Yes you can download windows media centre but unfortunetly its onlt compatible with windows vista or windows 7, Ive seen plenty of sites with windows xp media centre but its just samples and data that shows you how they made it but not the actual software, Its a shame i only got xp because I wanted it to hook up to my xbox and get internet browser on my xbox :(

@canyour123 As long as your computer is connected to your xbox through an ethernet cord or is connected to the same router (either with a cord or with wifi) I'm pretty sure that you can set up the connection with the xbox by going in to the settings. (I've only done this once - I don't have an xbox) Sorry I can't be of much help with the xbox.

It runs internet explorer in the background so as long as your laptop has a working internet connection the MCE browser will work.

It came with my computer. The only thing I downloaded was the browser plug-in. The windows xp media center edition is likely available at "illegal" torrenting websites like piratebay if you want to download it that way. Proceed at your own risk.

If you have a wireless connection between your xbox 360 and your computer, maybe the connection is too weak?

Maybe it is some weird glitch (windows is full of problems).

Sometimes you may have to wait a couple of hours.

If it doesn't play at all, maybe youtube can't use the file type. Try saving it as something else before uploading the video. (.avi , .mov , .mp4, etc.)

I'm pretty sure the newer versions on Vista and Windows 7 will if you live in the United States but this version (windows XP) will only record TV programs from your TV if your computer has a TV tuner.

Windows XP Media Center is an operating system. If you install it, it will remove your old installation of Windows XP. You could look for it on ebay or something. Microsoft no longer makes new installation discs for it. There's probably installation discs out there for sell for less than $100.

For $130 off of ebay is the cheapest I have seen.

It is a version of windows XP that includes the Media Center Theme and this Media center program.

You can probably get just the program through a torrent site somewheres on the web. Just search "Media Center Torrent" in google. Just be careful with torrents, sometimes they're not what you asked for.

By the size of the torrent file... if it's more than a GB then it probably isn't a simple program. Also, media center is many files.

If you have antivirus software you could scan the download, but there isn't really much of a way to say if it is a virus or not.

I don't think you can transfer an operating system, but if you found the media center .exe file you could possibly transfer that. Just an idea.
