  • I change my mind,its a very good song.

I think i was kind of unfair before.

  • R.E.M, this music world still needs you here!

  • It's disappointing that the last comment before this was a month ago. REM deserves more attention.

  • this place needs me here to start

this place is the beat of my heart

this is how i see this song :)

  • oh my butt , thats dislikers song

  • Been together since they were kids, they must have had there up and downs like most folks growing up,and yes all good things come to an end one way or another, they were unique and were very good,my bro was into them in the early 80s,me the last 10 years,i thought they got better with age, them and their music.thanks for the music and the memories,REM.great last album by the way.

  • Why God, Why..... I Pray The Whole Day That They Are Smart Enough To Get Back Together

  • It's nice that R.E.M. ended with a really solid album.

  • @John1MN But this is also sad, because you want more of it :)

  • Thank you R.E.M. I will never foget you!!! What wonderfull 31 years!

'the skill in attending a party is knowing when it's time to leave.'

    Leaving R.E.M never easy,

I saw the light fading out.

Find it in your heart, it's pulling me apart,

Find it in your heart, it's pulling me apart.

I told you, forever, I love you, forever, forever, forever...

  • please play a farewell tour :S

  • WOW.... it´s a great great song! I hear it AND I feel it! Awesome.

  • ...I randomly typed "oh" in google search to check if i had internet connection. This was one of the suggestions. This is awesome. :D Google ftw~.

  • out of curiosity, i'm not a native english speaker, was REM's songs ever supposed to make sense, or is it mostly gibberish word mish mash. I never though they'd made much sense, but that's not to say it doesn't..

  • @doped1 early rem albums are notorious for inaudable and cryptic lryics but they are (coindidentally or not) the best, the aptly titled murmur to document. modern rem sounds much more obviously politically motivated to me but for this song you have to have heard accalerate's houston where that song referanced katriona this is a followup and a return to the city. you can hear the similaraties

  • @doped1 NOW, you've got me thinking!!! :)

  • @doped1 Some of them are lyrical, means exact translation would not make a sense, like all poetry one have to feel thru it.

  • I R ally Love This S ng

  • Lubię, lubię, lubię ;D

  • The best.....

  • Okay I will not be bitter, but it is a close call. If Michael can keep bitterness away, I will try. I need this community too.

Love R.E.M and you all as well. Or maybe it is just the Oxy today.

  • The song doesn't mean a damn thing, so why do I cry each time?

  • The part before the guitar sounds like the intro to The Matrix.

  • rem as good as ever!

  • Top ten bands of all time! Where are u Bill Berry?

  • This song could be played in a jewish/french version of "The Godfather"

  • R.E.M. and Mandolin belong together

  • This is a very good song, reminds me of old R.E.M when they were at their peak.

  • Tunes Award Winner 2011

  • I dont like REM normally, but i do like this song alot.

  • Great video! Keep 'em coming...

  • loves R.E.M <3 <3 <3

  • Great lyrics and great music

  • @alidadban

I agree it's an ace song i cant believe they haven't released them as cd singles they'd have sold more.

  • stunning

  • "storm didn't kill me, the government changed"

  • I am drunk…. not on booze, but on sex! haha

  • I like this song, however, you can't deny that it's "Sing for the Submarine" (from Accelerate) twin sibling. Even some of the words are similar at one part. Great CD though.

  • o my heart....

  • Oh my heart... This song is in my heart...

  • rem class

  • Lieber Claudio,

  • @katjagorius , has he seen the message ?

  • ONE M0:00RE TIME

  • this song kept me alive through a break up. God bless REM.

  • this song kept me alive through a break up. God bless REM.

  • channeling late johnny cash, i love this.

  • This is on par with Automatic for the people, wich i found to be the first album of any kind of music with a whole cd with not a single average or bad song.

  • very nice !!!!!

  • good album ill get i think

  • This makes me think of the situation in Japan, somehow.

Also, it just wouldn't be an REM ballad without that "tierce de picardie" at the very end.

  • this song ranks high in the category Best Song Ever

  • What a Beautiful song of the album this is!

Some say REM are back to form....I say they never lost form just got better with age.

  • This album is R.E.M's most precious after superior Automatic for the People.

  • Ëxito inmediato, si.....y qué. Dentro de otros 30 años hablamos. Seguro otro clásico. Y van?

    otro yorugua

  • Instant classic.Best song is Oh my heart definitely. Then comes It happened today and all the best.

  • the storm didnt kill me and the government changed

from that other song where he says if the storm doesnt kill me, the government will :)

  • @cooldude10200 hey totally

  • Una hermosa cancion, nos encanta su lirica y nos sentimos muy identificados con ella.ES REM,QUE MAS PODEMOS DECIR?Stefania y Ramiro de Atlantida,Uruguay.

  • the good of this world AND man's intentions are complete decay you were created for perfection only in the throne room of your creator can you attain it He loves you He repares the scars He rebuilds the cities man's intentions are filled with no good but that which reflects the Glory of Your First love

  • great ..

  • Thank you Scott McCaughey for adding the accordion part to this beautiful song!

  • Ohhh, I LOVE them and you!

  • Welcome back boys!!

  • i like the part from 0:00 till 3:29 ;)

oh my heart..... i love this song

  • Awesome... very reminiscent to Antony and the Johnsons style.

  • On the live version I found it had some amazing baking vocals. Too bad the studio version doesn't have the same thing.

  • LOVE IT!

  • Sounds a lot like "Disappear" (2001 - Reveal), but sounds fine!

  • LOVE the new release! Where is BLUE?

  • The more I listen to this song the more I feel touched with a knot in my throat. Mike Stipe is a great poet besides a powerful rocker...his voice is dark and warm so that every concept and word is underlined with strenght. The most genial phrase is the one referred to "Houston", as other people already said, "the storm didn't kill me, the government changed". I'm looking forward to buy the new album. Saluti dall'Italia...

  • The melodic manner with which the music coalesces with Stipe's incredible singing is unrivaled. That damn mandolin touches my cerebral senses in places I never knew existed. This is music. Welcome back REM - we missed you!!

  • Love the reference to 'Houston' from Accelerate.

Houston: If the storm doesn't kill me, the government will.

Oh My Heart: The storm didn't kill me, the government changed.

    Great lyrical easter egg.

  • 10 people suck

  • impresionante !!

    maravilloso!!

    exelente!!

    ellos son mis REM

  • the perfect song...

  • great! this place is the beat of my heart...

  • R.E.M. should play Super Bowl XLVI. Somebody somewhere should start a campaign to make sure this happens.

  • Do you really think we care about your Superbowl sh...?

  • @cabelshiraz because it's been played by U2, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Sting, Prince, Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith. Tom Petty, & The Who. Who is missing from this exclusive list? Why have they been overlooked?

  • @top20modernrock who gives a SHIT about the super bowl

  • @tyzojp Most Americans do. It's the largest tv audience of the year. The Super Bowl halftime show is the biggest fucking stage to be on. That's why. REM deserves to be up on that stage.

  • @top20modernrock

don't get me wrong but u just got what i hate bout your country. superbowl? how could you ever think of such a shit while listening to this bad ass tune? nothing in common...is this all bout football and burgers?

  • @buugar Because REM is one of the best bands of all time and they deserve more attention in the United States. If anybody deserves to be on the biggest stage in America, it's REM. U2's played it. Green Day has too. Paul McCartney, Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Bruce, The Who. Who is missing from this great list????? Exactly, REM.

  • @top20modernrock

I agree. It's funny because I was just thinking the same thought this morning and then I saw this post. It is only right that REM gets a chance to do this. I have followed them since the beginning and they will always be on my favorite bands list.

  • @samadi713 ...to give credit where credit is due, I forgot to mention Prince. His was one of the best half time shows ever.

    Watch: /watch?v=4QKajzKmyhw

  • @top20modernrock

You are absolutely correct. I think the Prince show was probably the best halftime show ever. I was a big Prince fan back in the day and I was hoping his show at the bowl would show everyone what a great performer he is and he did exactly that. Other bands I think deserve a shot at playing the bowl are COLDPLAY and MUSE. Also, LIVE if they ever decide to get back together again. I saw them about 10 times over the years and their shows always are great crowd pleasers.

  • munchen...salzburg...oh my heart

  • this is fucking genius

  • I finally figured out the lyrics. It has an obvious meaning and an intellectual meaning

  • @themooddisorders most of their stuff is that way :-)

  • Missed u!

  • almost an echo of fergal sharkey on this one.and that aint no bad review...god i love ya REM

  • perfect

  • if his voice could be spread across the world on loudspeaker, not another gunshot would occur....

  • you never ever let me down.you lift my heart

  • przyjemnie się tego słucha :))

  • przyjemnie się tego słucha :))

  • fantastico...!!

    increible!!

    espectacular cancion!!!

    -_O

  • Michael's voice just keeps getting better.

  • Another great one!

  • Another great one!!!!

  • Amazing. i wad sure that the last record was the end of this band but the new songs are just amazing!!!

Uberlin - the best song i heard in the last two year.

    Discoverer - great song.

Oh my heart - beautifull song.

R.E.M. are great, i can't wait to buy the album.

  • I hated this song when I first heard it but it's been growing on me. This happens each time R.E.M. releases a new album. One great thing about their music is you often have to invest some time, occasionally dozens of re-plays until you "get it". The pay off is much more rewarding than the instantly catchy, radio friendly crap, that the legions of suburban American zombies seem to enjoy feeding on. The radio stations would go out of business if the had to play legitimate music like this!

  • @tectonicD and thats the sad reality of it. it sucks but i think it can change with bands like this and others

  • @rollthebones18: I was thinking the same thing about this one. It's "Houston Part II." Especially with the "storm didn't kill me, the government changed" line. But I agree, I think it works well. Eagerly awaiting the release of this album. I thought Accelerate was REM's best album since Automatic, but it seems like Collapse picks up where Accelerate left off, but adds the dimension and depth that Accelerate was missing. This will be their best record in 20 years. Can't wait!

  • This seems like the sequel to Houston. i mean that in a goodway, it keeps the story going.

  • It's incredible, from these songs this seems to be the the best album of REM...I'm very very happy to discover that! REM the best!

  • Oh My Heart is currently free on Amazon:

    dailyfreemp3. com/oh-my-heart-r-e-m-rock/

  • Love it! Simply great...

  • The start of the song reminds me a lot of the start of Disappear, which isn't a bad thing since Reveal was a great album. Looking forward to this one!

  • A great song !

  • Beautiful

  • Thank You Michael for Your voice.

  • "The storm didn't kill me.. the government changed." I LOVE it when bands write follow up songs to previous ones. :')

  • Oh My Heart! What a amazing song!! The best R.E.M. song of the last years!!

Oh My God, how beautiful! Thank you Michael for your voice!

  • I like Discover, and It Happened Today.

I love Mine Smell Like Honey, U-Berlin.

    I hate Oh My Heart.

  • EXCEPTIONNEL!!! OHHHH MYYY HEAART.... Michael is the king

  • if the storm doesnt kill me, the government will - sic

    BEST SONG FOR AGES

  • Glad to see they've brought back the mandolin!!

  • Nothing really needs to be said so > I choose not to say ... but my heart has had an epiphany thats all

  • great! i'm defiantly going to buy this album when it comes out.

  • Nice--really nice.

  • best song since "at my most beautiful"

    listen to "houston" off "accelerate"

then listen to "oh my heart".

    AWESOME

  • These guys must hang out with the two angels from Wings of Desire and Morrissey, partly of this world, partly not, they always offer unique, interesting perspectives. Thank you for the beauty and the wisdom you've provided over the years. Amen

  • this song is great, but I understand if you clicked dislike by mistake.

  • What a one-two punch of beauty, Uberlin and Oh My Heart

  • This is stunning

  • I always prefer quieter tuneful R.E.M. to the rock of Accelerate. This is great.

  • Lovely song, Stipes sounding great

  • The best song I've heard so far. REM never cease to amaze me, they continue to produce the most amazing music. Anyone that knocks them and says they haven't been the same since Berry left, or since Automatic are talkng rubbish. REM evolve and thats why I love them. REM could probably just fart on an album and it would still sound great.

  • I'm singing this song ever since I've heard it on youtube. This only happened to me when I've first heard Everybody Hurts 19 years ago. ..

  • very beautiful song.

  • Im pretty sure he is talking about how the music industry has been decaying (erasing) over the past few years and that it pains his heart to hear people like justin beiber and hannah montana try and pass their crap off as music.

  • @TheRogueburrito It's about the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

  • this definetley has to be my favorite of the 4 new songs they've released

  • Beautiful, a very Celtic feel...

  • Good song, the melody of the mandolin is wonderful, the words are brilliant, but the chorus is too simple. Good, but they can do better. I prefer 'Mine smell like honey' and 'uberlin', which has just been published on youtube

  • Lets just say I go back to the Begin. I dont like talking time and age. The only Album post IRS that I would and do own is Monster, but I wasn't ready for this song to be over. I really enjoyed the phrasing. I always want the best for them, even when they ain't reaching me.

  • Beautiful song. Best ballad since Nightswimming. I may even like it better.

  • imagine this live. oh i cant wait

  • I think after Everybody Hurts, this has to be one of the most beautiful and precious tracks that R.E.M. has ever recorded

  • Great R.E.M. tune. Brings me back to the feelings of Automatic for the People.

  • No-one jumps registers like Stipey does

  • @logixish especially with a compressor, but we all get old.

  • Stupenda...Per me si merita di stare tra le migliori canzoni dei R.e.m. ! Wonderful!

  • i have always been excited for a new r.e.m album YES EVEN AROUND THE SUN

but i cant say ive ever been this excited. fucking all 4 songs released have been amazingg

i think i love this the most, Michael sounds so beautiful on it!

  • does any of the new collapse into now songs have mike mills lead vocals or have a lot of mills voice in them? if there is plz message back ty

  • @ricflairfan5 Mills's background vocals on "Mine Smell Like Honey" are prominent and one of the very best parts of that song.

  • I can't wait for this album! And a subsequent tour! XD

  • Nice song.
