Well..The truth is, Vaseline does not clog a pore. Its substance is too large to penetrate into a pore. However, it can BLOCK a pore. When you block a pore too long, this can cause the oil to get backed up in the follicle causing the follicle to rupture thereby creating a pimple, so you don't necessarily want to leave Vaseline on the skin very a long period of time.

Vaseline cannot moisturize anything. Moisture means you are adding some form of water. Oils and vaseline only nourish.

Petroleum jelly is *not* a moisturizer. It's a *barrier*. It doesn't add moisture, it simply locks in what moisture is there. It is a *non-breathable* barrier. That means that your skin DOES NOT get the air that it needs. It's best use is for protection from the elements or when used to create a barrier between the skin and a wet diaper. There are moisturizers that are created specifically for the eyes because the skin over and around the eyes is thinner than on the rest of the face. Be careful!

@gLiTteRnspArx I acctually had big bags under my eyes before since i dont get that much sleep, but when i started using vaselines and stuff like that to get thicker and bigger lashes they became less seeable so you shouldnt believe anything they say, you should just try it yourself and see how your body reacts, and if you wont like it just dont do it anymore, thats what i do :))

This was definitely a great tutorial,and she was right to say that Vaseline is a great moisturizer. But I really believe that with all those good benefits she should have at least highlight the fact that it is-in no way what so ever- good for your hair and scalp-Yes on your head. Any form of moisturizer that contains PETROLEUM-if used on the scalp of the head will only clog up the pores, preventing good aeration of the pores and inevitably lead to lack of hair growth.

Vaseline works but... 1. it doesn't grow new lashes. it moisturize existing ones. 2. you should avoid contact with eyes 3. why would you use vaseline if there is FYSIKO eyelash serum that doubles your eyelashes. yes, full effect will take 16 weeks, but you can have long and thick eyelashes

People in my family have used petroleum jelly for skin care for over 70 years (my mother from her teen years and my grandmother from her teens) so yea.... it's fine. I already use it for eye makeup removal, and it helps reduce wrinkles but I warn people if you put it on soft skin areas that aren't made to be oily, your forehead... you can break out! So be careful.

@TheMikachoo101 I wouldnt recommend that, Vaseline is very greesy and might make your hair greesy even after washing it,It doesnt matter for your eyelashes because they are so little.. Id find a nice shampoo and conditioner, everyones hair is different but i use tresseme (sp) healthy volume...Shampoo (black bottle) Conditioner (white bottle) I love my hair, its nice and soft, its not flat, and my ends look nice! Hope this helped! $6 at SAMS i believe!
