Does he naturally speak Gaelic or is he just singing to lyrics? Because he sounds like he has a terrible accent but then again, I don't know much about this language so maybe it's supposed to sound like that
The beauty of translation. You'll have to speak to Glen and his mates on that one. but don't forget though he is from the Mun so I wouldn't mess with him.
No way man. The fella who si up for murdering the taxi driver in Blanchardstown went there, as well as a few other "famous people". You'll be hard pressed to find a tougher primary school in Ireland. 400 pupils, all boys, slap bang in the middle of Ballymun.
Haha, that last comment made me laugh..not in a nasty way. Gaeilge, ya gotta love it. Another great song...must go out and buy that ceol 08 dvd, thanks for the link.
i'm not irish, don't have a clue what he's saying but its beautiful, so can anybody tell me what this song is about and what is gaeilge actually?? plz?!
A gentle voice asks the one who has suffered if she really prefers the pain and silence and having to live with shame. He tells her that it doesn't have to be that way. He offers her gentle words of consolation and encourages her to let her true self be seen. He tells her she shouldn't put up with the lies of those who hurt her. He tells her she's way better than that and suggests that she should leave and escape with him...
1. Tar ar ais. Taispeáin tú féin. Féach, a chroí. Come back, show yourself. Look, love.
Tá tú ró uasal don saol. Imeoimís.
You’re too good for this place. Let's leave.
Ná cur suas lena gcuid bréag. Ná creid iad.
Don't put up with their lies. Don’t believe them.
Chorus: Nó an fearr leat pian agus ciúnas is ceann faoi?
Or would you rather pain and silence and defeat?
An fearr leat pian agus ciúnas? Ní gá iad.
Would you rather pain silence? There's no need for them

2. Ah come on, tar liom féin. Creidim, a chroí.
Ah come on, come with. I believe, love.
Fáilte ar ais, bhí tú i gcéin. Conas mar a bhí?
Welcome back, you’ve been away. How’s it been?
Diúsigh. Seo é do ghrá gheal.
Wake up. This is your light of love.

Ceapaim go bhfuil an amhrán seo go h-álainn. An bhfuil gaeilge aige mar a chéad theanga nó cad?

@SimCity4IE
Ní dóigh liom é ach is léir go bhfuil grá aige dá chultúr agus chuala mé é ag labhairt i nGaeilge ó am go ham, go speisialta ag na Oscars.

It's called Pain and Silence (quiet)
A gentle voice asks the one who has suffered if she really prefers the pain and silence and having to live with shame. He tells her that it doesn't have to be that way. He offers her gentle words of consolation and encourages her to let her true self be seen. He tells her she shouldn't put up with the lies of those who hurt her. He tells her she's way better than that and suggests that she should leave and escape with him...
It's a very tender song.
