  • 1. Tar ar ais. Taispeáin tú féin. Féach, a chroí. Come back, show yourself. Look, love.

Tá tú ró uasal don saol. Imeoimís.

You’re too good for this place. Let's leave.

Ná cur suas lena gcuid bréag. Ná creid iad.

Don't put up with their lies. Don’t believe them.

Chorus: Nó an fearr leat pian agus ciúnas is ceann faoi?

Or would you rather pain and silence and defeat?

An fearr leat pian agus ciúnas? Ní gá iad.

Would you rather pain silence? There's no need for them

  • 2. Ah come on, tar liom féin. Creidim, a chroí.

Ah come on, come with. I believe, love.

Fáilte ar ais, bhí tú i gcéin. Conas mar a bhí?

Welcome back, you’ve been away. How’s it been?

Diúsigh. Seo é do ghrá gheal.

Wake up. This is your light of love.

  • Tá sé seo déanta go maith.

  • Ba mhaith liom "Ag Titim Go Mall" i nGaeilge a chloisteáil.

  • Ceapaim go bhfuil an amhrán seo go h-álainn. An bhfuil gaeilge aige mar a chéad theanga nó cad?

  • @SimCity4IE

Ní dóigh liom é ach is léir go bhfuil grá aige dá chultúr agus chuala mé é ag labhairt i nGaeilge ó am go ham, go speisialta ag na Oscars.

  • You irish guys actually speak that language and understand it ??? D: Thats unfair , Bahh I dont understand a word in this version D:

  • Níl an amhrán seo ró dheacair a thuiscint...

  • He is from Ballymun, moved to Killester as far as im aware

  • is maith liom é agus sílim go bhfuil an ghaeilge ag gceart. Tuigim é agus ni raibh a fhios agam nach bhfuil se abalta gaeilge a labhairt.

an bhfaca duine ar bith an scannan 'Once' le glen agus marketa irglova?

  • Does he naturally speak Gaelic or is he just singing to lyrics? Because he sounds like he has a terrible accent but then again, I don't know much about this language so maybe it's supposed to sound like that

  • No he doesn't speak irish, he said so himself at one of his concerts i went to :)

  • Lol, even though I'm not Irish it's sort of obvious

    but that's cute!

  • i am from ireland..and i do speak irish and i tink he sounds fairly gud...it very difficult to write songs as gaeilge

  • Níl , is as baile Munna é gan dabht. Chuaigh sé go holy Spiirt BNS agus Ballymun Comp.

  • For some reason, this is the sexiest thing I've ever heard.

  • are there mp3's available on itunes of this? I don't know what to search.

  • glen's from the same small village as me :)

  • Ba ceart go mbíodh an gaeilge níos fear now glen

  • Is breá liom an amhrán suaimhneach meabhrach seo ach is trua faoin fhíseán.

  • tá brón orm mo chara.

  • doesnt pian agus ciunas mean pain and silence? it should at least be pian i ciunas or pian sa ciunas

  • The beauty of translation. You'll have to speak to Glen and his mates on that one. but don't forget though he is from the Mun so I wouldn't mess with him.

  • well im from the dalkin! righ! i grew up around the corner from where mic lived :)

i woulda guessed it was seachtain na gaeilge that did the translations for the artists

  • Probably right. I'll ask Glen in a couple of weeks when I see him.

  • do you seriously know glen the great?

  • I don't, but he I know a girl that does! OHHH.

He is coming back to his old school in a couple of weeks and I've been invited along

  • deadly buzz

a performance of a certain award winning song is in the cards methinks

  • As gaeilge????

  • well was it a gaelscoil?

  • No way man. The fella who si up for murdering the taxi driver in Blanchardstown went there, as well as a few other "famous people". You'll be hard pressed to find a tougher primary school in Ireland. 400 pupils, all boys, slap bang in the middle of Ballymun.

  • in irish

  • where do you get all these rarities!!!

  • Haha, that last comment made me laugh..not in a nasty way. Gaeilge, ya gotta love it. Another great song...must go out and buy that ceol 08 dvd, thanks for the link.

  • i'm not irish, don't have a clue what he's saying but its beautiful, so can anybody tell me what this song is about and what is gaeilge actually?? plz?!

  • hope you got the message I sent you

  • great help, thanx!!

  • It's called Pain and Silence (quiet)

A gentle voice asks the one who has suffered if she really prefers the pain and silence and having to live with shame. He tells her that it doesn't have to be that way. He offers her gentle words of consolation and encourages her to let her true self be seen. He tells her she shouldn't put up with the lies of those who hurt her. He tells her she's way better than that and suggests that she should leave and escape with him...

    It's a very tender song.

  • for children being abused as gaeilge?

    go h-iontach!

  • Powerful.

  • Wow
