I think that not knowing if he really killed anyone was what made the first movie so great. And I hated the 2nd one so much because it comes out n says he was murdering people.

@flubble123 after all it's all fiction, but according to the franchise, yes he really does kill people. he does also have hallucinations, but all the gore is "real" :)

The Book's writer (Bret Easton Ellis) has said the story is Irrelevant if no one got murdered, implying that he may have killed some of them if not all. I'm think some of it happened, like Paul Allen (Paul Owen in the Book)
