  • at the begining of the song, um.., maybe myung still sleepy, forgot to drink a coffe or redbull...x_x

  • james labrie best voice in the world!

  • esse pra mim sem dulvida foi o melhor album do dream theater

    otimo!!!!

  • por isso que considero DREAM THEATER a melhor banda que ja vii

eles eram pivetes, e ja faziam musicas assim. hj então.... nem se fale

  • 3:20 BEST DREAM THEATER PART

  • Great Solo :)

  • where's the killing hand? other than that, thanks for the upload!

  • John Myung, got wrong at minute 0:51

  • HOLY SHIIIIT JAMES LABRIE ES LO MEJOR EN LO QUE A VOZ RESPECTA QUE LE PUDO HABER PASADO A DREAM THEATER

  • this must be the first dream theater live

  • @lsmartin96 lolwut?

  • @ddensu what are you saying ?

  • 3:18 i'm trying to play that part on drums

  • Wow, you all have your panties in a wad! Thank you for proving why DT fans for the most part suck (I happen to be one). James voice has been out for years now and stopped fitting the music a long time ago. His stuff with Trent Gardner is great; he should stick with the softer stuff. Oh, who is a good vocalist you ask? Ummm, Russell Allen dumb asses!

  • LaBrie is just awful!

  • @sixgunsymphony I disagree, some people say he is awful singing songs becuase they loved Charlie's voice, though is a great singer but as mentioned in the wrong band, I think James did great vocals on Images And Words: Live In Tokyo and Live At The Marquee but I have to say this live version is the heaviest I've heard, I don't like this because of the vocals, I like it for the heavy sounds John has, I think his technician did a great job for his guitars

  • Dont u guys have anything better to do then p!ss out nastyness about this aging hero Labrie? Show us u can do better or get a life, asswipes

  • DT without James would have much more rock classics, even without media, some great songs would sound greater,a voice can ruin a song more than a shitty drummer or guitar player

2.30 of this song, another chapter in the huge collection "wors labrie´s moments ever",well, other parts as the end too, range can be more beautiful and technical, geoff tate, russel allen, michael kiske, etc

  • @GabrielDhalaman fuck yourself

  • Charlie is so much better James. simple as that

  • @MrCorbyTender you're wrong, dude. You should hear this same song from "live in Tokyo" when he had not yet suffered a rupture of his vocal cords. Charlie is not a bad singer but he doesnt fit with DT's music.

  • labrie sing like cedric from at the drive in... anoying

  • Dream Theater won't be Dream Theater without Labrie.

  • Lol @ the subtitles. I love LaBrie to death, but he has serious pronounciation issues.

  • @resurgam44 his canadian accent kicks in

  • check my dream theater videos

  • @hoshdt1 I love your ones! great job mate! been watching them probably since the first day you joined Youtube! and I am a subscriber to your channel. Keep it up please! :)

  • that solo freakin dominates!!!

  • DT's music is just fascinating - surprizing- just perfect and Petrucci is the fasstest guitarist I have ever seen live (june 09) that was so great and I have been standing in the second range- eye to eye with him- this evening I will never forget!

  • Charlie Dominici, please come this save performance. Your voice is perfect for this song!

  • I'm asleep in some musicial coma

  • they play this at the same tempo as the original.

  • Where can i find whole when dream and day reunite video (dvd)?

  • LaBrie Sucks

  • i really like james in this Gig i love how he sings these songs

  • Labrie sounds horrible in this recording.

  • do you remember when labrie in his early days...he's the best!!!!his voice can shatter any walls before him!!! labrie is one talented singers in all time...this song on live in tokyo was awesome..the way james screams..his range are endless!!

  • dominci didnt give all he had on the album and i think that shows especially with LaBrie belting it out here and how much better it sounds with a powerful strong voice

  • Dominici sucked, Labrie Beasts.

    Moore was good, Rudess beasts.

  • Comment removed

  • @beastlyninja1 wait WHAT!!! Dominici sucks...guess you need to understand diffrent vocals styles...

  • @fredvain hey man, take it easy. And I didnt mean it like he just sucks, i worded that wrong. As a singer for dream theater he sucked, but he is actually a good singer.

  • what you guys say is an organ mistake to me sounds pretty damn good....that heavy section needs more emphisis me thinks

  • nearly as great as in 1993;

powerful in sound, good by LaBrie, but he was a beast in old times. I think nowadays he could sing it even better.

But this song also fits perfect to Dominici

  • buena perfomance de labrie

  • all perfect all wonderful 'till james la brie......;)

  • I have the dvd and I'm wondering how to get the subs showing? Does not seem to have any.

  • more snare!!!

  • Jordan missed his cue on the middle instrumental section and they had to play a full four bars before he entered in with the organ...it sounded very out of place...a rare mistake on Jordan's part.

  • Really? I had in mind that his organ part really starts as late as it does here...

  • @andrewman12 :

No he did not. That middle part has always been 20++ secs long on the album and this time they actually also did it live. The way it's supposed to be.

I think it adds much more to the mood and feeling actually playing it this long.

  • 0.51 myung mistake....

  • este muchacho no puede cantar mas.. ha deformado el tema

  • i love this song this is quintessential dream theater before it got too heavy way progressive and crazy solos.

  • me gusta mas con el otro cantante

  • The lyrics on BC+SL were pretty poor. LaBrie was back to his best though.

  • canta como la callampa este comchatumadre

  • Great song!

  • my god james sounds whiny here

  • James has a fucking good memory!

I think he knows about 300 lyrics...

  • @dudetr00 : dunno why you think thats so impressive, the instrument guys in the band know waaay beyond 300 riffs...

  • @rasmus91: Songs* ;)

  • @dudetr00 That kinda epicsauce ^^

  • @dudetr00 u sure? sometimes its so incoherant when he sings live i think he's just saying a syllable with a pitch and not worrying about pronounciation

  • @soocool78 i'm sure, sometimes you forget some parts, but he has a very good memory! Just remember: Dream Theater, Ayreon, Leonardo, Winter Rose, His solo albuns, the covers....

  • @dudetr00 well... I dont really think he has any better memory than any other human. It is a basic thing in any instrument that anyone can play, Guitarists have to remember all the notes that they must play in the song, any drum player must remember all the beats the play in each part of the song... the singer must remember all the words he must sing in the song. It really does not differ much from playing some other instrument and you really dont need a special memory to remember all that :P

  • @GibsonRocker1958 ok, but you understood me! I just said that he knows many lyrics! but that's his job! He has to do it!

    XCD

  • @dudetr00 thats his job maybe?

  • @Mohamed636 Yes!

  • @dudetr00 Yes,i think everybody there has a HUGE memory for all those little parts and notes...

LaBrie could change that memory for a good voice, because he is awful, fuck the range, geoff tate techaed the world high notes can be beautiful

2.30 of the song = Oooone more chapter from the huge collection "worst labrie´s moments ever"

  • @GabrielDhalaman ok man, go back to your pokeball and think about the shits you are saying...

  • @GabrielDhalaman labrie suffered a massive chord rupture a while back. he's busting his ass for the little bitches like you so the least you can do is respect that he gets up there every night. i can't imagine dream theater with anyone else to be frank with you. btw. not little parts at all... make a video of you singing an F#5, or you turning into a great success. until then, please don't even bother to crowd my inbox with all your mindless hate.

  • @passion4drums i completely agree

  • @GabrielDhalaman who would you consider a good vocalist then?

  • Wow, since 4:01 to the end, Portnoy is awesome, he is the best since 1986 until 2050 no one can beat him.

I like how sounds with James, sounds... cool, it seems more like Dream Theater.

  • God damn. James is singing these songs dozen times better than that dominici-guy...

  • If you like this, check the live at the marquee version James is in peak condition!

  • Actually, I have the Dream Theater book that came out a couple years ago. I hate to break this to you, but they admitted that they re-recorded James' vocals on the Marquee album. I was disappointed to read that.

  • Either way, he still sang better then in studio than he does now in studio. And better live then than live now.

It's just the sound I prefer. There is another bootleg called "killing hand live 92" on youtube that comes from the home sweet home bootleg and it isn't edited and sounds awesome, with some voice cracking tho...

  • Wow, I just watched that, and you're totally right! He smoked that performance! Nowadays his tone has changed, and he is quite often pitchy when he sings live. Still love him though.

  • Indeed. There's no better version then that one!

  • I feel bad for James he had to memorize all the lyrics he didnt even write lol

  • Why would that be a problem?

Don't you think a musician memorizes more stuff than only the stuff HE writes?

Besides... James does not write most of Dream Theater lyrics.

  • Well, in fact James wrote just a few songs, normaly Petrucci and Portnoy do that, but well he didn't sing it at the first time, but it aren't so hard to learn, the following Dream Theater songs are a little harder, than these in that album.

  • Well, he's only actually written lyrics to two of Dream Theater's songs (give or take). He doesn't write 90% of the lyrics anyway, so he has to deal with that all the time!

  • He has written lyrics to one song (or part of a song) for each DT album except WDADU, I&W, and BC&SL

  • He wrote a verse on take the time :)

  • Would've been awesome if Dominici did the vocals in this one :(

  • when was this show recorded ?

  • From Wikipedia:

"[When dream and day unite] was performed in its entirety on the exact day of the 15th anniversary of its release on March 6th, 2004 (15 years). It was released through Mike Portnoy's "Official Bootleg" record label Ytse Jam Records and is titled When Dream and Day Reunite."

  • Excellent song from an excellent show. Thanks for uploading!
