Vega = Balrog

Balrog = M. Bison

M. Bison = Vega

They changed Mike Bison to Balrog in the U.S.A. version in order to avoid a law suit and likeness of character because Mike Bison is too close to Mike Tyson. It's not because Americans didn't like the similar name, it was done in order to avoid legal troubles.

Vega is a proper name for him and same with Bison and Balrog for some reason Vega just fits this guy and M. Bison doesn't seem like a Vega so basically they changed one of the final bosses in street fighter 2 so they just switched the names around but it worked out for the better in all honesty.
