@PyroblastXXSoulFire The Allison transmission has a "learn capability" which helps with shifts. So when the truck is tuned, or in tow mode it will raise the pressure to help smooth out the shifts. Well, when you detune the truck the trans will not have time to relearn the sifts with the amount of time I had and it would shift hard. So I put it tow mode to help out bc tow mode raises shift point and pressure.
@EJ1owner23 I'd been towing some hay all day when I made this video! I have EFI live now... sooo much better! if you find a performance shop they can tune it up with "EFI live" for ya and get a DSP5 switch so you can tune it on the fly! the switch is just a nob with 5 tunes from stock to... with a stock transmission... you can go to about 100hp over stock hp! but towing you can turn it down to a lower tune to save your trans without having to turn the truck off ! AND its a dream to drive! :)
@jmk0309 yes! its fun easy to use and saves gas! we estimated saving 4500$ in gas over the past three years! i drive a lot! and I dogged my transmission and it lasted 110000 miles bf needed to be rebuilt so my super chip bought my trans:)

@PatchFSTDU Crap? there is no need for higher RPM it reaches its max torque/HP at that RPM. Lower RPM = longer life! this truck should last a good 250000 miles! My truck weighs 7200lbs or 3265.8kg it get 20 mpg doing 80 has 500+hp, and will do a 1/4 mile in 12s. After I make a run down the strip I can go tow a 10000 (4535.9kg) pound trailer and not even know its back their. this video is old...
@PatchFSTDU when your audi can tow 22,500 pounds with ease up a 20% Grade and the stop with ease down at the bottom of the grade let us know, until then the Diesels built by america are the only things doing it in a personal vehicle.

@theroncon the stock internal parts on a duramax can handle about 600 hp or so, the transmission can handle about four hundred hp. anything more and you need to upgrade. i have almost 100K miles with this programmer in it and no problems so far!

You do realize that Duramax is built by Isuzu, right? Just look around in your engine compartment for the sticker. Not much thats american about your truck. Usually the first things to go are either your headgasket, or you'll blow the turbo. And they are NOT under warranty. Used to work for GM. You'd be surprised with what auto-maker's share. The Pontiac Vibe for example, is the Toyota Matrix. I need not say anymore.
@cb7pwn yes!! its not the hottest tune, but i have put 90000 miles with this programmer on performance (120hp) with no problems! i get 20 mpg on the interstate and 16mpg around town and i have a lead foot! it is just as quick as a g35 when it is spooled up and all i ever hear from people that ride in it is "dang this truck is quick!", and girls scream:) so for a mild tune its great!! the only bad thing is after about a few months you will want more power! check out my new video of it!:)

@richardcoiner head gaskets? turbo? no no no, this is not a 6.0 powerstroke. i've heard of people running 40-50 psi on stock head bolts and head gaskets on a duramax. and i'm not saying you're wrong but those won't go first with a mild tune like the superchip. duramax is designed by isuzu not built by them, built in moraine, OH at DMAX
@psykho15 yeah its on! i just didnt do a boosted launch, which spools the turbo up to get a faster time, doing so though is very hard on a stock trans.
Turn your towing off and it will be faster. Because for this engine, if you hammered on pedal, the engine rev high and will shift the gear really early to bring the engine down really quick make this truck goes fly! With towning keep the engine revs higher makes little slow, bring more torq for trailer. Diesel doesn't revs up quick as gas.

its dangerous put the superchip on performance mode? i was reading about the superchips ,,and it has 3 modes , tow , performance , extreme
u puted it on performance or extreme?
cause extreme or stage 3 brings you 120 hp..

yeah i leave it on stage 3!! i have driven about 38000 miles with it on that level with no problems! and im not a slow driver! haha though i dont think my trans will last that many miles again... :/
