Im using logic pro 9 and when I bring up the automation for aupitch I am not able to finely adjust or automate to 0. the closest i can get to 0 is either -18.9 or + 18.9... any suggestions?
@timothywynnable I'm pretty sure that was done with a Sylenth preset. Typically you would use a plug-in/vst to create white noise and set a slow attack it sounds like it's building up.
No man, you are doing it wrong. If you want to pitch it up an octave (1200 cents) or half an octave (600 cents) there is no way you can be that exact with that "plug in". What you have to do is, say you are using Sylenth, change the pitch modulation down in the left (set to 3 by default) to 12 or 24 (depending on how higg or low you want to go.
Then open up the piano roll for that synth and press the litte button in the corner (down, left) under the actual piano. A new little window till now open up. Drag it upwards to expand it. Press the little arrow in the top right corener, select Pitch Bend. Select the midiclip you want to automate and begin to draw the rise or fall with the pencil tool. Voila! A perfect octave (or two) pitch!
Adam, real talk man, great tips!!! I know alot about production and mixing, and this simple tip deff helps with people who need to find that commercial sound fx/automation.
Man i can't get the automation pitch to start at 0.0.. as soon as i make a dot it starts at 18.9. great vid theaux.
