Yea, that is true. But the Jr. Balrog uses swipes and fireballs etc, which are magic attacks, and Dark Sight only protects against physical attacks.

well it's because they have a higher defense than normal monsters your level. If you manage to hit a lvl 8x monster at 6x, your damage will be a lot lower than if you were just attacking something your level.
