you can't say that this singer sucks, imho his vocals are a lot better than Gilmour's. but it is a fact that we grew up listening to this song with Gilmour's voice, and hardly anyone will sing it so that you would say its better than original. Its like michael stipe from REM, his vocals arent great but his unique style got into our ears and nothing is better to REM songs than his vocals. deal with it lol

I don't quite understand why LaBrie is so criticized. He's a decent singer, and I don't hear anything wrong with his voice. If there's anything to criticize about him, it's that he's a horrible front man. He needs to put on more of a show during concerts.

Awesome cover the band did an excellent job except that I felt it way to techinical , though the singer doesn't sing it with the same intensity the opening verse : TICKING AWAY THE MOMENTS THAT MAKE UP A DULL DAY , is supposed to get you on the edge of your seat and make you jump , after about a minute and a half of clockworks , I felt nothing when LaBrie sang the opening verse , still a decent cover

Yes there are songs where just David or just Roger sang, but what I consider the "voice of Pink Floyd" is a mixture of all of their voices. LaBrie's voice is not suited to singing much other than LaBrie. Just like Yngwie playing anything but Yngwie is total garbage. It's not because LaBrie's a bad singer, it's because he has a very definitive and distinct style from every other singer out there.

Waters and Gilmour sounded very baked and soft, very distant and mellow, and LaBrie has always had an intensity to his voice. He can't pull off the subtle breathy vibe that those two did.

Anyone notice that motive established in Breathe comes up in all of the first side of DSOTM? Except for On the Run anyway.. It's in The end of time, and it repeats on the pianos all through Great Gig. It's amazing how Pink Floyd put this amazing piece of beauty together, and if you look closely, it's put together like a classical symphony, it's two Symphonies. side 1 and 2, and each has 4 parts (if you count brain damage and eclipse as 1). A guitar sound is easy to change. Just by taking another amp or dialing a tone that's best for the style you're playing, but a voice. A voice is a voice you can't change it. I say James did a great job singing but his voice isn't fit for a song like this. DT would't be DT without James though
