  • Guys unless your truly hard of hearing that "Injected" motor was making some noises that I don't think that 7000 dollar systems gonna fix... Or maybe the person who put the adjustments to it just didn't get it ? either way 7000 grand could have built one really sweet mouse..

  • So would MFI be better for horse power or EFI or CARB? im thinking about doing this to my camaro

  • Not in anway. Carburetors are the worst for power overall, and MFI is just too impresice.

EFI is the way to go, despite being the most complex, simply because you can have pinpoint prescison, and thus power.

  • Yeah thats what i have always been told. thx man yeah im doing my first motor rebuild on my camaro and im just trying to learn as much as i can to be honest. btw your motor sounds fucken beast. sounds like its about to eat someone up.

    thx again for the info

  • Man, that ain't my motor, I'm just a fellow viewer.

You building an LS, or SBC? Either way, a Hilborn ITB intake, like the one in this video, is the way to go. It's just that they're drop dead expensive, but you can convert the MFI ones to EFI with some work.

Check out Nelson Racing Engines' page to get an idea. There's a video of a 406 SBC that's a good look.

  • @LordJesseD

Well, mechanical fuel injection is around your price range.....however, it not really suitible for street.

Electronic.....is best.....but costs about 7000, give or take.

    Bought a hilborn. It's awesome!

  • I do have to say, I didn't say anywhere that I'm planning to buy one of these, nor did I say how much I'm worth.

MFI is all right for the street just, it's just that it's not as good as EFI.

    What Hilborn did you buy?

  • @50chevyguy It better not cost you $7,000 for even the greatest sequential fuel injection setup ever put together. After you bought an intake and throttle, injectors, MAFS, TPS, ECT, Coilpack, Pump, regulator, Knock sensor, O2 sensors, and tunable ECU.....where would the remaining $5,000 go...Strippers and Cocaine?

  • @LeeMurphyRobertson

What's your application? Drag, or driver?

And how much money do you have to play with?

  • umm well im thinking street monster. i want to get my CR to 9:5.1 so i can still run pump gas. and i have been looking in to nitrous. i have about $1000 left. why whats up?

  • Depending on your setup, on a very tamed engine, you could run 10:1 on 91 octane. Nitrous is only worth it if you have the cashflow. Again, there's a Nelson Racing Engines video with a 572 BBC they built to relieabley take the NOS.

  • @LeeMurphyRobertson Forget Nitrous. It is useless. It will provide you power for a short time then run out and you have to buy more. A bad mixture can blow up your engine easy. A supercharger or turbo will provide you with as much if not more power and will give you that power at all times. You can chose to set it up with a control so you aren't running boost if you don't want.

  • so its just an engine driven pump and a valve linked to throttle position?

more throttle = more fuel and higher rpm = more fuel?
