irregular hull shape and weight of method used to keep the tubes joined and watertight likely more than as done now. Like your way of thinking though.

  • @PuttPutt4video yeah its difficult but it would be really cool and fast!

  • I like your narration

  • @Lipschitz666 Kind comments are always appreciated. Thanks.

  • @PuttPutt4video can you make a full size pop pop boat to carry people?

  • @nunvikingsofthesea I can't and the experts say it is not likeky anyone can.

  • I have a question how do you plot your Bodyplans?

  • @laranjo123 The design for building these boats out of one piece (mostly) of flat aluminum is basic. For a new boat it is only a matter of changing the measurements for LOA, beam and displacement etc. to get what I require for a new boat.

  • Excellent and informative! Thanks for posting!

  • @EngineeringFun Thanks for watching and the kind comment.

  • I know where to buy the heat source, or the steps to build.Thanks.

  • @Colodrilo wear

  • r u selling them,

  • @888000777666 Depends how much you offer.

  • @PuttPutt4video how much do u think

  • @888000777666 I really have not thought about it. In the end it is the buyer who sets the price. It would also depend on which boat. Which boat are you interested in?

  • @PuttPutt4video how about the first one shown

  • @888000777666 As I have no real interest in selling at this time and the boat you mention has considerable extra work on the hull shape perhaps $350.00

  • There are several kinds of steam driven boats. These have no moving parts and yes, this is how they work.

  • is this how steam boats worked?

  • The statesman and scientist Ben Franklin performed similar experiments to determine the best shape that would result in the greatest efficiency for canal boats. Penn State University runs a giant "water tunnel" that fill a building. It's fine to make hydrodynamic calculations, but they still test profiles in water for real-world results. Nice work.

  • Formidable !

  • @frayer52 Thanks frayer.

  • Nice

  • @pcblah Thanks.
