  • Dear don't hate.

What does Dervish mean? Do you know that? Event the Word Derwish is a Persian/Kurdish word, these are Kurdish minorities living in turkey. that's a fact.. but okey when you think, turks also play this instroment, than its okey..

    greets

  • for those who doesnt know what dervish means A Dervish or Darvesh[1] (from Persian درویش, Darvīsh)[2] is someone treading a Sufi Muslim ascetic path or "Tariqah", known for their extreme poverty and austerity, similar to mendicant friars in Christianity or Hindu/Buddhist/Jain sadhus.

Dar in Persian means "a door", so Dervish literally means "one who opens the doors".[1] The word is also related to terms for "ascetic" in some languages

  • the tunes are Kurdish (kurds live in persia, turkey, irak syria) tunes which is used in folcloric songs and on weddings. : )

  • I knew the studio in this video was familiar. I was looking up this place for an assignment a while ago. Great song, can't wait for the show in July!

  • i love you guys so much and im soo glad that i live in freo. i have always loved you guys since you started, yay

  • wheres the drummer at the beginning?

  • The drummer in the video and the studio drummer are two different people, it's just a session musican who's drumming in the video, he's not a real member of Eskimo Joe per se.

In the studio Joel does the drums but live he does guitar with Stuart whilst they have a touring guy.

It used to be Dan Bull, not sure if it still is. It looks sorta like him.

  • I agree with theDARKangelKIRA person and the inspiration has mostly come from the turks, ahh kurdish people tsk tsk

  • I think his idea of big landscape and explosions would of been awesome too

  • Loving this guys - welcome back! Kav, you're looking far too hot for your own good ;-)

  • number one for sure!

  • where is the drummer at the start???

  • Hahaha, mad! It's kinda inspiring watching these behind-the-scenes clips :)

  • soz mz427 but this is turk music.....ur right they are similar......but all in all this is turk....LONG LIVE TURKEY

  • The instrument in this song is not only Turkish but also Kurdish. The Arabs use it as well but they use the drums more. So in essence it is a middle eastern instrument. Dont go thinking it is only Turkish because it isnt! I was born and raised in Australia with a Kurdish background and I cannot let the Turks think that this is their bloody instrument because it isnt.

  • Love the song guys... the clip is incredible. Can't wait for Inshalla! Xoxo.
