I had kinda forgotten that Gravel caused this wreck (yeah I said it, he did cause it). I like David but I hope he's learned a valuable lesson here.  Get well Travis.

It was so great to see Travis at the Gold Cup Race in Edmonton this week... It was the first time he has been to a track since the crash..God bless you Travis,,, You will be our champ foever.. From the fans at Castrol raceway..

I have raced and known Trav for a long time. Trav is a hell of a driver. Im sure the kid who stopped is a pretty good driver too but the fact he didnt pull off or at least get to the bottom of the track is absolutely ridiculous...visibility wasnt great either that amount of dust + smoke = garbage...as a driver you know when yur motor pulls down you know when something is wrong common sense you arent gonna win losing power...Trav is in our prayers still as always. I know hindsight is 20/20, but come on. David Gravel should have parked that thing in the infied one lap earlier. I originally heard visibility was poor, but that appears not to be the case. Smack dab in the middle of the front stretch is a hell of a place to park a blowed up car. This sucks. Get well soon Travis.

me and my dad stayd at randy hannagans that weekend and travis rutz went to randys after eldora and so did we and we were all laughing and doin funny stuff and we went to eat saturdaay the night it rainned out then we went sunday and i hate 2 c that happen to him he is a good kid and really funny. i hope he gets well really soon. 8R

Here is my thoughts on the video. It took place in a public event. IT does not show much of anything after the accident. It shows what was happening leading up to the accident. Racers get hurt in racing, that is a fact. That is the fact that up and coming racers have to look at.

The only way I think the video should be removed is if it showed graphic video or of Rutz himself being removed, it does not.

Has anyone ever thought that a LOT could be learned from this video? Like Gravel maybe could have pulled off before seizure? Like maybe the flag-man could have thrown the yellow when Gravel was in turn 4? Rutz had absolutely NO time to react and a lot could be learned from this incident.

im a old school sprint car fan, that happens to know travis, i dont like seeing wrecks at all. but i wanted to know what happened. travis is clinging to life and others r seriously hurt and you guys want to act likelitttle kids and argue on the computer. grow up both of you. theres other things going on here more important than your feelings about a video. my condolences to travis and his family. we will see you at skagit soon!!!!

And yet there has been several postings of the group photo of the wing sideboard signing and H2H has still yet to airbrush out the offensive novelty colored scrotums hanging on the wall just off to the upper left above the folks heads.

I find that offensive, low brow and very low class to have those items in plain view of what should be a photo of suport.

All that needs is airbrushing to fix, but yet you let that slide?

Tragic!! It should serve as a reminder of the responsibility one has for their fellow racer.

As much as it would serve the friends and family of Travis Rutz , if the video were removed. What is the overall benefit?

gosh give the kid that posted it a break, its not like he posted it for amusement. yes it is bad, and probably should be removed, but some people on here make it sound like he did it for amusement. and as a fellow race car driver it is scary to watch and my thoughts and prayers go out to the drivers and familes who were involved in this wreck

So i guess you guys look for every video on youtube where someone gets hurt and ask for it to be taken down to ?

I am a HUGE sprintcar fan and i check for updates on Travis daily. but this is not the only motor sport video where a driver has been hurt that is on this site.

give the kid a break, and if you hate it so much, why not just flag it.

the driver isnt in a coma. i know him. hes a 17 yr old and has 4 bad vertebrates and needs to wear a brace for a while

I did not hear him cheering. If you listen you will hear him say why did he stop there. Oh my god, I didn't hear a freaking person cheering. You people need to turn your volume up. To the kid that posted it, it has answered a lot of quesitons about what really happened.
