  • Nice job

  • quote: "it will cost you $5.50 a box, saving you about 50 cents"

I'd like to see some numbers please. We seem to have a "he said, she said" here.

What would anybody suggest to just reload one box a year? My goal is getting a few specialty loads such as bean bags or rock salt from my beater. I see no $25 Lee Loader for shotguns too. Like: "Lee Classic Loader Kit for 30-06 Springfield $21" ....No can do?

  • I had an MEC re-loader years ago.. I sold it in order to buy my X-WIFE an engagment ring... I should have kept the re-loader....

  • Where do you get shot and wades?

  • I'm not trying to be a dick hole but do they make some that are a bit more mechanized or progressive? My time is more valuable than the savings at that production rate.

  • so how much does one shell cost to you ?

  • excellent video! Great Job! My 10 year old son was asking me about shotgun shells. I explained how they work. But this video really showed him.. Thanks!

  • @MrGr1874 the shot is about 25 bucks a bag. 25 pound bags, so about a dollar a pound

  • I have three of these

  • can you reload slugs with this?

  • Go to this webpage and enter your costs in and I think you will be surprised at how much you are actually paying for your reloads. It is trapshooters dot comm and scroll down to reloading cost calculator

  • two and a half dollars!?! Even considering this was added last year, it will cost you more than that to reload. Lets say you can reload a shell 10 times and you buying everything else cheap as can be, it will cost you $5.50 a box, saving you about 50 cents on cheap sporting rounds. But 50 cents saved is 50 cents saved and it will add up but you are not saving 4 dollars

  • @222jimmy333 i do actually reload for about 2.50 to 3.00 a box

  • @outdoorguy1215 wouldnt pay off to reload 3'' 00 buck, especially at 3.50 a box for remington from cheaperthandirt...my 300 win mag on the other hand...lol

  • @222jimmy333 ?? Do you actually reload to have come up with this calculation? I just finished reloading 500 shells to get ready for the western region ATA tournament in California and we calculated we did it for $2.42 a box (25).

  • @222jimmy333 I agree, he is way off on his calculations. I did mine for this year and that is not the case at all...

  • I realize that you've been reloading for some time but have you thought about stopping and cleaning the machine some? Just wondering.

  • How many shots does a shell get, before it needs to be thrown out?

    --Anyone feel free to answer.

  • @jb10815 it kinda depends on the shell. i have shells that i have reloaded over 8 or 9 times but some need to be thrown out after two times

  • I have the same reloader, which I acquired thanks to craigslist. I have yet to use it. Can it reload also buckshot?

  • @mrfiux The loader itself can't drop the buckshot into the shell but it will still do everything else. To reload buckshot you have to stack the shot in yourself. I got a reloader similar to this for $25 so I figured I would get into shotshell reloading. I don't shoot birdshot alot and I pretty much just shoot buck and slugs. Right now I'm set up to reload #4 buckshot just need some finale pointers from someone that is experianced.

  • outdoorguy... it's nice to see a young guy like yourself involved in the shooting sports. i started out with the same reloader you have and made thousands of trap loads with it when i was young. was slow, but made good loads. went to a expensive PW loader which i never liked. now use a mec 9000 automate but i shoot several hundred of shells a month. sometimes almost a thousand a month. stay involved and enjoy the time you can spend with your dad. i've been reloading for almost 49 yrs.

  • if you said you could do one in about 9 sec. thats roughly 5 a minute then wouldnt it only take you 20 minutes to do 100?

  • @johndeereboy508 that was if i really rushed and had everything ready to go

  • Cool vid, thanks for the info.

  • The pro check on the 600 Jr is really messed up. Somebody forced it over to many times. You can get a new part or bend the one you have straight. THen it won't be so hard to move.

  • how many times can you reload 1 shell on average?

  • @1nicknick599 normally until theres just wear on the shell, but usually like 5-7 times is average really.

  • @outdoorguy1215 alright thanks man and how much does it cost to get into it? like say all the supplies u need to startt reloading

  • @1nicknick599 for the reloader itself anywhere from 150 to 900, but i just looked at some used ones on ebay from 50 - 90 bucks, then a 25 pund bag of shot is around 30 dollars, primers are about 4 or 5, wads are like 5 to 10, and that should get you going.

  • @outdoorguy1215 thank god you said how much i can get em for on ebay lol i was about to buy one from midway for my 410.

  • would this work good with 16 guage shells? because its like impossible to find shots and they cost way more then 12 guage soo ya

  • @1nicknick599 yes, just need a different bar

  • haha ganna get hated but kinda looks fun lol pass time :p

  • @1nicknick599 its not too bad

  • looks like your need to adjust your final crimp you shell is starting push open, and go spend the money on a better reloader that is a mec 650 that you have i use to use one but now i use a mec graber and i can load 100 rounds in 10 min i shoot trap, and sporting clays, and hunt

  • Great vid man. Thanks!

  • Reloading shells really seems easy to do. If I pick up competition clay shooting Ill definately start reloading. Good vid bud.

  • i suppose its the joy of getting a bird with a cartridge you loaded yourself :)

  • can you reload .410 shells with that setup?

  • SSSSsuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuckkkkkkkkkkkkk mmmmmmmmmmyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd niiiigggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg

  • nice video, thank you! but you really should visit a barber once in a while ;)

  • Nice vid...........

  • hey, what are some good shells to reload with?

  • @AirsoftVeteran96 pretty much any, just make sure they are in good shape, like no cracks and things like that.

  • k thanks, i might start reloading sometime

  • @AirsoftVeteran96 reloading is great, it saves money and if you get into rifle shells and things like that you can cook up some special loads and get more accuracy.

  • Excellent video!! *****
