Georgia only used and lost Soviet vehicles, mostly. The U.S. has been fighting an urban guerilla war since 2003 in Iraq, and Saddamn Hussein's Gulf War forces dwarfed anything the Georgians or Chechens have ever fielded.
Russia isn't a superpower, Georgian technology (minus a few U.S. UAVs and nightvision goggles) is Soviet gear and the Chechens likewise. South Ossetia is only recognized as a country by Russia, Venezuela and maybe a few others, it is officially a part of Georgia and so is Abkazia.

@monkeyman1140, the U.S. originally backed a Georgian strong response to South Ossetian border attacks, but did not plan for a stronger Russian response in support of South Ossetia. Both Putin and Bush played their pawns there, but only Russia dared to send in the Red Army knights themselves. I was expecting Russia to fully occupy Georgia and annex it back into the new Russian Federation.

This will by no means be one sided but all of Europe, Russia, North America and the world for decades to come will witness something more horrific then any war of the past. No country not the U.S. or Russia will rise from the war instead we would be in ashes because of the cowardly weapons human kind has created but if that is where this fucked up world is leading us then God be with us all.

I mean do you really think its going to be rainbows and sunshine when we go to war with each other?? Expect blood and a lots of it, we can and will put the hurt on you in the beginning with are soldiers and weapons but sadly more civilians would be put in harms way then both are combined losses I have no clue how it would turn out nobody does but I can look at reality or a real picture of life in that bloody war not just one country's going to be a part of it like in recent wars.

They gained my heart and loyalty for lending troops to us in Iraq against are enemy's don't think for a second the U.S. wont return the favor Georgia is are ally and are country as a whole will not and can not stand by and see Georgia fall if that day does come the U.S. and Georgia military will get plenty of victory's on the battlefield before Russia could say run for your mainland. I am not sure that's exactly how it would go but fuck it, its war and its a very unpredictable sad ugly thing.

I give Georgia a lot of respect with the exchange between their forces I noticed some brave troops that stood behind to cover the civilians and soldiers way home those true brothers in arms stood their ground and with a fierce fight and their blood gained their country time to regroup where they can make a real stand at their country's capital imagine if the Georgian army decided to stay and fight that bitch of a reporter would have been singing a different song.

the US had its fucking hands here! they trained georgians us army style and made them fight russians to see if their tactis would work against russians but it backed fired. the russians ended up fucking up georgian army (note us army style of fighting)

Good against Taliban, or maybe Ossetian militias. And I don't know why RussiaToday still has this video up. 1,400 dead is a blatant, massive lie. That's more people this war and the last war combined on both sides.

You are right U.S especialist have made entire tesis about chechen wars but for one only reason US haves no idea of what is modern urban warfare they only attak shitty countryes.Some numbers-Georgia lost 3000 soldiers and a lot of gear including US armored vehicles and UAVs.Russia lost 75 soldiers including the peacekepers and 7 aircraft.Russian modern combat tactics are the only known right now no other superpower have fighted against enemies as tec advanced as georgian or chechen army.

Your numbers about that war are totally wrong. Georgia lost 160 soldiers killed, Russia had around 60 deaths. Less than a thousand died on all sides. Georgia only used and lost Soviet vehicles, mostly. The U.S. has been fighting an urban guerilla war since 2003 in Iraq, and Saddamn Hussein's Gulf War forces dwarfed anything the Georgians or Chechens have ever fielded.

Russia isn't a superpower, Georgian technology (minus a few U.S. UAVs and nightvision goggles) is Soviet gear and the Chechens likewise. The Chechens had nothing the Russians didn't and in fact had a lot less. They just fought like mad men on home ground. Not to refute almost every claim in your post or anything.
