Monica doesn't have the range to sing whitney's songs, specially "you give good love". She has a pleasant voice but you need more than just a pleasant voice to sing whitney songs.

@joohsay Sadly, I see Whitney in a similar light to MJ circa 2002; Whitney's I Look To You was more or less her "Invincible" album; popular for a few weeks, then disappeared like MJ did in 2001. She's in that "deader than disco" stereotype unfortunately, and it will take LOTS of courage for her to REALLY return to form. You hardly hear Whitney on the radio anymore as well; quite a shock as I expected her in 2010 to start appearing on oldies stations; but I almost never hear her.

(25 years now) & she has sung at everyone elses tribute to Sammy Davis Jr, Luther, and Patti Labelle. A spectacular, celebrity filled tribute is long overdue for her..... This is the worst tribute I have seen. The songs were bigger than all of them. Poor Whitney. She deserves better. A Charice + Leona + Jennifer Hudson + Tamyra Gray combo would be perfect.

Wow, what a comeback. I guess I've been put in my place. By the way, I just left a concert in Milwaukee where Charice performed prior to Ms. Patti LaBelle ( I'm a very wealthy physician, so I can do this kind of stuff ). The reason Charice opened for Ms. LaBelle is because of a special request FROM Ms. LaBelle. I guess she has no soul, either. By the way, they both ROCKED the thousands of people in attendance. I think this was a cute fun tribute. And I think Terry Ellis(EnVogue) did a nice job but I dont think she tried to sound like whitney. But honestly I think she could easily try and duplicate but she stay true to her own style and it worked for me! And so did the other artist...But I bet if someone challenged Terry to record one of her songs jus like her,people would be shocked at the similarity to whitneys voice
