As I said, if you can watch 1:38 to 1:48 in this video and say this is some kind of music theory genius and NOT random, then you are a non-player that is impressed by crap. Not a single note was played during that laughing stock of a performance. That's just one example of the crap that is displayed in this video. Not impressive using the guitar as a percussive instrument. I learned how to do that my first week of playing when I was 8. To the 2 previous posts before mine, you'll see one day.

Okay, I'm getting ready to drop a bomb here that's gonna cause an explosion of insults and anger, but here's my opinion. I know Wooten is this Jazz great, funk great, master bassist and I guess his brother is supposed to be good. But this is exactly what I hate about this Jazz improv junk. It sounds like a cacophony of noise with some rhythmical slaps and pops (which is easy to do) and random notes and people think it's genius. Maybe to non players it is. I prefer to hear music. Not this crap.

You are right. There are a lot of shredders out there that bore me to tears. Then again, I've heard shredders that tear it up but in a musical sense. Just as I've heard a lot of jazz stuff (Bella Fleck and the Flecktones, Stanley Jordan) that is incredible. I even love a lot of Vitor Wootens stuff, just not this. I appreciate your comment, but at an old age of 43, I have many different styles I draw from. Everything from old school to new school, from rock, metal, funk, jazz and chicken picken. I was simply stating that this does not impress me as far as the technique they use here. One of my favorite guitarists is Nuno Bettencourt. He mixes funk rhythms with metal. He calls his music "funky metal" and it's friggin awesome. Look at my previous post and you'll see I'm plenty openminded musically.
