There's not even volume in this....all u c is 8,6 Liter, 16 Cylinders of best german engineering departed on 2 cars. Half as much cams as cylinders. 922 HP in total. We call it Meisterleistung. Always 2 steps ahead. That's what we engineers strive 4 over here.

The S14 BMW M3s pushed officially 380 HP out of a tiny, 1960s last Evolution straight 4 in DTM. In Formula 1 the same base pulled 1500 HP out of used 1500cc-Blocks in 1983.

Porsche: 1570 HP out of 5 Litres in 73. Says it all.

Back in the days 'BMW Motorsport GmbH' designed this car with S14 Engine power, weight dist.50/50.Everything is made as a package of chassis design as well ! BMW had at that time M88/3 they could put easy that engine but it will be not the same chassis! Next generation was E36 M3 6 cyl bigger wider design. 'BMW M GmbH' Design the first M3 GTR Wide body with V8. The M3 V10 is very nice fun to drive fast car!!!
