Do they have horns? I have never seen one of these "little girls" in a video. *The term "Little girls" is not meant sexually at all. It is a reference in size comparison.*
@ebtmikado Toronto's streetcars have the same audible warning signals (similar to Johnstown's streetcar system has), consisting of horns/whistles to asides from the gongs/bells.
I have to say, this was excellent footage of the runbys of our cars. I'm a motorman there myself but have been more on the subway side of operations this season. Love 850 but 357 is a real dog to operate as I had this past Saturday. Keep up the great work.
@TrainmasterCurt 357 was a car owned and operated by the Johnstown Traction Company in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. It currently resides at the Shore Line Trolley Museum in East Haven, CT.
Wow, interesting vid! How many miles of track does this railway have? Is it still run like a commuter line or more of a tourist/museum line? Either way, still good to see some vintage trolleys exist!
I sure have a lot to learn about video's and presenting them. You did a terrific job. Thanks, someday going to get nerve to get one of those where the train goes over head. Terrific.
Thanks for that bit of information, I'd probably also sort of pile a bit of ballast around the camera just to be sure. Those certainly are wonderful shots and love looking at them. Thanks again.
Is this tourist or actual passenger??

Some streetcars had horns or whistles, some not. They New Orleans car has only a gong. Johnstown car has a whistle and a gong.

Don't know how 357 was a year ago but I haven't had any issues with it these past few weekends.

@y2julio Is 357 an ex Winnipeg street car?, even the livery suggests it?

The line is 1.5 miles long. At one time, it was over 12 miles long, but was cut back until
transit service was discontinued in 1947, when
the museum took over this portion. It's the oldest continuously operating suburban trolley line in the U.S., since July, 1900.

I've been doing those between-the-rails shots for over 40 years, since my 8mm days. A hint:
lay the camera on the ballast (preferrably on
a small piece of wood)-not on a tie. Too much
vibration on a tie.

Sweet bridge shot at 1:30! Whoever rated this one star is a dick and needs to have their brain readjusted, by a blunt object if necessary!
