  • Bad Religion, The Offspring and Green Day, three of my favourite 10 bands. Is that a problem?

  • I like Green Day, Offspring, and Bad Religion. Aren't I special...

  • I love Bad Religion, but I would never have heard of it if it wasn't for green day...

  • The older albums from Green Day and Offspring are better than the newest albums of them. Green Day is a band who get more a pop music band, also Green Day. It's very pitty.

  • Bad Religion are Gods! .... Green Day was pretty solid.... but lost it ....i think with Offspring, it was more of a case of their worst songs receiving too much radio play and recognition.... Makes you forget about their good material

  • @adamJOHNNYUTAH That's true, plus Offspring still play old shit live and tried not to touch with their original fan base the same way bands like green day or blink 182 did

  • I did buy those records.. don't judge me.

  • funny thing I saw bad religion with greenday back in 93 I guess they didn't mind touring with them back then.

  • I don't get it why "punks" hate so much bands like Green Day or The Offspring. I mean, I know they're what most people would call "real punk", but c'mon! Even Johnny Rotten himself is a fuckin' money lover nowadays. Does that would make you hate Sex Pistols? I don't think so...

  • @briands1993 Yes. most real punks hate Sex Pistols cuz they're fucking sell outs. That being said, I love all these bands. Pistols, Bad Religion, Green Day, Offspring, whatever. Pretty Fly sucks cock, new Green Day sucks cock, but whatever. Its punk, if anyone tells you that you arent real cuz you enjoy it tell them to fuck off then piss in their drink. ¯\(°_o)/¯

  • @SHAPmovies Yeah, I've always loved the Pistols, even if their style was managed and shit like that

They were still them, their personalities were real.

And sure Rotten does butter adverts now but who gives a fuck? Atleast he's still him haha, everyone needs to make a bit of money now and then, why not use what he has to make it? :L

    He doesn't give a fuck

  • Too bad, you didn't post the rest of the audio record and the live version of "Spirit Shine" Greg announced...

  • funny how when punk hit the mainstream, all the punks started shouting "SELLOUT" and yet they wanted money. i may not be a huge fan of commercial punk bands (might even be a little insulted on how mass manufactured punk is now) but no one should give a shit on their popularity. thank that god thing for green day, now it's easy to get black flag and NOT be worried that if mom finds any of my 7 seconds albums, she'll throw it out.

  • @horrificpunkfreak I don't think so

  • @horrificpunkfreak Spanish mix with portugues;.

  • @horrificpunkfreak obviously u dont kno italian

  • I love the Offspring and Bad Religion but I don´t like the new Green Day Songs

  • Green Day did ruin punk for me too. When I first heard the Dookie Album, it opened up to me great classic punk bands like the Ramones and the Clash. However, American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown opened up to me the value of great exceptional production, great melody and profound lyrics. Now classic punk is not my staple, its a snack. bands like the Beatles and the Eagles have become the meat. I guess I grew up with Green Day.

  • @PancakeRaab those are actually pretty good songs for there newer stuff I didn't like spirit shine though but I love alot of there stuff but I didn't care much for the grey race but it has a couple good songs from it I just think that they were and still are the best

Damn I read over this and I must like to over explain stuff

  • I'm confused as to whether Bad Religion themselves completely hates Green Day and/or The Offspring or if they're just casually commenting on those bands' loss of their true-punk style in a sort-of-teasing-sort-of-joking-but-also-sort-of-serious kind of way.

  • @RianAlive loving the use of your hyphens hahaha

  • Green Day USED to rock.. I dislike them now.

  • these are all my favourite bands!!

  • Comment removed

  • that crowd is a bunch of pricks

  • I still really like the Offspring, Green Day, and Bad Religion...

  • Green Day was way better circa Dookie and Kerplunk. I don't hate the new stuff, it just isn't all that great.

  • And remember, Dexter only has a masters while Greg has a PHD!

  • @gUITaRzERo36 If they bash them, they probably don't think they are good and don't want to call it that lol.

Old offspring/green day were all right, I don't much care for their newer stuff.

  • man, it's probably a joke. those guys are always mockin on each other. didn't you guys saw that video where everybody talks shit abuot NOFX? and that includes greg AND dxeter. imo it's pretty much the same.

  • The Offspring is my all-time favourite band.

I consider Bad Religion the most intelligent band in the world, Greg Graffin is one of my biggest ideals.

I think Green Day WAS a pretty good band, but their new songs make me puke.

Pretty Fly is a joke, it is obvious that this song was made for house-parties and NOT to change the world.

    That's all.

  • @GabrielVeritas Couldn't agree with you more, BR and offspring are 1st almost tied for me. BR slightly ahead

  • @GabrielVeritas Who cares about changing the world?! I like punk because of the energy & I can relate to most of the songs people put out. I do believe that there are too many out there playing anarchy & preaching things they don't even believe. I'd rather listen to songs that make you reminisce & maybe make you think a little more than songs that preach to you & tell you that you have to live a certain way. I liked early Green Day because they had some good tunes that I could relate to.

  • @GabrielVeritas I agree exactly in EVERYTHING you said, dude! :)

  • @GabrielVeritas I agree with everything u said, green day USED to be class, but not now. Offspring rule!

  • I love bad religion, but greg is SUCH a condescending asshole.

  • see bands can be assholes when they reach success.

Green Day are untouchable, and when you get so much success there's always people that try to bring you back down.

I am not the familiar with Bad Religion, i don't know if this guy is an asshole or not...but i do know these bands all toured together at one point. All 3 are equally good bands, and are successful.

I'll just leave it at that.

  • I can't tell if he's being serious or not, but I hope he has nothing against the offspring, because dexter and noodles love bad religion, Dex even wrote a song for them (bad religion didn't use it and it became "All I Want" but it's the thought that counts)

  • @gUITaRzERo36

Ha, sure. Like I said I dont really mind them. Their early stuff was pretty good and I have heard some things in recent years that sounded pretty good. I do think the fly 4 a white guy song was horrid, but hey everyone fucks up sometimes. Yeah, its funny how judgmental people who listen to punk can be, especially considering that many of them were outcasts and judged when they were younger. Cheers

  • @gUITaRzERo36

Part 3. Lyrically and musically. Graffin surely has a better voice and can sing complex harmony while Dexter just kinda squeals, although its kinda cool. I think the rest of the bad are at least as good musically, and Graffin's intelligence leads to thought provoking and pretty original lyrics and themes. So, they may have never had a huge hit, but i think most criticswould rate them above off spring. You saying that BR "arent" as good is simply an emotional argument.

  • @gUITaRzERo36

Part 2. However, do really judge how good something is simply by the number of people who like it or bought it. According to this logic you must love brittany Spears or anything that sells a lot. I'm sure you dont really think that? I agree that it was uncalled for to make fun of them, especially since Graffin is a smart dude and he's kinda playing the juvenile "not punk enough" card. I think a case could be made that BR is a more talented band musically, both lyrically and

  • @gUITaRzERo36

Well, let me say 1st that i dont mind the offspring, and actually had their 1st couple of albums back in the early 90s, i am that old. I will say that they did have a really bad period where they put out some really bad music, and fly 4 white guy was bad by many standards, and surely among most people who like punk and pop punk. Ultimately i dont really care if they sold out, i mean they made lots of money so good for them.

  • @gUITaRzERo36

Wow, 10x better? I'm pretty sure their first 2 to 4 albums were pretty good, but they put out some serious shit after that. And pretty fly for a white guy was a horrible song and they deserved to take some heat for it. They pretty much just ripped off their own song (keep em separated) to try and get another hit. Green day is fine i think. Ok, actually, I think BR is 20xbetter than off spring. Graffin is a better singer and he's way smarter, hence not writing a song like fly4 whit

  • Didn't Bad Religion tour with Green Day opening for them in '93? I mean a little hypocritical Greg... Still love ya :D

  • the offspring were on epitath records that`s weird

  • who freaking cares?

  • The Offspring are fucking GODS so fuck you bastards!

  • God, Greg sure can be a dick sometimes. I love all 3 of these bands, just because the offspring have elements of pop in some of their songs makes them bad? As if Bad Religion have never turned away from their original sound? Into the Unknown, into the new america. It's so hypocritical. But whatever.

  • No way to talk about a band that sold millions of albums for your record label Greg...

  • What show was this at? Sounded like the crowd didnt really respond to well to their antics about the offspring. Must be a festival show?

  • Bad Religion don't like Green Day? but they both toured together in 1993? :I

and Green Day does not suck. They are a great band.

    Dookie is one amazing album!

  • I know it's a pointless matter to say to people that offspring and green day are not sellouts but I can't stand when it is said. If they changed their genre, they would be sellouts but now they just made it a bit poppier so we must throw them into mud? sex pistols, ramones - yes, they're punk but now isn't 70s or 80s and that era is over! As for me, I don't like any of these bands as they sound not attractive to me.

  • "pretty fly for a white guy, here we go..."

    "buu aahhh noo"

    "alright we wont do it"

    "yeaaaaah wooo"

"told you they wouldnt like it"

  • fuck you, Bad Religion

    you worked with The Offspring

    you saw their earlier shit!

    Ignition! Smash!

    fuck you!

  • man, The ''Americana'' age sucked

the early The Offspring was awesome

    Green Day sucks

  • @danin900 if you say green day sucks, then you swear the offspring too.

  • @DdrenchedD no, Green Day sucks because their sound isn't good as The Offspring

  • @danin900 the offspring are for stupid white trash wife beaters. the offspring are pretty much corperate rock nowadays. for dumb jocks and 11 year old skater kids who are school yard bullies pretty much

  • @StevenAteYourDogs yeah, that's true

I never listen to their newer albums anymore

  • @StevenAteYourDogs explain yourself without using logical fallacies.

  • @PancakeRaab the green day fanbase are a lot better people than the offspring fanbase. school yard bullies and white trash people like offspring.

  • @StevenAteYourDogs How though? Enplain.

  • @StevenAteYourDogs explain.

  • @PancakeRaab okay i will say it in downsyndrom mode. Greenday fans> offspring fans. the offspring= douchebags. the offspring fans = douchebags. cuz bullies and white trash people like offspring. green day fans are normal people

  • @StevenAteYourDogs but you still have yet to explain. you said your theory, but you didn't explain. give me an example where offspring fans are proven to be whitetrash.

  • @StevenAteYourDogs You explained your theory, but you didn't provide examples. Provie examples and if they are true, I will take your word for them.

  • You win, I can't compete with your shear genius.

  • I like bad religion, but Greg Griffin is a asshole!

  • dude im sorry the offspring sucks i dont like greenday much anymore but at least they can write catchy songs. the offspring just sucks altogether listen to dexter try to sing, he just yells i cant listen to it. plus they became total mainstream bitches toward the end anyway. fuck em. check out "the kids arent alright" its a total ripoff of american jesus.

  • @12killians fuck off

go listen to ''Come Out and Play''

  • @12killians you can go fuck your self, youre a stupid piece of shit and you shouldnt deserve to live for saying such blasphemous words. Green Day better than The Offspring? OOKAAYY!!! Offspring are gods, Green Day sucks now.

  • @12killians Listen to "A Walk". Or how bout "Where The Fun Is". those are fucking terrible songs. How is The Kids Aren't Alright a total ripoff. If you know anything about music, you know that in a minor key, starting from "i, ii,III" and alternating between them is the most common shit ever. You could search all of music and say that everyone copied from one another. If i play a song that goes, I-IV-V and another band plays the same but with different lyrics doesn't make them copycats.

  • Offspring and Greenday suck my fucking balls.

  • @PigToker and you suck mine my friend. So now what ? :/

  • Without Green Day I wouldn't have known about a lot of good music. Minor threat, ramones, sex pistols, bad religion, crass, fuckin more and more

  • Yea, all the posers who still get high to terrible sounds in some underground dive. But real punk bands, like the Clash and the Ramones do concerts with Green Day. You can respond back if you want, but I'll be to busy in the real world to notice.

  • it's not selling out if you make money..it's selling out when you were in the underground scene and then start making radio friendly songs on every album

  • green day is king of punk!!

  • @prikitiewboy eeh, sarcasm?

  • @prikitiewboy ok whoa....haha. i wouldnt say that. i love green day...but bad religion kicks green day's ass.

  • @prikitiewboy Are you fucking joking?

  • They all rock.

I'll admit Pretty Fly was a pathetic sellout but Offspring has plenty of kickass songs. And early Green Day was da sh*t. I'm not into their latest stuff though.

  • This had to be around the time when No Substance was released. I'm sorry, but I don't think they had the right to bash on "Pretty Fly For a White Guy" when "Raise Your Voice" was equally as shitty.

  • @forrestgreen21 haha that's why they hate green day..

  • ya i kno i think its so stupid the way thay look at "selling out" as such a bad thing u kno idk thats how i look at it green day is a very talented band abd one of my fave and they introduced m to punk its great :)

  • all u ppl who think ur a sellout jus cuz u make money r all idiots being a punk is all about doing wat u want and if somebody doesn't like it u say screw u punk isnt about making money or not making money, or being a jerk and trashing crap all over the place its about the music as long sa they r doin wat they love and that wat green day did so they r true punk rockers and that is no opinion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • no hablo inglés, greg habla bien o mal de the offspring??

  • @pololo36

    Esta burlando de ellos.

  • @forrestgreen21 thats why green day blows

  • @forrestgreen21 thats why everyone who likes real punk hates green day

  • @forrestgreen21

I'm sorry, I'm confused. Are you the internet's worst troll or the world's biggest dumb ass? Because if you're a troll, shut the fuck up. You're not making anybody laughing. If you're a dumb ass, then that scares me because it shows how low our society has sank when we allow dumb asses to buy computers. But that's what the internet's for, for dumb fucks like you to say whatever you want. But it's ignorant fuckheads like you that are the reason why people believe punk rock is shit

  • well u have a serious lack of adjectives man n its sunk not sank smart one u would know that if u listened to real music n not no talent kids that scream in the underground who eventually grow up or they become unemployed losers who might as well be dead. do what u want man have fun going nowhere.

  • @forrestgreen21

Oh, I'm sorry. I guess I was wrong. You're not a troll, you're just a huge fucking hypocrite. Excuse me poor grammar, sir. I'm sorry that I fucking speak English. What bumfuck university did you learn to spell like that? And yes, I will do what I want. It's funny to say that. You tell me to do what I want, and then you tell me that I'm going nowhere. So thanks for the hypocritical comment, dude. I will have fun going nowhere since you know me so well.

  • ok dude i guess ur right i must be a hypocrite saying what i believe don what i want, o wait i thought thats called not being a sell out o ya thats what u r hahaha u think u have to go along with so called "rules" of punk rock but hey if it makes u happy go do what u want no skin off my back.

  • @forrestgreen21

Your grammar makes arguing over the internet that much dumber. So thanks for wasting my time, dumb ass.

  • @forrestgreen21

    that's why we despise them

  • @forrestgreen21 hahaha

  • @forrestgreen21 Fail..

  • @forrestgreen21 Green day fucking sucks.

  • @Serpo71 and you to

  • @forrestgreen21

    1. that was actually nirvana's doing

    2. this vs 21 guns

    this wins

  • @systemofachemicalnir nirvanas grunge. not punk.

  • @TheIsisore both can fall under the catagory alt. rock which was unwittingly brought to the mainstream by grunge. not to mention grunge was never a genre. more like an offshoot of hardcore

  • @systemofachemicalnir grunge is a genre. when you look up nirvana it falls under grunge. and besides the category of alt rock goes from indie to punk going threw emocore and adult alternative. its to broad of a category to say its been brought to the mainstrem

  • @TheIsisore so is metal

when i say brought to the mainstream i meant shown to the world

the bands that were considered grunge hated it like calling a native american an indian

  • @systemofachemicalnir well if you count metal as alternative then it was introduced to the mainstream way before nirvana. even still alternatives always been around and the mainstreams known about for a long time, but theyd rather listen to other stuff like all that crap you here on the hit radios (green day included) and thats totaly fine by me. oh and about the grunge thing, point taken.

  • @TheIsisore what i meant to say is metal like alternative is a broad category yet people say glam brought it to the mainstream and yeah alternative is and will always be around and i am proud of that

  • @systemofachemicalnir you know i think we just accomplished the hardest thing ever... to have a youtube conversation without like getting really angry and swearing at each other ^^

  • @TheIsisore youre right

thats awesome just shows smart people can have conversations over the internet

  • @forrestgreen21 Greenday ruined punk.

  • @forrestgreen21 wait what?

    sex pistols

    the clash

    the ramones

all got to the mainstream, before greenday

  • you know you bought those records...

  • C'mon don't boooooh when they talk about Green Day,

and The Offspring is pretty good too.

    But well..

I will probably not be able to convince a lot of people, haha.

  • i bought those records but i didn't buy no substance

  • green day was good from 1990-1997 nimrod had there last good songs in it such as i hate you take back and others i think the offspring was great from 1989-1998 and 2001-now. has been decent each album has maybe 2 or 3 good songs

  • Why are the suckers "Buuh-ing" when Green Day and Offspring is mentioned! Having problem with other bands joining the party, eh? Fuck you! Green Day is just as punk rock as everything else. Fast, blodrushing songs with 3 chords in it about how much George W. Bush sucks! - No, they're not hardcore, they're much more into melody and stuff, but their foundations are punk rock! So shut up!

  • @MrGibsonJunior yup thats about right

  • @MrGibsonJunior green day has not been good since the 90's there more alternative now

  • @markmaille

I think they are still good,

but a lot better back then.

  • @alanalovesmusic which one

  • @markmaille

    What, which one?

Green Day is my fave band....

and The Offspring is good too.

  • @MrGibsonJunior Well said that man!

  • Haha, Greg's pretty cool in this :)

  • Listen your punk if your doing something that people are gonna say ewww or wtf at, green day never sold out, they showed the diversity of their music. The new album has "shitty music" go listen to horseshoes and handgrenades and tell me thats shitty. or the social d cover they have on the bonus tracks. Offspring just got older and people mellow with age...unless your johnny rotten WHICH THEY CAN'T COMPARE TOO. And Blink are awesome too so stop bickering and arguing, its all good music

  • I don't really think its a matter of being "punk" or not. I just think that Green Day and Offspring are just plain better then Bad Religion. It's cut and dry, they're just better.

  • @RichieWilliams97 "I just think they're better" ... that's an opinion, not astatement (I hope)... also, define "better" XD

  • @Punkekito123 XD I guess it's an opinion. XD They've won a ton of shit. XD Even back in the Dookie years, which apparently was their only "punk" years according to the retards on youtube who think they're punk too(like you), they won a grammy XD.

  • @RichieWilliams97 Well when talking about music, wining stuff is a matter of popularity more than "betterness" so I would say Green Day or The Offspring are more popular than Bad Religion but that does not make them better... also the word "punk" is really controversial and I don't like using it XD

  • @Punkekito123 Well, I see what you're saying. But, a band usually gets popular because the songs are very good, which would make them, in general, a good band... So, if Green Day's very popular, wouldn't that make them "better" (in general, not an opinion) then most other bands?

  • @RichieWilliams97 That's so not true, there are bands that are way better than others, but due to circumstances of the market they don't become popular at all... if Green Day is very popular it only means that their record label does a good marketing job with them no more and no less...

  • @Punkekito123 Yeah, you've got a strong point. Nickelback sucks, but they're very popular...

  • i bought all of offsprings albums untill americana came out. i love offspring, but they just arent as good now

  • @jrack13 I agree. Their first three albums are fucking BRIlLLIANT and very punk. But after that they became average.

  • green day and the offspring are great bands. and it pisses me off when people dis them and say blink 182 is better. eewww. well guess what kids, bad religion inspired blink 182 , and green day and offspring opened the doors.

  • haushauhs "come on you know you bought the records"

    hilarious!

  • I don't get it, the same faggot kids werw saying the Offspring sold out when they brought "smash" out, now thats apparantly before they "sold out." People are fickle. especially arrogant faggot "punks." It was arrogant faggot "punks" who also said that the Clash sold out when they brougt London Calling out.

  • That guy ^ sounds like he has no dick.

  • he doesn't need a thesaurus, the dude's a college professor

  • @applesgomilesrock WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? Seriously? do you know anything about punk? i usually let alot of stuff go on youtube but this was so unbelievable i had to respond. Bad Religion is a huge punk band that defined 80s punk. offspring was good for a while but r so mainstream today. and Green day?! WHAT? better than bad religion? listen to i want to conquer the world by bad religion. then listen to 21 guns by green day. who is a better punk band?

  • dude you cant compare bad religion to green day's new stuff...its a whole different genre. Green Day switched over to a more alternative sound than what they used to be. so if you wanna talk about how punk green day is or isnt you cant forget about back in the 80s when they were first starting out

  • @naughtykoolaid55 yah u are right and i love their older stuff. its just the guy suggested that BR is less punk then BR. and thats pretty rediculous haha. u gotta admit. I did like Green day's older stuff tho. Im not against green day fans, just against the premise that GD knows more about punk rock then bad religion. especially at this date and time.

  • well, i should basically agree with what u said... even though green day is my definetly favorite band, I admit they shifted to a new (and for me incomprehensible) sound that's no more real punk rock... but... your comparison between BR I want to conquer the world and GD 21 guns just has a chronological nonsense... BR's song dates 1989, 21 guns dates 2009... let's go back to GD's '89 and see if they weren't punk enough....

  • @TheOffended i agree it is chronological nonsense haha. that was a bad way to go about my arguement. it was just such an unbelievable thing for someone to suggest that greenday and the offspring are punk while BR isnt haha.

  • green day is one of my personal favorite bands but offspring is a lot better

  • green day toda la vida ba a ser mi banda faborita pero offspring mi segunda banda faborita mi voto es por los dos

  • 2 BEST bands EVER

  • they sound really bitter too bad they had such a falling out because they are my two favorite bands

  • i like old green day

offsprings new stuff is kinda bleah

  • bad religion is awsome but fuck dude offspring kick ass dont like green day to much tough

  • I'm not a fan of the new offspring, I like the old offspring! L.A.P.D and Beheaded best songs ever!

  • The Offspring is the greatest

  • the threads called "dexter letters please"

  • I love graffins subtle way of talking shit about them

  • hes not trying to insult them is he im pretty sure the offspring were signed to his lable or something idk for sure tho w/e i really like bad religion (not as much as green day tho)

  • Why would you cut off the Spirit Shine performance?! Great song and I don't think I've ever heard it live! GAH!

  • I uploaded here on youtube the live version of sprit shine, search my channel

  • Yeah, I caught it on the side-bar after I finished this clip. Thanks very much, for these and all the rest of your uploads!

  • @TheSidewalkCipher Me neither....dammit lol

  • LOL "You know you bought those albums"... guilty as charged.... kinda.

  • its not true, green day did their promo tour for dookie together with bad religion!!!!

  • all those bands were related because their all in epitaph
