  • getting this case it look awesome and is chip

  • Hey, loved your review! I just this case and a new rig with an ssd. None of my components have come in yet, but i was curious to whether or not i have to buy a converter so my ssd would fit in the HD drive bay. I purchased a OCZ 120gig Solid 3 ($130 after rebate) that is a 2.5in form factor. Does this case have the fittings to place it in the hd bay?

  • can i fit an antec khuler h2o 920 cpu cooler and put it on the back exhaust fan instead?

  • With those motherboard holes being set into the case like that, what is the likelihood of compatibility issues? Looking to get an x79 board and this case, but not if they won't line up

  • @Mistcane slim to no chance mate. all the mobos have atx layout so youll be fine

  • hey tom, ever thought of sticking a 360mm radiator in a shinobi? yeah i know it sounds mad but it seems like a perfect cheap modder friendly case compare to the cougar evolution case

  • @Mickkazzie dont think it will fit dude go look at my shinobi 6 hour mod challenge video

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms well thats sad, got a RX360 and a Bitspower res and pump so all i need is a shinobi to try it out. if i works or fails will post on youtube

  • AGREE WITH THE TOP TWO COMMENTS.

    ABOUT TIME TIM!

  • TTL designing a case?! now that wouldn't b cheap!

  • Cougars answer the the CM 690 II and Haf 932 :-)

  • TTL line of cases would be amazing!

  • Cougar *eats rare candy*...

    Cougar *evolves* into GILF.

  • those noctua fans are by far the ugliest fans on the market.

  • @jimmyakakev Yes, but they are some of the best.

  • The fan fittings on this case are abysmal

  • Cheap and nasty

  • Socket 2011 ZOMG can't wait!

  • PLEASE!!!! Do a review on the corsair 500R and watercooling. I have ideas but want to see a watercoolers view on some ideas i have!!!

  • This is really Cougar's first case, the other one was a rebranded super old design already being sold by their parent company (HEC/Compucase). Glad to see the Evolution passed TTL with flying colors, looking forward to more Cougar stuff.

  • Tom, are you going to be benchmarking the 2700K?

  • the couger psu is deffo testing SB-E :)

  • Bamboozling

  • @razargh however, if it's water, I don't think you can do better than a corsair for space and size for rads ect. :) hope that helped somewhat

  • @razargh if it's for air, you can't really go wrong with a coolermaster, however if it's water I

  • hey TTL and Youtubers, do you believe a 240mm radiator could be mounted in the optical bay? if it can with out a doubt i'll drop some cash on it for a spare PC.

  • @Mickkazzie You could dude but dont forget you still need a pump and a res in there too :/

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms lol........

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms Phoyba has pump and res that dont sit in the optics bay and so does XSPC. soo, my major issue living in the caribbean is i cant get my hands on a f**kin shinobi and cougar evo where as i can get water cooling gear. need a retailer in england that does world wide shipping.

  • I'm in need of a new case, i really have no idea what to go for, atm im looking at the NZXT Phantom, but don't know what to get? Anyone got any tips etc?

  • wink , wink , i got the wink... : P

  • messyest non modular psu: Corsair Tx series....

  • its not that window the same like the HAF-X?

  • I like how tom's head looks like it's floating in mid air. He's in disguise!

  • I think Tom should design his own case!! I would buy one.

  • Does it keep things cool? Are the stock fans loud?

  • Does indeed look like the CM 690 II... might have a think and see if i should change my new pc to this case... You think theres much chance of triggering the power button when using the fan controller (considering clumsy users) LOL

  • hi just thought i would ask timetolivecustoms when the fx series comparison with the phenom II vid will be up or on the website ?

  • The reason for the different stamps (or lack of) for the middle motherboard screws seems fairly obvious if you think about it Tom!

They could cause a short in a big motherboard.

  • lga 2011

  • All the way through I was taking little glances down to my 690-II and thinking "yup, looks familiar". Would be very interested in a white version.

  • hey tom when are u reviewing this nzxt cpu cooler that should be better than the noctua NH-D14?

  • FINALLY SOMEONE REVIEWS THIS CASE!!!

  • yeah actually might be the 2700k

  • You better be testing a 2700k! :D

  • A little tacky and too many 5.25" bays for me. Overall a nice case though

  • testing SB-E tom? :D

  • looks like a CM 690 II Advanced to me

  • Did you test the fan controller ? how many fans are they possible?

    thanks

  • reminds me a cheap haf x

  • too sad it has no water cooling :S

  • any idea when new noctua coolers are coming?

  • Looks like a Cooler Master 690 Pure

  • I think it deserved a Gold personally.

  • Been screaming lately? Your voice is all messed up :P

  • sweet, pac-man award

  • @nooblady2310 i think you just have to mod it yourself :)

  • love the eye wink!

  • 3960X@!

  • I think it's just me but this case angers / agitates me.

  • Tom, why hasn't a company approached you to make the perfect case? I mean really, you KNOW what a case should have, why not sit you down in their labs and make a case from your ideas and thoughts.

  • @Pakku1 - That's a good point. Tom could start his own brand of computer cases.

  • @Pakku1 Just had a brain wave! He could call his case the Tomahawk!

  • @Pakku1 there is NO perfect case, you can want many different thing from a case so every case have different pro and cons for everybody needs

  • @Nagby3

Fair enough. But how about a case that'd he'd use for many months down the road and wouldn't think twice to recommend when someone asks. I know the one he uses is amazing, but maybe start from there and see what comes out of it.

  • @Pakku1 well if you want i made myself some PC cases and other PC components on my channel 3DNag ^^

  • @Pakku1

    because his is orange :p

  • @Pakku1 Tom should go to the Corsair labs and make cases that don't feel like they were made by a 10 year old bending super thin plastic into a case.

  • @Pakku1 perfect idea, tom really knows cases and i have never seen anyone do as good case reviews as him. he really should make a perfect case in the budget, midrange and highend price classes.

  • @Pakku1 There's no perfect case.. thats why

  • @Pakku1 I think mainly because there is no perfect case, maybe for 1 person this case, while for another it's not. So different people like different cases. But if you mean perfect for him, then it's possible.

  • @Pakku1 If there was an objectively perfect idea for a case it would already exist, the problem is cases are subjective, some want windows, some want clean panels, some want fan slots, some want water cooling aspects (holes and room for rads), some want 4 5.25" slots, some use 0 5.25" slots, some want large cases, some small, some want very well cooled cases some want sleek/stylish/silent ones, some want hdd docks and fancontrollers, some don't want that, you can't make a perfect case.

  • Comment removed

  • @Pakku1 the cost.

  • @Pakku1 good point.

  • @Pakku1 case manufacturers do that , but reviewers have different opinions , his are not the best , theyrs are not the best , no best for everyone .

    sorry 4 the english

  • @Pakku1

    They already have!

CaseLabs' M8 and T10 series cases are pretty much the perfect enclosures.

  • @Pakku1 Because if they made the ultimate case, nobody would want to buy a new one after they owned it... = no money

  • It's a Antec/Coolermaster HAF X budget case. With the aggressive price point it's obvious they are trying to get their name out. Let's see how HEC COMPUCASE Enterprise handles their quality control down the road.

  • Wonder why they didn't stick to that corral snake colour scheme that they did with their psu's? I think that would look pretty bad ass on a case, instead of that blue on the side. Great review Tom.

  • this case looks really cheap =\

  • dose it not matter if you put cables behind the mobo? like could i run my 24 pin etc behind it without any problems?

  • @wiifan62 my case (NZXT M59) got under 1cm of space behind motherboard tray but i hidden my 24pin cable :p

  • oh ;D. that means ivy bridge right?

  • @tnartey it means sandy E ^^

  • @vite0151 oh yh that too means ;D. LOL

  • this case would look a lot better without the big blue "EVOLUTION" i think

  • @Nagby3 I agree, maybe it's an optional sticker or one you can peel off quite easy?

  • Sorry........first

  • @TheEuroGamerz End yourself.

  • @Langstonlol Deep deep down I know you don't mean that :D

  • @TheEuroGamerz I hate you.

  • @TheEuroGamerz KL :D. does youtube give you a cookie for that?

  • @tnartey I wished

  • @TheEuroGamerz then im slightly struggling to see why you said first. i thought it was a race for a prize or something?
