If it is really your own arrangement you should definitely get the copyrights and record it at a professional studio, and then you can sell the score to elizabeth20942 =P It is beautiful!!!!!

@declanandsarah Before you go calling people names you should probably know what you're talking about. You can clearly tell from note to note in her part that the intervals are wrong and that she isn't quite in tune. And no the first singer doesn't set the key, the key is set in the score and all the singers must sing it, she is quite clearly out of tune.

@ombraninja Agreed, but I'd still like to give credit to the whole group for posting this. Even if at first she didn't hit the notes (which I agree), for me it seems that the overall performance isn't something that horrible. Personally, I believe the 2nd soprano deserves the biggest applause; she did the hard work in accompanying the harmony, maybe without any recognition. I'm no professional musician, I just play the piano and cello and did some opera singing for some time. What do you think?

@wampl I'd like to respond to the comments here. As the director of the Four Quarters, I appreciate all criticism, unless it becomes insulting and personal. This is a video I had second thoughts about putting up. It wasn't indicative of how well the girls could have done it. We had about 3 rehearsals with it, not nearly enough time to polish it. However, it was that or nothing. Given that people were constantly asking for new songs by the girls, I thought they would at least enjoy the effort.

@theCHRISTMAStreeSHIN We all like her. Most of the time Lindsay sings 2nd alto (the low part), but this time she is on 1st soprano. I really don't know of any other quartet singer who can shift from the lowest part to the highest one the way she does. The fact that everyone in the group can be used on three different parts and they all shift around a lot really makes this group special.

While this performance isn't perfect, it may be about as close as humanity can come to the heavenly! When the 2nd alto (Lindsay) can shift gears to 1st soprano, the 1st soprano (Rachel) is freed to produce heavenly harmonies. Meanwhile the 2nd soprano (Catherine) can use her full, rich voice on the lovely 1st alto "who's". Finally, the 1st alto (Sarah) shifts to 2nd alto in convincing fashion to cover. Is there another quartet on YouTube with this talent or flexibility? Awesome!

I also saw the YouTube "Amazing Grace - The Four Quarters with The Four Strong Winds". If you arranged that piece as well so you have the rights, I would also buy that one. Eight voice arrangement... I would expect it to cost more then a quartet arrangement as it is more work to arrange. Please consider marketing arrangements. There are also companies that do all the work & mail you a Check. If you do this, please also consider arrangements in a lower men's key where appropriate for male groups.

I saw that you have been swamped by requests for the arrangement, and you cannot respond due to time and cost. Have you ever considered copyrighting, and photo copying and selling them? Designate someone to set up an email or other method of receiving requests, receiving payment (through PayPal maybe...), and send the orders to a local print shop to print and mail them. I would buy one in a heartbeat. Price them to cover the cost + some profit. I would expect to pay $30.00 to $60.00 for a copy.

I have sang in church choir most of my life since the 70's, with some time in a barbershop chorus and quartet thrown in as well, and your group did a first rate rendention of this piece. @mokuren1976 @mokuren1976 il canone è molto semplice da "sviscerare" e ce ne sono molti spartiti in giro, alcuni per pianoforte sono completi di tutto (tutto ciò che conta è il giro di accordi e il motivetto che si ripete più o meno sempre uguale, e sempre molto chiaro da seguire come traccia melodica, soprattutto molto facile per improvvisarci sopra e arrangiare cose nuove) ciao :)
