agreed, she's super amazing, but there's something super creepy about the whole thing. Give her lessons, but don't throw her out into the public until she's at least in her teens. belly dancing is supposed to be extremely sensual, this is like early sexualization of a child, in my opinion.

@corrosivision sensual just means 'having to do with the senses or appealing to the senses' belly dance is not sexual at all. Hollywood just made it sexual. In fact, before Hollywood got ahold of it, belly dance was something only performed for women (not sexual) and even before that, it was a celebratory dance performed in the streets by men, women, and children alike (again, not sexual).

Really a prodige..but in my opinion kids so young(she must be not over than 10 y old)shouldn't take part in competition like these for I think they're too unripe for the movements of Bellydance..I'd rather make'em dance some more simple styles like Saidi or Fellahi..

Actually as I said MONTHS ago I'd had an airhead moment. I was multi-tasking at the time, it happens, that does not, however, equate to me being stupid. You, on the other hand, clearly are as evidenced by the fact that you don't know how to spell "don't", "you're" and "because" correctly. It's outrageous how people instruct children like nice monkeys. No different from the beauty contests for children. Unicef and other organizations should be informed. I am a bellydancer myself and I feel there's a lot of difference between imitating the moves of an adult woman and making some natural movements following the music.

I disagree. She really feels the music. You can tell by watching her. Her costume is way less revealing then the other girls, and she is very good. Her movement don't look robatic to me. My daughter belly dances right along with me, and I can tell you they learn really quick. I don't feel this little girl is imitating a grown woman and I feel you can see her own character in this video.

Bellydance is an unique expression of a feminine soul, an ADULT one, not to mention its meanings like fertility, sacred etc. I am a mother myself and a teacher of about 700 students; I know children and they don't move "naturally" that way, they always learn from an adult a specific move. If they're free to feel the music, their movements won't be the same of an adult woman: behind a movement there's always an awareness connected to the age of the dancer. That's why I know the girl is imitating.

Well it's fairly obvious she's been practicing, but I don't see the harm in what she's doing. Belly dance is not for Adults only. Women and children all over the Middle East have used belly dance in their homes, and to worship the goddess. They learn by watching. There isn't a reason why a child can't or shouldn't belly dance.

This is a wonderful dancer - Such clean and precise moves.

I began dancing at 4, when I was 10 or so I chose my own music, made my own choreography and danced my own dances - no adults needed by then. (I won in my category in a similar competition called the Bellydance Olympics). I always did it for the joy of the dance; for the art. I still dance for the same reasons, decades later. To be deprived of this joy would be a sin.
