The 37th #1 song on Billboard's newly formed chart that is now the Adult Contemporary charts. This style of music would only make an impact on this chart, because while this was #1 on the AC chart, The Beatles were at #1 with I Want to Hold Your Hand on the Top 40 charts, which forever changed the direction of the music industry.
I discovered Ricky's music only yesterday, though some songs like Poor Little Fool, Hello Mary Lou and Garden Party sounded quite familiar so I must have heard them before. But so far, this one is my favorite, followed by She Belongs To Me. This man was more than just a teenage idol. And what an unlikely teenage idol! At seventeen he looked like a thirty-year-old with that stern face, business suit and chest hair. At the time of his death he looked not a day older than in the late 1950s.
Saw Ricky in concert August 1984. He gave a fabulous show and afterwards instead of
leaving the stage he stayed after the show and went to the foot of the stage and personally thanked his fans for caring enough to come and see him and he talked with them, gave autographs, shook hands, let them take pictures etc. He was very warm friendly and accessible to them. And yes I went to the stage and met him and
thanked him for coming and giving us a wonderful show and for all his wonderful music.

the guy could have shared pieces of his looks with 10000 other men and he still would have been the handsomest guy on the planet!
RIP rick
