I agree with the riverdance but as far as I know there are no bagpipes in mariachi music. (From a 1/2 mexican, 1/2 colombian, married to a gallego-the land of the celtic bagpipes and musica gallega) Saludos!

répandus partout et surtout en Espagne d'ou viennent les Celtos Ibères de BZH et EIRE ce pourquoi ils sont bruns ....Ne pas confondre Gaulois venus de germanie ,et Nordiques venus ....du nord § wikipedia vous dira tout ! Il y a eu des Celts en Corse en Roumanie ,en Galice en AFN Ils étaient nomades donc ont répendus leurs culture et art partout ....il y a des preuves du passage descelts en Sicile ,Italy etc....

The word Celtic is very controversial in Galiza we retain many names of Celtic origin, common words, objects and tradition with "Celtics"... some prefer to speak of Atlantic Countries. However, it is undeniable that our traditional culture share more with Eire, Alba, Briezh; Cornwall, Wales... that "Spain" or "Spanish". Tschüss

Actually I checked the history of Galiza, although only on Wikipedia. Indeed Galiza has an proven Celtic past. I was quite surprised, since I knew about the Celtoiberians, but they lived further in the east of the Iberian Peninsula. Furthermore they were, as their name sais, already a mixture. I never kne there was a purely Celtic area in Iberia. Especiually I did not expect it in the north west, I would have rather expected it in the east closer to Gallia.

Europe's history is quite fascinating!

You are right. I simplified things since there is only space for 500 words here.

The Celts are the result of a mixture from the start: the purely Indo-European Proto-Celts mixed with the long-established Halstatt-Culture and formed what we know as Celts.

Still there is a difference between the Celtic peoples, the many more or less only celtisized peoples (like Illyrians or Ligurians etc.) and that specific mixture named Celt-Iberians. That is why a strictly Celtic region west of them surpr. me!
