  • I live in S. Florida and I have the most beautiful mushrooms in my garden. They are shaped like beautiful flower blossoms and they glow. When I capture a picture of them you can see the light around them. Amazing what could they be and why are they here.

I'm trying your Tip. But, am looking for all the info I can Gather.

    Many Thanks for the Posting.

    Peace ~ Angel Eyes

  • @nickod777 Definately not.

  • Not sure if you're talking about the condition of the mushrooms or the species. If you're referring to the species and whether or not it is poisonous, then respectfully this technique has more to do with folklore than fact and can easily result in severe illness or death. If you are not a legitimate expert in mushroom identification you should never collect wild mushrooms of any kind.

  • @MysteryBowl Thank you so very much for commenting. I was considering collecting until I read your precaution. I will not do it now. I am not an expert but curious as the identity of mushroom I often see in the North Eastern areas (like in my state of NH). I see some in my yard and some growing on White Birch and other trees. It made me curios to know the identity so I thought I would check out some vids to see if I could identitfy them and if they are edible. I won't eat them; still want 2 know

  • @j2cool2 hey! i live in NH too! i've been dabbling in shroom ID for quite a while, but i'm not good enough to cook with them. did you know that the tree type they grow on can matter too?! there's just too much to know!

so happy hunting-and don't forget to bring your camera. that's the best way to have fun and be safe.

    cheers!

  • wow this is an amazing tip!! I always feel scared when cooking mushrooms, its impossible to tell if they are spoilt or not. Also, is it true that we should not wash mushrooms..?

  • @jingabobo If you wash them they will absorb a lot of water and be ruined. I never wash them, just knock off the dirt and they'll fine fine.

  • You can wash the mushrooms if you are going to use them immediately. Wash the mushrooms and wipe them dry so that they do not absorb any water.

    Happy Cooking!

  • Wash the mushrooms and use them immediately. If you keep them for longer period in water, they will absorb the water.

    Happy Cooking!
